I am really impressed with how you place principles as a priority and layer it into you project. It helps a great deal to internalize what you are saying, and I can’t wait to try it with my own projects. You are a very good teacher
I have spent a lot of time trying to understand attributes (including reading the manual) and you are the ONLY PERSON ON THE INTERNET who is explaining it properly - which is to explain it from a data-centric point of view and a structural (blender's structure) point of view.

@@bUildYT @bUildYT that is so true and I feel the same even though they are powerful it requires so much time and imagination of thinking what you do, but they are really powerful to create many things which takes ton of time in normal work flow, I prefer pre made blender geonodes addon though it requires money it is a good investment
@@vinay0arts i actually start to like them, if u always imagine what the next node does to ur verticies its actually quite cool, cause everything u see in blender r points in 3D space, and no matter if u move them in object, edit, sculptmode or with geo nodes, its all somehow the same... but now to the sample nodes^^ how exactly do i have to set them up so that the fence posts react to the path?
You're indubitably the best blender teacher. I love everything, I've learned so much and your didactic is so perfect. But I have to say, I had a very hard time concentrating in this tutorial because the mouse was invisible. Maybe it's just me because I have ADHD, but it was really tough.
FWIW, you can use multiple 'Group Input' nodes to prevent running routes all over the place. It can be helpful if you leave the group input within a frame, then you can hide unused portions of the group input or whatever as usual. P.S. Multiple group outputs don't quite work this way.
The definition of attribute you showed is that as a verb, to attribute a cause to something. However, the noun definition of attribute is actually that which computing and geometry nodes uses, the property or characteristic of something. No need to conflate the two.
Question - for path fence, why not just use the Path's value between, say, 20 and 50, as a selector for Instance on Points? That would enable even controlling the thickness of a fence with just one weight painting layer, or completely disabling a fence in a location by just choosing a brush with no falloff.

Thank you so much for making this series! I'm thoroughly enjoying each chapter, and this one is thus far my favourite! So many possibilities with "just" one attribute. One thing that is bothering me in this artwork, is that those horizontal curve lines connecting the fence poles are going across the path. Is there any way they can disconnect when crossing the path (attribute), the but still keep the fence poles connected over the grass area ? Thank you again for this series, I have just started learning geo nodes, and your videos are really the best!
Awesome tutorials boss, i have been following the Geonodes series and i have to say, it has been comprehensive. thank. Please, just a littel help, in blender 3.6 the TRANSFER ATTRIBUTE is missing and i have tried some of the nodes to make it work but none has been successful. i'll appreciate if you can help with few tips to go around this.
Question What is the easiest way to transfer the texture from a mesh to a volume to mesh ( the object was turned into a volume and back again and has lost its UV qualities so how do I get the texture back on it? Thanks
Thing i don't understand is the difference between drag and drop and object to the geometry node, and add object info then add the object manually. It doesnt make the same result. Any id?
Hi! im following this awesome tutorial, but my fence not refreshing when im rotating it, i have to apply the rotation to the curve to have an update. why?
I had the same problem. I cleared all the transforms on the plane and grass (with ctrl+a) and that solved it. No more flat grass. It also helped with some issues with Distribute Points on Faces.
Sir, for few months I have been practicing Blender, but recently few of my friends who is working in VFX industry told me, no one use blender in this industry, so do you think it would be worth to practice Blender. Or I can learn other softwares like Maya and Houdini. Please reply.
Im using Blender 4.1.0 at 20:30. The "Musgrave texture" has been replaced by the "Noise texture", so I can't create the hilly terrain like that. Can anyone help me fix this?
when i using attribute to set material it doesnt work without set material in node flows i use set material and plug attribute in selection is it right
Hi! Thank you so much for your work. I got a question regarding the terrain and the Musgrave texture driving it. When I play with the values the height of the terrain is barely affected. There is a slight change in the elevation and I can see the scale of the texture on the terrain but its mostly flat. Do you know why this might be? My scale is applied to the terrain (plane) and I even made it smaller to match the size of it in the tutorial but no matter how much I tweak the scale of the Musgrave, the difference in height is insignificant. It's not that big of a problem for me though, since I might apply this node network to a customized terrain for a future project but it'd be nice to be able to generate different terrains like you did. I'm using 3.3 for this project.
Sir, I need some help. At 24:47 I am not able to delete geometry as you did my complete surface is deleting after a colorramp and it is not working with map range also. Please help me I am using Blender 3.2. Thanks in advance for the beautiful series.

Great tutorial! I feel raycast gives a better result than sample nearest surface, the latter does not always put the fences on the correct height.
