New one i.e. 2017 version looks much more sensational in looks (although looks are subjective) plus interesting console and headlight cluster plus a sweet sounding exhaust plus more comfortable seats plus less heat for the legs plus slipper clutch plus ride-by-wire (gives crisp throttle response) plus bigger and confident inspiring brakes... So all in all, my pick would be the new KTM Duke 390... Surely a practical machine... What it misses is just and just a sigh in pick-up and top speed perhaps due to older one being the lighter one... But I have too touched 170 in sixth gear... Nice video by the way... ;-)
I really don't like when the successor can't live up to the example what the predecessor had set!

I think it's a good trade-off. I don't mind sacrificing a little top end whack in order to get more reliable engine with good heat management, better console, better looks, seating posture, better mileage and overall a better bike.

Have you ever faced an issue of valve clearance? My RC390 produces a ticking sound whenever i start nd if I'm not wrong, it's the valve clearance. Isn't it?
