From 1968 or was it 69 to 1982 did the C3 body change? Or was it the same?
@@TCM215 it changed almost every year. From a bumper change, to even something as simple as changing the left and right blinkers from grey to orange.
I always thought this generation corvette was the coolest ever. This one is all that and then some, makes you really want to own a C3 Vett.

The C3 Corvette is the most underrated generation, but this will change the way auto enthusiasts look at it. Love your closeups of the highlights, Scottie! Another good one.

Scottie my bro-in-law has a 79 and a 07 drop top Vette sitting in his garage. The 79 needs lots of work. He and his cousin have been tinkering with it. They replaced the brakes and got it running. It has lots of potential! Love those style of Vettes! Nice One!!💪💪🤘

Great video Scottie what really blows me away about this car is that it's a 1980 Corvette. and they were able to put a 700 horsepower motor in the car ! that means to tell me that was a car with that much horsepower that kind of body style you better just hang on and fly! I gotta stop watching these Corvette videos because you're giving me a fever corporate favors that is lol. My best friend from high schools dad had a black '79 with red interior, I always wanted to know what happened to it, I wish I had it! ScottieDTV Well, the looks didn't match the Performance in my Opinion 85-95. I grew up with 'Corvette Summer' and wanting a 70-80 Corvette or Vette Stingray. To me, that was the SH*T! :D

I have always Loved the Look of these Vettes....it wasn't Mentioned but I would think the pumpkin and axle shafts have to be New or At least seriously built to handle the HP and Torque.... Awesome would be proud to own and drive this car.. nice work Scottie

The 80-82 Dana 44 differentials can be built to withstand some decent horsepower. Just ask Mike Dyer from Texas to build it for you with one of his custom caps and you will be kicking 550+HP ass no problem!

I know I'm late, but if you are still able to reply to this then please do. I'm probably about to get a 1980 vette, and I dont have much experience with older cars. Especially older sports cars. Do you have any pros and cons on this car? If so let me know. I really like the body style, and from what I've heard it's great for cruising. Thanks!

I had this same care and sold it for 8,000.00 a few years ago. Mine was stock but 100% original mine was dark green. If I would have seen this I would have still had it.
I think the value is going to increase on these and I agree....This one makes me want one to!!
Why would you keep your Vette if you viewed this video first? You didn't like your Vette enough, so you sold it....no amount of videos or magazine articles showing customization should make you change your mind.

Chrome bumper C3 are the best..but the late C3's are cool..but engine hp was limited. Put a LS3 in it with 700hp..haaa wow!!!!!! This car looks so cool. Imagine seeing this coming down the road? The interior looks like an updated C3 if it was still in production in the mid 1980's..haaa I'd like to see it burning rubber.

I have a 1981 vette and not loving the performance. So I am thinking about putting a 383 stroker with 500hp and an EFI, or should I go with an expensive ls3/6-speed set up @ ghost sniper.

Im in the processes of picking 1 up around here in LA,its going for 8,000-13,000 all working fine and only needing minor work done to then
I got mine for 5500. solid engine and non leak t-tops. buncha little things to fix but it was no issue at all

Really nice Vette and specially inside... But the wheels doesn't match... I 've got exactly the same one ( 1980 ) with a modified 454 and 6 gears manuel gearbox... A really bad ass SLEEPER ;-)

great style but just cost to much to modify, and in California with emissions how they are, it's not that easy to just drop in a bigger engine
Should be able to drop any California approved LS in it....Providing you can get the LS in that crazy state...lol
ScottieDTV anything after 75, requires smog here, had a friend with a 76 corolla 2 door he threw in a tundra v8,and had to get it registered with chp,dmv to get it to pass smog.. with ridiculous red tape fees at first
that's the same as the rest of the country....But Cali has always had stricter regulations to the rest...and I live in the the south...We don' have anything.... Just the way I like it...lol

You say the c3 is the eye sore of corvettes, what kinda crack are you smoking, the c3 all years are considered by most all people, car nuts or not the best looking years. Kinda makes the guy that build this car sound a little out of touch..
