    Gibson refused to give players what they want, strayed too far away from their core principles, quality suffered, and it drove them into bankruptcy. PRS stays true to their roots without gimmicks, making quality instruments and amps, and that's why they are the most respected company in the music world.

    Traded my Traynor cs 100h2 and 4x12 + orange cr120 for one of these and a 2x12 cab wish prs offered 16 ohm 2x12s though. The amp does say 8 ohm parallel but even the guitar store couldn't figure out of I could run it on an 8ohm 2x12. As I first picked up a used mesa cab but with the confusion switched to a h&k 2x12 not what I wanted but in 16ohm I dont have much option outside a 1000$ cab.

      RockerRobin I know this comment is old, but this is a really easy problem to solve just wire your speakers in series or parallel to get the resistance load you need

    Tremonti is a fantastic player no doubt. The amp ain't. We did a few shoot outs with the new EVH 5150 15W Lunchbox. The EVH blew the PRS’s away. Clean was as good if not better than the PRS. There is also a master volume on the clean for EVH (not the PRS). EVH goes from 15W to 1/4 instead of half power (PRS) making the EVH a much better practice and bedroom amp when you need it. The gain channel is much more articulate than the Prs. The dial on the PRS gain switch is SUPER sensitive. Its goes from 0 to balls out with the slightest nudge. Finally the Prs is darker and get muddy unless you go all out. You also have to dime the treble knob out to get anything to cut. PRS’s is a GREAT company but EVH kills it.

    His Signature Guitar is a ten but his signature amp has suffered since they kept it a budget-friendly amp. I mean if I closed my eyes I would think Im hearing a great player through a Spider amp or something. He can make anything sound good (including hello kitty acoustic lol). Keep that in mind. Buying it wont make you sound like him, practicing will. I really doubt he records with it when you put it up against his Diezel, Marshall and higher end PRS amps he has. Maybe one line just to say he used it.

    • @ehleroo
      @ehleroo 6 років тому +7

      To give Mark the benefit of the doubt, it sounds like he's saying he still plays his big amps live "'CAUSE they're the hundred-watt style." Could be a matter of output vs flavor.

    • @josuastangl7140
      @josuastangl7140 6 років тому +1

      I'm also confused, because I don't think 100w amps are necessary for a live performance as everything is mic'ed up and he probably also has in ear monitors.
      (Plus a 100w amp actually is just a touch louder than a modern/efficient 15w amp)
