One of the main differences with the Play Asia version that I really like is that you can actually buy it.
Glad I have the Playasia version coming. That artwork inside is a nice extra touch.
The really big difference between the two is that you can actually buy the Play Asia version!
As a collector I love it when a game has reverse cover art, specially when it's designed to be used as an alternate cover. It costs the publisher mere cents, but it adds so much value for us consumers.
bro the fact that the play-asia one has the inside print is so scuffed after SquareEnix charged $75 + shipping for just the game. Huge L
Way to go above and beyond Square Enix USA.. 🙄 I've ordered some products from the main SE site, I swear their employees hate themselves more than I hate myself. The weird week offs they take shipping anything + $20 and up shipping fees, they don't want our business.💀

The US version is much more expensive than to play Asian version only because of the ESRB rating. On eBay the US version has a sell value of $400 plus. The play Asia version goes up to $120 dollars
I almost always go for Play-Asia versions if I can't find the NA version. There's a lot of skepticism and whatnot, but I can just assure you: they are the exact same game in the language your console is set to. That's it. You want Grandia HD collection? You can either get the "Limited Run Games" edition for hundreds of dollars, or the Play-Asia one for like, $40.
Yeah as a collector I'm telling you in general Asian /Japanese versions are just better a lot of times.
Happy I ended up with the PA version now. Not having to have all the PEGI and ESRB crap sprawled all over things makes them look nicer.

I fomo'ed the play Asia version. When I heard you could change the music to the original soundtracks I was sold. Us console players got the definitive version which is awesome and appreciated 😊.
REALLY appreciate the deep-dive comparison on this! I was actually holding out to see if I ever came across the USA version, but actually looking at this, not only is the software identical, but the Play-Asia box actually looks a whole lot nicer. Great to know!
OMG! I'm so glad this video came through my feed! I ordered the Play Asia version yesterday. I live in the US. Even though it says it's region free, I always am afraid it won't work properly.
