There will never, ever, in this life time be another Neil Diamond, from a NEWFIE girl, now 70 and still rocking his music, he captures all genres and people and is handsome beyond words, and those green eyes, a forever fan living in Ontario, Canada.
From a similar woman in Chicago. In my 70s and still rocking his music. Handsome beyond words, just so disappointed that he is unable to do live concerts any longer. I know that he felt as much joy as we, the audience, did. I pray for good health and long life for the man who has meant so much to me and so many others. Love to you, Neil.
Should have run full songs. He is he best of all song writers/performers of the 20th 21st century. He wrote many songs for many other artists of the day. Long live the music of Neil Diamond!
It had to be in 1996 my daughter and I went to see Neil Diamond at Wembley Arena. One of the most amazing, stunning and memorable nights of both of our lives. Great respect to you Mr Diamond and so glad you have found happiness with the lovely Katie. Thank you.
I’m almost 80 and I have loved loved loved Neil’s songs for YEARS and YEARS! He is just magnificent as a performer and a man! No other can beat him! 👍💜💜💜
I'm a forever Neil Diamond fan! His music has been a big part of my life since I was in my teens and I'm in my 70's now. Neil Diamond is a great songwriter and a fabulous singer.
My husband introduced me to Neil Diamonds music when I met hi 3:31 m in 1971, I was hooked from that moment on, 53 years later I still love him, the voice, the music, the songs, there will never be another Neil
There are wonderful performers who entertain us for a while and then over time their songs disappear into only our memories. Neil Diamond’s music will be heard, sung, and loved hundreds of years from now.
He is definitely one of a kind, my husband and I just love his music since we were young in school. I have also been diagnosed with Parkinson and have been dealing with since 2010 ,I know what he's going through. God bless him.l love❤❤you Neil 😅. Be positive
I was introduced to Neil Diamond in the 70's thanks to my parents, in particular their love of Hot August Night....Quite simply the greatest singer/songwriter there has ever been...
My mom who was a huge fan got me into Neil Diamond way back when I was just a kid. And I grew to really like his music. But I have to say, he was an absolutely AMAZING performer live. For example Holly Holy, which is a good song on the original album, is absolutely riveting when he performed it live like on Hot August Night.
Totally agree with you. I will add two points out of curiosity - 1 Hot August Night is one of the best Live albums ever yet for some unknown reason is never included in many top live album lists and 2 Diamond has an excellent singing voice but was not regarded as a good singer by those who should know better (in a laughable singers list, Rolling Stone did not list Diamond but had Lou Reed and Bob Dylan in their top 20 - after seeing Lou Reed I was on the lookout for Leo Kottke as #1 but alas, no, I was to be disappointed with that one). You might also check out an earlier Neil Diamond live album 'Gold'.
i discovered Neil Diamond in my teens - in the 1970s.......my grandson has grown up loving his songs, humming them, singing them - thanks, Neil Diamond for all the wonderful music - Bless you, always
I became a Neil Diamond fan when I first heard Holly Holy. The first album I bought was actually a cassette of Neil Diamond performing Live and titled 'Gold'. Long may he live and reign.
@ianraper4304 Wow weird coincidence that's the very first record I heard of his at age 8 going on 9that made me a lifelong fan. My second oldest sister had gone to a concert with some school friends and bought the record on their way home. I'm now 60 and his music is still some of my most favorite.
I saw Neil Diamond every time he came to Seattle, WA. Each time I fell in love with his music again. I had an extensive collection of his records, the only one I missed was his first album on the BANG label. The beauty of his songs can bring tears to my eyes, my favorite song was “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother “.
I have loved Neil Diamond for more than 50 years. The sound quality and the visual quality varies a lot in the clips. The early clips are particularly nice.
The great thing about all the comments is that NO ONE complained about the list! Everyone just sang his praises! What a perfect tribute to this magical man!
As a kid he was a saving grace for me, giving me relief from a tragic childhood. Thank goodness for all of the comfort Neil Diamond has given people in this world.
I saw Neil Diamond in concert long time ago (I’m 75) and just when I thought I had heard all his hit songs he would sing another one. He gave us so many wonderful songs.
Neil Diamond u r the greatest song writer & singer. Always loved u since i was very young. Many great nights i had with friends to ur music & songs. Tks such much. Prayers for ur health. 🙏❤ ❤
I've been a fan for over 50 years. In the early 2000s, I made a list of what I thought then were the 5 most famous Neil Diamond songs: "I'm a Believer", "America", "Red, Red Wine" (because of UB40's version), "You Don't Bring Me Flowers", and "Solitary Man". I didn't rank them because I kept changing my mind as to where each one would fit. And yet, one song I never even considered for that list is far and away his most famous now. Of course I'm talking about "Sweet Caroline".
I saw him live in concert in 1979 - when he would have been about 38 years old. An absolutely magical performance, never forgotten. He knew how to involve the audience! His voice was more resonant when he was younger. I regret not going to see him when he was here in the late 1990s and owe my friend Stuart an apology for that! But hey, I got to see a lot of the best musicians of the time , live, over many genres and I can go back and see it all again in memory!
Hes been my idol right from the start and still is at 71 , I've past my luv to my children that r older now and think he's the best and he is , not a day goes by without playing Neil's music , ❤️ no one else can replace him a true hero , we luv him xxx seen all his concerts in Nz xxxx
I am just throwing this out here, amongst fellow lovers of his music, but you know he is still kickin’ tail. Do you think sometimes about such gifted people like Neil Diamond, he just celebrated his 82nd birthday…. St the end of the day when everyone he sees knows him and his talent, what good it would do his soul for him to come across a person that didn’t know him or his legendary music and for him to sing it again for the first time? Where the beautiful backdrop of the tune draws them in and then the lyrics sink in the way it did for all of us? It seems to me that someone that is possibly surrounded by people that have heard and loved his music would want to lay it out in front of a new set of ears and see if it really was timeless. It is timeless. And we can do that for our kids. If they set their phones down and we let them listen deeply, they can make connections like we all did, I think. Now I am just rambling. LOL but all my 5 grown kids like his music, and I feel like in time they will appreciate it even more as they show his legacy to my grandchildren.
For me, Neil will always be the best. Since age 7, I was absolutely thrilled by his music and the words of a song. And yes, he is also very soft on the eyes. Such a dream for me ❤😊
Sadly, I never got to see Neil Diamond in person. I have loved his music since the sixties, even the songs that others did. I will miss not hearing a new album from him.
Thank you Neil Diamond for your beautiful music and singing. You got me threw a life threatening medical and surgical procedure. When I thought I wouldn't make it I would have the nurses put your music on for me and it calmed me. I have been to three of your concerts and sang your songs with you and cried at times. I am a nurse that just retired after 50 yrs of nursing and I hope you can find someone or something that can help you when the Parkinson's gives you a bad day. I am sure you have helped many people and didn't even know it but this person wanted you to know!!!!!! Thank you!!!!! I do have a bucket list and seeing you in concert is checked off!!
This is an excellent list! we could pick 100 Neil Diamond songs and put them into groups of 10 and you would have 10 more excellent lists. He is that prolific!
Love Neil Diamond....his was my very first live concert I attended in Seattle...then his was also my last (so far) concert at the Cow Palace in San Francisco!
Got most of his lps . Been listening to him in the Seventy’s till now. I’m seventy one now and still listening . Got the chance to watch him twice. The best time in my life. It made me closer to the divine providence.
I like the inclusion of "Beautiful Noise" and "Soolaimon" because they are great songs that don't get much recognition. Two songs missing here are "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show" and my favorite "If You Know what I mean."
Here’s 5 tunes that are often overlooked in his best of lists….1) Walk on Water, Coldwater Morning, Yes I Will, Mother’s Daughters fathers and sons, Dear Father….
My girlfriend who has passed away was from Boston and the song Sweet Caroline is a Boston song. Everytime I hear it, it puts a smile on my face and a tear in my eye as we sang it often. Thank you Neil for those memories
It's wonderful to see younger folks learning about Neil Diamond. Of course I'm disappointed that "Brother Love's Salvation Show", and "Cherry Cherry" didn't make the list, but understandable, since this guy cranked out something like 30 hit albums.
Neil Diamond has sold over 140 million records worldwide making him one of the best selling artists in music history. He gained some early success and recognition as a songwriter for "Sunday and Me", a 'TOP 20 Hit' for Jay & the Americans in November 1965. Soon followed by the release of his own singles, "Solitary Man" and "Cherry Cherry" in 1966. According to the "Recording Industry Association", Diamond has sold 50 million albums in America alone. #Billboard has him ranked as the "25th Greatest Artist of All Time". In a career that spanned well over 50+ years, Neil "cranked out" ... ** 32 studio albums + {16 charted on Billboards TOP 10} ... ** 35 compilation albums {Greatest Hits etc etc} ... ** 8 LIVE albums ... ** 94 singles + {scored 38 TOP 40 Singles} ** 2 Soundtracks + "Johnathon Livingston Seagull" ~ 1973 ~ Neil won a Grammy Award the following year. + "The Jazz Singer" ~ 1980 ~ Selling 6+ million copies earning Neil {and the album} 'Multi-Platinum' status. Neil has achieved record sales with ** 40 Gold Albums ** 21 Platinum Albums {selling 1 million} ** 11 Multi~Platinum {selling 2+ millions} Neil Diamond is the ONLY artist to score a TOP 20 hit in each decade SINCE the CREATION OF 'Billboards Adult Contemporary' Chart' ... NOT Elton John, Bee Gee's, Micheal Jackson, Barbara Streisand, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra {ALL great artists in their own right!} or others alike from the 60's to present day. The 'Adult Contemporary Chart' debut in #Billboard Magazine on July 17, 1961. It has also been referred to as 'Easy Listening' or 'Middle of the Road'. Just saying ... 😇😎😄💎
Che emozione. Una carrellata di successi fra cui 2 tradotti in italiano. E cantata da 2 cantanti italiani che, per loro fu un successo. Come sempre ti dico. CIAO
I also Neil came into my life at the age 16 driving with the radio blasting Neil Songs now at 77 still jamming with Neil I belivevi have about 100 45 33 tapes cassette and still bying I hope he may continue his excellent life plus my wife and I been to about 6 concerts
So glad I got to see him live 2 times. My wife saw him in 1972 at the original Hot August Nights at The Greek. She was the love of my life and still is even after her passing almost 10 years ago.
These are indeed fantastic!!! I would love to interview him and ask him, one songwriter to another, what was in his mind, heart, thoughts when he wrote his songs.
No- one can sing like him, or make an audience have fun or even fall in love with! There's no song of his I can critique on. Anyone can try to be like him, but to sound like him...,...never!! He touches my soul with his beautiful voice, his songs🎵 and him!!! I will love him forever.
My mother was probably the most avid fan on Neil's... she had every Album and listened to them often and growing up... I could sing them all from memory for years until his albums in the mid-late 80's when I moved out of my parents house. I like his stuff but not enough to keep up with the albums.. but when anything from heartlight and prior comes on, i still know the words...
This is a good list but while he wrote "I'm a Believer" it is more known as a Monkees song. I would replace it with "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show."
Yes it is true that "I'm a Believer" is known as a monkeys song, but what it did for Neil is, it established him as a composer, at the time one of the few songwriters that wrote the words and music to their songs, The Beatles being one exception of course.
Neil Diamond is quite handsome as will as great singer . I am one of his million fans who love him it’s saddened me to find out he is ill hope & pray he can survive his everyday living. Take care Neil 🙏😘(3/18/‘23
There will never, ever, in this life time be another Neil Diamond, from a NEWFIE girl, now 70 and still rocking his music, he captures all genres and people and is handsome beyond words, and those green eyes, a forever fan living in Ontario, Canada.

Hate this list. He has more of a better repertoire of songs
I’ve seen him and taken my children to his concerts! There is nothing like it. I’ve been to dozens of concerts and he is one of my top two!
Should have run full songs. He is he best of all song writers/performers of the 20th 21st century. He wrote many songs for many other artists of the day. Long live the music of Neil Diamond!
Imagine doing that and adding another 10 songs that weren't included here!
I can listen to this guy all day long…. Amazing

I was introduced to Neil Diamond in the 70's thanks to my parents, in particular their love of Hot August Night....Quite simply the greatest singer/songwriter there has ever been...
Same here!! Every time I hear a Neil Diamond song, I think of the seventies and my parents. My favourite is Solitary Man.
He can't even CARRY bob dylan's guitar. cheers

Neil Diamond has brought so much joy to me and millions of others during his lengthy career, he should be a national treasure.

I became a Neil Diamond fan when I first heard Holly Holy. The first album I bought was actually a cassette of Neil Diamond performing Live and titled 'Gold'. Long may he live and reign.

Lucky you. God bless you.
My husband has PArkinson’s and I am a witness to the disease. I’m so glad he has family and still has that wonderful voice.😇
I have loved Neil Diamond for more than 50 years. The sound quality and the visual quality varies a lot in the clips. The early clips are particularly nice.

Who's listening? I'm busy looking! Watching his face while he's singing...I just about pass out from the heat!

Two more good choices. Thank you.
I am really surprised, because in Germany "Beatiful noise" is as famous as "Sweet Caroline". 😮
So many terrific songs and such a beautiful voice!! Thank you Neil Diamond!!

Just a fantastic list 😍💫😇
Thank you very much
To whittle down all Neil's Top Ten songs is agonizing to say the least. With so many favourites to choose from its just not possible.
No- one can sing like him, or make an audience have fun or even fall in love with! There's no song of his I can critique on.
Anyone can try to be like him, but to sound like him...,...never!! He touches my soul with his beautiful voice, his songs🎵 and him!!! I will love him forever.
❤❤NEIL SO FANTASTIC, FANTASTIC, He Touches I BELIEVE Someone ❤❤With a lot of his songs 🎵 !!! God Bless 🙌 🙏 ❤️ 💖 ✨️ 🌹🌹🕊🕊
I like Neil diamond music.
My list is longer...but your picks are great!!
