Well, guitar is an instrument with many uses, like recording it to your dubstep songs, getting effect pedals (filters, distortion etc) to make it sound like dubstep basses, compose songs on it and then add dubstep stuff etc.. But even if you spend a lot of time, money and effort on guitar gear and such, you will still be limited if you want to make your own dubstep music like this song (Au5 - Snowblind).
Some examples: SeamlessR - Steel Core, Celldweller - New Elysium, Varien - Gunmetal Black (in the drop) oooor search for "metalstep" and you will find lots and lots

I do not use an amp for these vids, I plug my effects processor(s) (Digitech rp255 & sometimes Zoom g3x) straight into my computer through usb output & experiment with equalizers a lot, on each vid I use a different setting, depending on the song.
