It is an amazing fishing destination, roughly 80 to 120 miles west off Hudson FL! Anyway, I learned about 10 years ago that fishing offshore on the Gulf is a young man's game, though there are ton's of fish to be caught!

Thank you for your service to our country.... Being offshore is the best place to see the stars! I've spent a number of nights offshore fishing and it's hard to describe how bright, and how many stars are visible. In the mid 1990's I was given the opportunity (Thank you Peter and son Pete Fleming) to cross from Honolulu to San Diego as a 'guest' on a Spruance Class destroyer, the USS Fletcher DD 992. Part of that trip was in the tail of a typhoon, (hurricane winds and 60' seas). Nature went from angry to major-pissed-off! We lost two helicopters and three men doing 'practice' maneuvers on that West Pac. (not during the storm) But the other downed copter was found/recovered and all on board were rescued. Goes to show how dangerous even 'practice' exercises can be.

You need to get out of your normal surroundings and start exploring more. Study your charts more and look them satellite views. @OutOnTheReef you know when I got people with me I usually take them to places where they catch fish and can swim and all that but when I'm out by myself like you are I always looking at virgin ground. Never know what kind of honey hole you'll find. You know just as well as I. When the hurricanes come rolling threw it turns the dirt up like a rototiller and it digs things up that ain't see anything for years. Me and a buddy of mine really like diving new areas so we can see the marine environment first hand and see what we find. Maybe next year we'll get you up north to the house and change your environment around and put you on some fish out at the oil rigs 😉😉😉
