Great Demonstration of our coral fragging saw! If I may add a tip to installing and uninstalling the the blade. Install the blade first then install the bottom sponge, do the reverse when removing the blade. This is also helpful because you can leave your saw in tune and not have to readjust each time. Another good tip in cleaning the saw is to remove the upper wheel from time to time, sediments will build up making it difficult to remove later.
I don't know how you do it but the way you film your tank always makes me feel like I am in the room watching the tank with you, rather than watching it through a camera. There is no distortion, no bluriness from the lights, the picture is so clear that you can see every detail like in real life. There are many awsome you tubers with beautiful tanks but I haven't seen anyone who can film a tank in a way that makes you feel like you are in the room. How do you do it, Mark?
I'm not sure, and thank you. Probably it's how I edit, or how I frame the shot. I'm pretty critical of what I film, but have to work within the constraints set by my budget, but overall things seem to be recorded quite well.
I was looking for videos on the saw and came across yours. GREAT video on the saw but I am totally fascinated by coral fragging, and had no idea about coral piecing. Wow!!
thank you for this video.. it is 4 yars old.... but i got my c-40 today.. i am sooooo excited. tonight i am going to try it out.. fragging some chalice and acans... wish me luck ;)
Great video. Would like to see a detailed walkthrough of all the corals in your tank. Love the big view but you have tons of smaller corals that im interested in seeing. Thanks and keep it up :-)
I have that same scar on my neck I had to get operated on my back is that what you had to do. we could be twins I love the reef Hobby been doing it for years like 30 but I love to frag so I can give corals to everybody anyways love your videos
Once again great video. You have that many subs cuz you do very informative highlights quality videos. Besides diving videos I would like to see a simple tank update was wondering how the refugium bounced back after you cleaned it and did it effect the tank at all
Remember to change out the water between corals. You will have a higher survivability. The only negative I see here is the fact that you're recirculating coral goop filled water through the fresh cut. Some of the cheaper precision saws have that little water bottle on the side instead of recycling the water and I find that a much better idea. Of course, I remove that too and put a 5 gallon bucket as the water container.
Its an unfortunate design flaw of these saws. Usually people don't realize the issue when they're making 1-4 frags as having a loss is expected. When making up in the hundreds its much easier to notice. There will also be that one person that uses fresh water instead of salt and has all their frags die.
Awesome video! Definitely going to get one of these after I have a reef capable of fraging...or maybe I can rent yours ;-) Great work! How about a video on dosing pumps. Different uses, how they work and how to dose correctly :-)
Be careful about some sponges. They seem to come with a soapy substance on them. It might be better to use a natural sponge. Just a thought. Also, I’ve been watching this video to learn about the saw but find the coral interesting. Perhaps if you can, it might be nice to either do another one or explain (wait…let me just say this is the first video of yours I’ve watched so far so it might exist already) everything about coral and show it up close as well. There was one so far that you showed a picture of and it was beautiful! But everything I’ve seen so far makes the coral look brown or black with no color. Also, this might be a stupid question but because the coral is living, does it feel any pain from cutting it like that? Thanks very much! (As you can tell I know nothing about coral but would love to learn. I’ve only ever seen one other video about fragging coral. How difficult is it to take care of? Is the main reason it’s done for profit? Thanks so much! Doreen
I love both of them. Just had someone come over yesterday, the person that helped me film this video. He saw the dark green skimmate it collected and today he bought one of his own. They do what I need, hardly use any electricity, and are dead silent. What are the negatives?
The best tool is a refractometer. I use a digital one that gives me a readout: www.reefaddicts.com/content.php/384-Product-Review-Milwaukee-Digital-Refractometer
I'm wondering who you talked into giving you that lol I'll say Melevreef you do get a lot of free stuff buddy make a video about how other reefers can do that it would help us all out
I'm pretty much using all the Elos test kits these days. You can see the five I use here: melevsreef.com/catalog/chemicals-media And I have a video doing some testing using a magnetic stirrer here: ua-cam.com/video/it_wAB7TlRo/v-deo.html
Yup, it is excellent. Just had to adjust my lower wheel
Thank you for showing the saw and for showing the cleanup at the end, I know that is so important with saltwater!

Four luck. It’s a great tool, I just used mine a few days ago in fact.

Thank your for posting that. I did mention it at one point in the video, but it was a quick 5-second PSA. :)

Nice video!
great video!
Can i cut agate stone with it? With a hardness if 7-8
I don’t know.
I have one of those saw but it's the smaller one is hard getting stuff underneath it and sometimes you can't so can I have yours hahaha
There's a saying you'll recognize: Go big or go home. :)
Aqua addicts in New Hampshire give it to me when they close down I can't complain
But anyways I like the way you take care of the diamond cut saw
I liked this vid!
omg... our tank!
where can I buy this Gruphon saw at a good price?
Maybe used on Marketplace or eBay. It’s only gotten more expensive since Covid.
duuude! you left the water running forever at the end.. what is up with that?!
How are those nyos skimmers doing? Looking for a newer one, allot of negative reviews on them

my question is how do you measure salt per gallon

*Can you make custom sump baffles but in black acrylic? (on your shop)*
I can, yes. They cost a little more.
melevsreef also I live in north Texas and how does local pick up work?
If you are able to stop by, shipping is unnecessary. I'm in Fort Worth, Texas.
I'm wondering who you talked into giving you that lol I'll say Melevreef you do get a lot of free stuff buddy make a video about how other reefers can do that it would help us all out
I bought it at MACNA in Denver two years ago. I just didn't open the box until I was ready to use it. :)
Nice ,great buy buddy
How many gallons is your frag tank and what kind of lights are on it?
It's a 60g system, and those lights are LED lighting by Reef Angel.
melevsreef Thank you! I really enjoy your videos! (Especially the length!)
Where did u get the shirt
Here you go: www.melevsreef.com/node/1819
melevsreef does it hurt them when you cut them?
No, I don't believe corals have a pain receptor.
o good :)
which test kit you use
I'm pretty much using all the Elos test kits these days. You can see the five I use here: melevsreef.com/catalog/chemicals-media And I have a video doing some testing using a magnetic stirrer here: ua-cam.com/video/it_wAB7TlRo/v-deo.html

and i liked the video
please read me videos soon as possible love yourself👍
What?
BS.Coral is easy to cut.
Some are very easy to cut. Others are more dense. And this tool is great for those situations where you want accuracy.
