I have fond memories back in 71 or 72 where with my father I walked to the landslip along Glenogle and remember his words that not so many years before, he was watching the trains traverse the rocky incline making its way to Killin. We also walked the old line along Loch Tay which would lay forgotten if not for a minor road alongside.
Thank you so much for the link to this video. Dalry in Ayrshire is my local home town local railway station all my days. I remember diesel trains going through before electrification in the mid 1980’s. Missed out on the steam era before my time. Railway in Britain has fairly changed over the past few decades. Still enjoyable but not as fascinating as steam traction seeing those mighty steam locomotives in action. I’ve been lucky enough to be on a couple of steam excursions though . Anyway thank you so much for this video.
Here’s a link to modern take filming of a heritage railway station in the English Midlands vintage style. It’s a far world from Scottish railways but pretty cleverly done. ua-cam.com/video/fyYM_20OlsQ/v-deo.htmlsi=2uB3ZM7xfNMKWwz4 you might be interested in watching them.
Nice to see these Steam trains in action on the Fort William - Mallaig line again,, but I didn't see anything of Killin or even Crail for that matter, or did I simply miss it.

An interesting short film. Note at 22:10 there is a clip of the rarely filmed St Margarets Engine Shed, Edinburgh in October 1965 in operation.
Gee, I remember hanging out those windows on the line to Mallaig. Smell of steam and grit in your eyes..!! Happy days..!! ;-)
