The crash happened to me too. I believe that the “trying to spawn with not enough map” might have to do with it. My guess was standing on an x, causing an enemy to try to spawn far away, but it can’t
I haven't checked the code, but it could be that the spawning routine doesn't want to place enemies too near you, other spawns or too near the edges. It might be that the code repeatedly picks a random position and checks if it is valid for spawning the next enemy. Due to where you were standing and with the large number of spawns this created an infinite loop.
Lucky + Glutton was a fun run for me earlier today, you don't have to run pruner in order to gain decent stats (and didn't know it was a new challenge that was added with the recent GMO update).
i think it's primarily the amount of enemies spawning in. first, the buffer zone for enemy spawn covers the max area in the middle of the map so enemies have less area to spawn in. next, when the character model blocks a spawn, that spawn gets delayed by a few seconds and relocated. my guess is that since a wave spawns in a set amount of enemies per instance, the horde wave exacerbates the problem along with the hosts, the game is not able to compute where it can spawn enemies.
@@dartr045 well. normally when you block an enemy spawn. the game just relocates the spawn to somewhere else after a few seconds. but if everywhere else is getting spawns, then it really doesn't have anywhere to go. might be the game infinitely recomputing for spawn locations then it just crashes the memory.

Uhhh... Reto? Double One-Armed has a VERY strange interaction that you will want to investigate. It's also quite broken, but... not as much as you'd think, because of said strange interaction.
Does double cyborg work at all? Like, do you have 2 mini guns, and stil get engineering half way through the wave, or does the negative engineering modification stack and just leave you without any stats at all?
Double cyborg sounds insane, for the first half of the wave you would be insanely OP, but then you would be incredibly weak during the second half Edit: with double engineer you’d get these stats if I understood correctly You start with 2 Miniguns Ranged Damage modifications are increased by 500% 100% of your Ranged Damage are temporarily converted into Engineering halfway through a wave (1 Ranged Damage = 4 Engineering) Engineering modifications are reduced by 150% Melee modifications are reduced by 200% Elemental modifications are reduced by 200%
I wonder if smaller map size is even such a huge downside, like yes you have less enemies and they move slower, but you can also just hit enemies immediately and they are always clumped enought to hit a bunch of em at once (if you have AoE attacks), besides bosses and elites of course In regular map sized, the enemies can just become a huge problem if they stack up in the rear lines

Double explorer may be fun, HUGE map with just tons of trees and lots of enemies. Also the -80% damage should provide a nice challenge

Seeing the turrets do 95% of the boss damage was a thing of beauty

I love how the crash is just a result of a spawn bug that only occurs if you get tempted by the treasure trove in the center.
At 21:17, the game had similar logic of "Don't hate the player, hate the game.", and thought "If I can't kill the player, kill the game."
So now you have to do double explorer for sure.
If someone is curious, bullets DO improve turrets and landmines agains bosses. I checked it personally
I didn't know the mod allowed two of the same character. I may have to try some things like this.
