- Took a tiny break from Another Eden to play Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster, which is an awesome refresh one of my favourite JRPGs of all time. Available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 (also playable on my PS5), what's so good about it? Here are some major updates to the game.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series (ファイナルファンタジー ピクセルリマスターシリーズ, Fainaru Fantajī Pikuseru Rimasutā Shirīzu?) is a series of remakes of the first six numbered titles in the Final Fantasy series. The titles all use one unified engine running on the Unity game engine.
About Final Fantasy VI (Wikipedia):
Final Fantasy VI,[a] also known as Final Fantasy III from its initial North American release, is a 1994 role-playing video game developed and published by Square for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the sixth main entry in the Final Fantasy series, and the first to be directed by someone other than series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi; the role was instead filled by Yoshinori Kitase and Hiroyuki Ito. Long-time collaborator Yoshitaka Amano returned as character designer and concept artist, while composer Nobuo Uematsu returned to compose the game's score, which has been released on several soundtrack albums.
Set in a world with technology resembling the Second Industrial Revolution, the game's story follows an expanding cast that includes fourteen permanent playable characters. The narrative deals with the themes of a rebellion against an immoral military dictatorship, pursuit of a magical arms race, use of chemical weapons in warfare, depictions of violent and apocalyptic confrontations, several personal redemption arcs, teenage pregnancy, and the renewal of hope and life itself.
Final Fantasy VI received widespread critical acclaim, particularly for its graphics, soundtrack, story, characters, setting, and mature themes, and won numerous awards. It is widely considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time, and is often cited as a watershed title for the role-playing genre. The game was a commercial success, with the Super NES and PlayStation versions selling over 3.48 million copies worldwide by 2003, as well as over 750,000 copies as part of the Japanese Final Fantasy Collection and the North American Final Fantasy Anthology.

Hey mate, from what I know I think the only real difference is the font, and the ability to increase XP, Gil and AP points (not 100% on that one - do you have that option with your Steam version?)
@@aeadventures The versions I'm talking about are the ones preceding the pixel remasters, like FF3 3D or the FF6 based on the mobile release. Theses versions have additional dungeons or end/post-game content. I think they're gonna release the upgrades from the console versions to steam later though.
Wheres the intro cut scene before you even start the game and is the fmv cut scenes?

No news yet about a global release yet from what I know :( There were a lot of bugs they had to fix though. I hope they do release it internationally

@@aeadventures- Maybe Square-Enix will release a follow up version called Final Fantasy I-VI: Pixel Remaster Complete Edition.
I like Final Fantasy VI, but I also like Higher Resolution Font. I just don't like how small it is.
And I'm planning to play it in Japanese.
Did you end up playing the Japanese version? Curious to know if the font is better

There is absolutely no reason why the people have to be so huge in the over world they could of done so much more but instead they chose to do something really dumb like make the people huge for no reason it's only in this one too like seriously?

Nah, this versión of FFVI is just pure bullshit.
They don't include dragon den and soul shrine dungeons and the new espers and summons.

I’m an idiot, as I thought they had to be the full version of the game, so I bought it. Imagine my disappointment when I figured out all GBA contents is missing. Hating SE for doing this
I bought the Switch physical from Play Asia for $90. Easily worth it. 6 of the most iconic JRPGs of all time for $15 a piece? Yeah... ill take that all day

Funny thing is I been knocking out FF2 lol, My favorite of the 6. I plan to hit 4 and 6 after I rebeat 2 again. Man I have 2 on almost everything from the ps1 to the Switch.
