These are ALL amazing ideas girl! I do have one piece of advice that I thought might help others. Before placing your clay into the bowl that you're using as a mold, lay the clay flat on perfectly flat cling wrap. That allows the bottom of the clay to kind of adhere to the cling wrap, so that you avoid it wrinkling whilst doing it the opposite was as you did in the video 😁 hope this helps you or some of your viewers get a cleaner bottom on their trinket dishes!
I've been having more fun searching the house for things I can make clay molds out of - drawer knobs/pulls off of antique furniture and some vintage ones that I collected over the years. I look for things at the thrift store that have a pretty design that I can press clay on. Love it!
I’ve used, stamps, cake decorator things, lace, doily’s, real pine needles, small leaves but I did Christmas cookie cutters to cut them out. I’ve added lil gems, pearl beads. Some sold really well some didn’t. I use a very thin spatula to lift up my ornaments.
You are right---I will never look at empty glass jars the same way again! Thanks for all your ideas and for being so generous in sharing your techniques.
I love this video Deidre, I’ve only just started using air dry clay so this video is fantastic for me. I’ve been wanting to make some small little trinket/key bowls and I love the way yours turned out. I’ll definitely be trying them now and I’ve been going to make my own beads but haven’t done it yet. I will be doing some of them too. Thanks for the inspiration. TFS with everyone.
Great video. I’ve worked with clay ( stoneware, polymer and air-dry ) for years and you showed a few items for making impressions that even I hadn’t thought of. And using the teaspoon measure - genius !
How fun this video is. I used to do art therapy with children and what fun clay was. Now with air dry I can really have fun. My grandson will love playing with this kind of clay for making gifts. Thank you very much for your inspiration.
Thank you so much for this video. I have been wanting to try the air dry clay and you give such good ideas and ways to dress up your projects without costing a lot of money.
Thank you for this great video. You're absolutely right, there are so many things in our kitchens that we can use in craft projects. I use cookie cutters, especially the ones I've got in the shape of numbers from 0 to 9. They're great for cutting out the number 13 or 31 for Halloween. And one time I wanted to put an IOD Transfer on a piece of fabric and, in a drawer in my kitchen, I found a big roll of white napkins that I bought years ago that look like they're made of fabric, but are meant to be used and then disposed of. And they were perfect for painting and applying the transfers to. I used Air Dry Clay in an IOD mold to make some frames for them and they turned out really well. You could do the same thing with any light coloured cotton like fabric, and you can seal the transfers with Mod Podge or any sealant. Love from Amanda Jones in Australia ❤
I have a question, I was gifted one of those vintage ceramic christmas trees. I didn't care for that dark green glaze, so I sprayed it white, love it, the bottom of the largest piece of the tree is broken about the opening where the light goes in, it is a triangle of ceramic missing, can I use air dried clay to fill in that space? it isn't a weight baring place, and you can't see the brake but would love to repair it so it won't get worse, if not air dry clay what product do you suggest I use? thank you, first time viewer.
Does the reverse graphic transfer technique work on stretched canvas? I need to make a large sign (36x24) of a fairly long quote. I was going to paint it by hand but the reverse graphic transfer would save me a lot of time.
Wow! Loved this video!!! Fantastic tutorial!! Definitely want to try this. But now I will watch how to make your own silicone molds!!! Ty for taking your time to provide all this information!! Love your videos!!!!
The jug is awesome, worth all the work you put into it. Most if the clay imprints are in your other video, but I did pick up a few new ideas. I’d like to try your silicone molds. I’ve already made your paints and clay, which I loved and lasted a long time. I’ve also learned that my IPad will reverse my graphics I made with an ink jet printer, but I took them to Staples to reprint with a laser jet printer. I could see the difference in color sharpness and depth, but anxious to decoupage them on wood to get a better outcome. You make me go outside the box and so glad you do.
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you create all these amazing items with air dried clay. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing all your tips & experience with us - love your beads ❤️as usual your sign is awesome , but I know what to do now with all my glass jars 😀
Amazing!I have used Stencils on the Clay!Love all of your Video today, esp clay on the picture frame for a Mould! Thank you so much!I will have to Binge your Videos now!!❤
I thought I was good at thinking outside the box, but your use of different things to create textures sure opened my eyes to new possibilities! I subscribed!
I just subscribed today (01/15/2024). These are great tips, thank you! I tried using air dry clay for Christmas 2022. It did not turn out good 😂😂😂. Let's just say it was a learning experience. Using the shutter slats for a guide would have helped me a lot. Knowing about corn starch for stickiness would have saved me a lot of frustration. I am looking forward to watching more of your videos. ❤
Might you know if you can make a Sculpey cast from a silicone mold? Great to see that you can do an air-dry clay. I don't like resin. LOVE your sign!!! Can it be sealed without smearing the ink? One last question - when selling signs, how do you find boxes to send them in?
I really love your channel. You teach us so many great things. I am a 79 disabled so I like watching your channel. I have plans to follow along on your air dry clay, incorporate Bible verses and give them to shuttle van drivers and passengers on the van. Keep up the outstanding work. Where can I get your recipes for making chalk paint and any other recipes you have

Hi Deidre, I love all you do, create, inspire, so much to learn. 🌷. As an Australian, prices are extreme here. Especially mod podge. What else would give the gorgeous results you have with your reverse graphic transfers. I have Lazer. It's the glues I need to work on getting that professional look on my signs for selling. 💓🌷
