This quilt brought back great memories!! My mother made a similar quilt way back in the 1960's where she stuffed each square with her old panty hose! She would cut apart the legs, roll each leg into a doughnut shape, and then sew it into a pocket of square shaped quilting material. After so long, she sewed the rows together and made a puffy quilt! Remember how hot panty hose can be? So imagine how warm that quilt felt on a cold Wisconsin night in a 100 year old log home before central heating was installed! Thank you Jenny for all the great tutorials!
Dear Jenny, You are a wonder women and should be in the Ginnis Book of records for keeping things simple! Just love your videos. What a teacher! Thank you for all you do. Please don't stop!!!!
You are so adorable! I loved watching your video. You didn't talk unnecessarily to fill time, you had things ready to demonstrate and the video was just long and informative enough that I could do this now. You are AWESOME!
Charms from a minky type fabric!! Awesome! A mini biscuit quilt! Love it! Congratulations on your story on the NBC World News. Proud of you and all your family is doing!
Jenny I love this tutorial. No one is better at explaining and giving excellent advice than you. I have been a fan of yours for years and have made many projects that you've taught. Thank you dear one for all the happiness you bring to so many people. I am so proud of the things I make and feel so creative. And you Jenny are to blame. ❤️😊
I wish I had found you before mama passed away. I love the simplicity and beauty of your teaching. Thank you for blessing me. I can now tell mama I sew too.
I just made a puff/pillow quilt.. I wish I would have seen this one because this is wayyyyyy more easy then what I just did/ still finishing I have to put a backing and batting and a ruffle. It has taken me so far 3 months. Between cutting, sewing and stuffing....oh the things we do for our kids. I am so happy I have found your page, for a new-be you make quilting so fun and easy, I have always wanted to learn but had no one to teach me. Thank you to you and your family and many of God's blessing over you all.
My 11 year old grand daughter is working on a puff quilt now she's a little more than half way done in about a week but she can only work on it a little at a time because of school work, I've never done one but she said it's easy, maybe because she's a kid...lol
As usual Jenny, your tutorials are wonderful. I love this idea. Thank you so much for all you do for us quilters. The only reason I'm quilting are your tutorials. You have taught me all I know. God Bless you and your family! Hugs, Jan
Happy Valentine's Day! I love the gift of knowledge you share. You are so wonderful the way you express/present yourself making the topic easy to follow the demo. You have the coolest job because there is opportunity to use some of the different sewing machines out there, each with fun features. because of you, I have had the biggest success in my fifty plus years of sewing, with a darling baby quit bound, and joined with fabric strips at 2.5 in., using your method for turning perfect corners. You are worth your weight in platinum. Bless you! Bonnie
Thanks for giving new life to biscuit quilting. I made several of the rag quilts and the satin with minky fabric quilts, but never thought of using minky this way. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
I made one from a cuddle charms pack (minky fabric) I bought through Missouri Quilt Co online. I'm a brand new sewer, so it was challenging for me to keep everything lined up. The minky fabric is so soft, but it is a bit slippery to try and keep it all in alignment, at least with my inexperienced hands. It was a good first effort, and thankfully I was making it for the pup! LOL He won't mind the very uneven edges. He's an old guy, so he needed a nice cuddly, warm blanket to keep him cozy at night.
I rally like this its the best video yet of these blankets that i have seen its so straight forward and easy to do no cutting different size squares for stuffing and doing them all individually. Jenny you are great at bringing us these great video Thank you.
Thanks Jenny..I love it. I have just finished making two cuddle fabric blankets with your tutorial for a self binding blanket. Your instruction video's make everything look so easy. this is my next project.
As a total novice "quilter", this video is just brilliant! Thank you Jenny for doing this, somehow I think my 'terror' of quilting has just been thrown out the window!!
I should have known Jenny would have a easy, quick, and simple way to make pillow quilt. I bought a PDF(puffy quilt) pattern and it had me stuffing each one then connecting. While I was doing that I came up with the way Jenny instructed. It took me a couple of pulling my hair out rows before the light bulb came on. I made my quilt last year 2013 before Queen Jenny video. My suggestion now to anybody quilting is to go to MSCO videos before you start a project. Simplest method is her motto.
Loved this tutorial! Made my 1st rag lap quilt and my mother in law loved so much I gave it to her. So now I'm going to try this one. Thanks for all of your GREAT youtube videos, because of you I've learned enough to try some stuff on my own.
OMG this was a lot harder than it looked in the video. Sewing the 4 layers of cuddle was a bear on my machine. It looks great now that its done, but I think I'll wait a while before I try another. Love all of your videos. Loved making the Jelly Roll quilt.
super huge like! i did one on the difficult and slow method, i gave up after one quillow, but now i am back on track thanks to you dear!!! may your year will be full of love not only on valentine day!
Fabulous.. my favorite part is where you use the "pillow" for the stuffing!!! My kinda' gal.. always improvise!! Thanks for making me smile today!! Hugs, GrammaBabs
Greetings from Oz...Never seen these before, I watched another video, it was very complicated & involved lots of pins, 14 for each pair of squares!! Whoar!!!!,,,,,you make everything so easy, I love it...when I get my machine working again, I am gonna try this.. Fab!! You make me feel so happy, too, top marks for your work... Sylvia x
That is an awesome idea and one I am sure to use. Thanks for sharing. I was not sure that minky would work in a rag quilt and I am so excited to try this.
Thank you for a great quilt tutorial. I plan to add weighted poly pellets to each pocket to make a DIY weighted blanket! (Thanks to Charlotte for the idea and your link!)
OK that's not me. My husbands profile. Thank you so much for sharing this on you tube. I don't know what I would do without your lessons. I couldn't afford to go to any class and don't know anyone who could teach me. You are so clear in your lessons. Godd Bless you for sharing your talent. I am ever so grateful. Your work is so beautiful.
I'm pretty new to quilting and this was not that easy or fast, but it was fun to make. Cuddle fabric is really messy! A walking foot on the sewing machine sure helped!
One small suggestion, I've made several "raggedy" quilts using simple flannel and it makes stitching blocks together to use a walking (even feed) foot. Seems to help keep the four layers of fabric aligned a little better. This is a darling project, thanks Jenny :D
LOve This quilt Jenny :0) I think I will be making it with my local fabric store minky in team colors instead of baby colors. It will be wonderful to cuddle with during our winters here in PA. Thanks again.
I love the way you teach! I'm a new subscriber and just ordered material from your company. I want to make these for my smallest grandchildren. Now to do it....
Great quick quilt! Ikea here in the UK sell fleece blankets in all sorts of colours for just £3. I think I'll buy some and make lots of charm squares for quilts for my cats
Super duper cute I will make some now for sure to sell at the Christmas craft fair I do every year in November. I had several ladies ask me where my baby rag quilts where last year. I had sold them all at another craft fair before the Christmas one last year sadly I was so thankful they asked I told them I should have them in this year.
I love your tutorials you are the only one I watch to learn new ideas, I was wondering if you could show me how to make a cross motif for a puff quilt I have instructions but they are so hard to follow I am better at watching and learning.thanks paintwithjhoy
