Neil Diamond: Live in San Francisco February 1979

Taken from an in-store promo videotape from the early-mid 80's. This was used to advertise a greatest hits compilation they were releasing. All four performances in this video were from the You Don't Bring Me Flowers album released in November 1978. The video footage was filmed at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA in February 1979. Some of the other stuff on the promo tape were other things widely available on UA-cam such as the You Don't Bring Me Flowers performance with Barbara Streisand at the Grammys, The Heartlight promo video, the performance of Desiree from the I'm Glad You're Here with Me Tonight TV special, etc.

. . . I’m always baffled to read this sort of comment - ?.. May I ask just ‘why would that be?..’ Neil toured extensively for the lion’s share (by far)
over 50 years, played about 2,000 concerts - or more ; of these approximately 1,500 were in North America ?.. if that is where you have lived perchance?..

Seen him 7 times. First in 1976 in Perth when his voice was incredible. Felt he was starting to strain and scream until late into 50’s.

I think it is. It was definitely 79 at the cow palace, which is this video, where he was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.
I think there was only one show there on this tour.
When he came back in December 81, he sold out three nights in a row.
