For me, this was a great review... to everyone complaining, there are already SEVERAL out there demonstrating it in a metal capacity, including Tremonti himself. But I want it for blues, rock and country, so this was perfect... thanks!
I just got mine yesterday and plugged it into my 2x12 v30 cab and this amp is absolutely great in clean and cranked! Sounds as good and it just as loud as my MESA Stiletto Deuce in 50 watt setting. So clear and articulate. It just ROCKS! Worth every dime and I will say the best Tube amp for the money I have ever tried or owned. The sound compression on UA-cam just does not let you really hear how good this amp really is.
I would love to see a rig rundown of John's own gear . He is a fantastic player and I would love to see what gear he likes enough to use on his own without having to review it .
Wanted to buy this amp from my guy at Sweetwater. Wouldn't sell me one because supposedly, they've recently had really had a rash of amps that had a lot of noise/LOUD hum. Sweetwater won't sell a one until sorted out from PRS. I pass no judgement. Really want this amp, but when a techie says "not yet," I listen.
i went to go test this amp as a complete metal head and i kept on going back to the clean channel cause its so good, im so excited to get it home, im just worried its gonna be a bit too loud for a bedroom hero like myself but fuk it ill see what to do about that when it becomes a problem
Did well man! I don't know. Right now I've got a Yamaha THR-10X which really punches above it's weight for a 10watt amplifier. People are always so surprised when they hear it in my room. And bonus for me it has Eddie's Brown sound setting in it. (make an editor for android/PC Yamaha!!) I'm actually thinking about getting the THR-5. as it's more of a cleaner amp, it should take pedals well (and allow me to practise later at night ;). Anyway, If I were to get a lunchbox size tube amp, it would most certainly be either this, or the Jim Root Orange terror amp.
I have one too. Keep it! its awesome for practicing. The MT 15 is meant to be a brand practice amp, more than a bedroom practice amp. Having the two will be the better choice ;)
Late to the show, but I run the THR-10X for rock and metal and the THR-10C for blues and cleans. as much as I want a lunch box and cab combo for my apartment, I just can't beat those two amps for what they do and their ability for me to run headphones as well as ultra low volumes late at night while maintaining great sound. I was tempted with this PRS MT15 and the EVH 5150 III LBX 2. Both have the ability to cut the power, but both are still infinitely louder than my THR's. which makes it really hard to be used in my apartment as practice amps. I do love this PRS, but this would be an amp that I only had a 2 hour window on a Saturday to really enjoy.
True review......Amp sounds flat dry and padded on the top.(probably partly the ribbon mic) Drive sounds more like pedal than amp? Midrange frequencies are likely to rob a vocal mix, however sound more suited for rythm than solo.
Another demo gone bad because when you use a guy who is not a high gain player on a overly high-gain amp means a bad review This amp really shines with the right kind of player just go check out some other videos and you'll see how awesome this amp is sorry John but you're just not doing it justice
Nice amp I would consider but I already have the Marshall dsl 20 with EL34s and a peavey 6505 mh 20 watt EL84s . The Marshall gain channel is heavy Smooth and organic and surprisingly headroom is unbelievable. the peavey is fun too but not as good as Marshall in sound and headroom.
Bob Boitt that’s what I thought. How is possible only putting out 15 watts? Unless the tubes run in parallel in which case it’d be closer to 20 I suppose...
Bob Boitt Watch the Phillip McKnight interview with Doug Sewell. It’s actually a 55 watt amp that Doug says he detuned, whatever that means in amp terms. Every review mentions how loud it is.
David White All their guitars other than the SE are made here so what are you talking about China! Have to make a lot of products over there to make a chipper for people who want a PRS! Do you have a clue our businesses Ron?
@@Rooster7six why you sold it? I'm thinking to get one, i only notice the dirt channel is so noisy, and you must get a noise gate, is that true, my ideal sound is mesa JP 2C, but i need to robe a bank for it :) any advises regarding MT15
G. E crazy because you’re like the 4th person to talk to me about the JP2c. I might need to buy one! Small metal amps just don’t have the balls like a 100 watt amp. Now I’m playing an Uberschall. That’s my favorite so far. A noise gate never helped me with noise. You run through the loop? Huge price difference between a jp2c and mt15!
Meh. It's ok. Nothing blowing my socks off here (and that includes other videos). I think the NAMM hoopla over this intro by PRS into the lunchbox game...along with the delay....has helped to keep the excitement strong but wait a few more months and you'll be able to scoop one up used for $450. When the 6505MH came out, people were falling over themselves that Peavey finally downsized the 5150 and now, you can't walk 20-feet in one direction without stumbling over someone selling theirs. GAS is real. Take advantage of those who are rushing to buy the MT15 now but will no doubt be littering reverb with 'em by October. Chinese-built lunchbox honeymoons are notoriously short-lived.

I am becoming consistently blown away by this guy's chops.
I would love to see a rig rundown of John's own gear . He is a fantastic player and I would love to see what gear he likes enough to use on his own without having to review it .
Watched a few demoes of this beauty , it's a 10 out of 10.
Glad to see some funky/clean tones used with this amp
I feel this was a bad review because an electrified acoustic was not used, I wanted to hear the true folk sound of this high gain metal amplifier.
You got a good giggle out of me with that one.
It wasn't designed for an acoustic.
Tele Thom that joke went WAAAYY over your head
@@horse_dog He's got to be trolling. Or that is one legendary WHOOSH moment.
Wow! Great clean tones and excellent high-gain tones!
great review....focusing on all the aspects of the amp and not just the high gain like other reviewers........
I love the tone of that thing. Nice.
Aaah the pre production model sounded too good to be true.
Me: "Nice, a demo on the MT15, I hope it sounds great"
*dad rock ensues*
Me: "Oh."
how could you NOT expect dad rock with a salt and pepper guy wearing jeans and a guitar related shirt playing a PRS? lol
There's much less sizzle when you go back up to full wattage. The amp breathes in a very different way.

The head is $650, decent price. I expected this to cost twice that.
Nice to see that Timothy Olyphant is good at guitar too
John could you do a video showing off all your guitars thatd b cool
Great review man, youve done it the way I might have. Also, your a great player!
Ordered mine ,4 months ago ...dang mail man must be rocking it
jason cherry found out yesterday mine's been delayed till november. Ordered it in April
Either of you got it yet lol?
Holy - well, WOW!
Dude, the mods on that SE one are sick! A B-bender? Very cool.
Thank you. The bender took some doing to squeeze into the body, I love it.
I want it just to for the multicolor tubes glow!!!
Sounds reasonably good

shoominati23 I have a THR 10x as well, it isn’t as loud as my little 5 watt tube amp.
I have one too. Keep it! its awesome for practicing. The MT 15 is meant to be a brand practice amp, more than a bedroom practice amp. Having the two will be the better choice ;)

I so want this amp! I want the cab voiced for it too, but wish it was a 2 x 12 instead of one by..
Brian Stewart it has a celestion v30, so there are tons of of 2x12s with v30s
I heard that the PRS 1x12 cab was voiced for the amp. You are right another brand 2x12 would sound great though!
Brian Stewart I would go for the Harley Benton 2x12. V30s, Great and Studio-Recordable Sound, and Cheaper than the PRS 1x12
I'd have to pay the shipping and customs fees to the U.S. It would end up more for me.
Brian Stewart around $350 for the Prs Cab and like $305 for the HB 2x12 incl. Shipping and fees
How can you crank up the master volume without blowing your windows?
John Bohlinger plays like a god!
Will we ever see the full review of the Origin Effects Revival Drive? It’s been a bit of time since the first look video. 🙂
I got mine a week ago and it was worth the 4 month wait..
Wish I could play as well as John. Cheers 🍺
it would be cool to see a review with something else a PRS guitar
True review......Amp sounds flat dry and padded on the top.(probably partly the ribbon mic)

The amp is more than a high gain amp. Your assessment couldn't be further from the truth.
I thought he did well. You can hear the basic tone of the amp. Its not like you need to hear your favorite riffs thru it to get it.
Strange that its called a 15 watt amp. Most amps with two 6l6 tubes are putting out 50 to 60 watts easy.
Power tranny tweaks ...that's it. You could put in a bigger power tranny and bam ...55 to 60w amp. PRS Doug Sewell said so himself ...great interview.
Didn`t know Bobby Briggs demoed guitar amps ^^
Where is the mew PRS amp made, USA or overseas?
China
hawg427 : Most PRS Stuff is Made In China, And Then PRS Stickers It With Their Logo. " " " Sickening " 😠
David White All their guitars other than the SE are made here so what are you talking about China! Have to make a lot of products over there to make a chipper for people who want a PRS! Do you have a clue our businesses Ron?
David White you sound pretty ignorant
Adding your own reverb to the amp? Otherwise, great demo and nice sounding amp. I guess there's always pedals to fill the gaps!
I wish just one persons demo would play a Les Paul or say a Strat thru this thing...
Why? have you played a strat and les paul and then a DG?
ua-cam.com/video/Rvm4v2mbtHc/v-deo.html
Thank me later. :-)
Pedals? No one is doing pedals through the front of the clean channel! Seems like it only gives two tones and those favor chiknpickin style.
I need that t shirt
15 watt monstahhh
It's a metal amp, so where's the chugs!
There's plenty of that on the rest of UA-cam. Ola Englund has a rig of the week with it. John shows you the versatility of the amp.
Bobby Osborne That post is a year old. Already owned one and sold now.
@@Rooster7six why you sold it? I'm thinking to get one, i only notice the dirt channel is so noisy, and you must get a noise gate, is that true, my ideal sound is mesa JP 2C, but i need to robe a bank for it :) any advises regarding MT15

I know he says it's super loud....but could this keep up with a Marshall half stack, bass and a loud drummer in a hard rock band?
I played one at gc through a crate cab. yes is loud enough to blow the doors off. It’s a mean amp legit
Virgen santísima!
Let's get Bohlinger to demo this metal amp... what could go wrong?!
> spends most of the demo on the clean channel. *facepalm*
I think it’s brilliant. There are already a pile of metal demos on this amp so this one shows it can do more than just heavy metal.
It's a Romanian thing!
Yes but there are a thousand other amps that do more than heavy metal, let him demo those.
Mihai Florea

-> You
JB shows off the versatility better! All metal amp demos sound the same on UA-cam.
Now If I don't hear my fav phrase from John(scoop the mids wierdo's) I'm coming down there after him, now on with the video

nice country amp! geeeeeezzzzzz get a metal player to demo this!
That actually sounds pretty shitty. But may just be the demo.
It's made in china.i mean how long is it going to last.ive own 2 Amps from china Brok down under 6 months .and U don't think there real valves do U.
Didn't like the sound of it
PRO TOOLS can make a walmart 50 dollar amp sound great. proceeded with caution! this is the internet folks

Thanks, Carol.
