    Awesome job dude, glad you modded the rear arm mod now, rather than finding out the hard way later. 😅 Looks like it should fit just fine the way you've done it, similar to what I ended up with. 👍

      Thanks man! It is a shame this issue was not stated when purchasing, but I was lucky to find out before it was all ready to go!

    Nice job again, would recommend using compressed air after welding to help distortion, 😎👍🏻

      @BadE30  Рік тому +1

      I have always been told to be wary of speeding up the cooling process when welding, it can develop martensite but you are potentially cooling fast enough to de-temper the steel and cause porosity or cracks.
      Luckily these were just small welds so no extreme distortion took place!

      @@BadE30 what are your plans for the e30, OEM+? Surprised you didn’t go for a 5 lug conversion and a BBK

    • @BadE30
      @BadE30  Рік тому

      OEM+ yeh, I want 15” wheels with big tyres, and 5 lug wheels are not as popular in the smaller sizes! Also got the big brake kit on the front, just kept the same at the rear as my goal isn’t tracking it etc

    Quick question, after sandblasting, the metal prep stage that you use, is that enough to allow the POR to adhere to the metal? I've been all over the internet and I can't seem to get a solid answer.

    • @BadE30
      @BadE30  Рік тому +1

      Hi. I have had a lot of experience with the paint and doing what exactly that, i have an no issues. In fact I have found it to be very versatile, the sandblasting creates a well etched surface, and the metal prep helps this as well!

    • @richardknowles1548
      @richardknowles1548 Рік тому

      Did you wash it after etch or straight to paint?

    • @BadE30
      @BadE30  Рік тому +2

      @@richardknowles1548 I washed it off, that’s why you can see a bit of flash rusting. I would recommend drying it as fast as possible once washed, either using a heat gun or compressed air

    How many coats of por 15 did you apply?

    • @BadE30
      @BadE30  Рік тому +1

      One coat is sufficient for the smooth surfaces. But on the cast surfaces, it usually takes two as the first coat sits into the shallow parts of the cast revealing the peaks

    very poor design of the strengthening kit by born to drift. you should not have to modify it especially as the modification you.ve done is going to weaken the strengthening. i found out the hard way when i put it all back together and it started to rub the fuel pipe

    • @BadE30
      @BadE30  Рік тому

      It should for sure state this issue, I presume it is for e30's with a modified fuel tank. Shame it wasn't mentioned to me until I purchased the kit, I am happy the structural integrity of the modified side is adequate, still a pain!
