The fatal flaw with a Toyota Celica is that it’s too reliable.

Yet here i am with a 2008 Altima SL and still running great at 205k miles. If you take care of the car like anything else it'll last.

Originally the CVT was a joint project between Nissan and Ford. Ford walked away. That speakes volumes considering we are talkin bout Ford. Lol.

I purchased a 2015 Nissan Rogue 2 years ago with 7,000k and the thing was plagues with problems. The CVT went at 60k. Dealer took the car back and switched me for a 2016 Rogue with 5k. Wife has been driving it and so far no issues. I have a 2015 Altima with 100k and so far no transmission issues, though I maintain the car regularly. I honeatly like the CVT a lot and after driving normal transmissions they all feel weird. CVT is smooth and gives you amazing fuel mileage. Let's see Toyota and Honda beat 1000kms on a tank of fuel like myAltima. Good luck....sorry I just had to comment because watching this guy badmouth the brand is just not right. Plus he's annoying as hell.

I honestly love my altima.. I own a 2012 with 120k. It has been really great and the mpg is very nice. Hauls major A$$ and looks sharp. I even get folks thinking it's a newer car.. I tinted the windows upgraded rims and wheels. Really a zippy little car.

I love your videos and agree with you most of the time. I have, however, had a great experience with my 2015 Altima and the cvt transmission. I did drive it easy and I understood the theory behind it. I also loved the economy. What I didn’t like was the fake shift points in sport mode, defeated the purpose of the transmission. I put a lot of miles on and was happy overall. I would have never toed with it, as well I would never buy one in a bigger vehicle as I do believe they are weaker inherently. The buyer must understand all of this or they will not be happy.

I haven't had any problems at all with my 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL. I bought it with 35k miles on it and it now has 92k. No trouble with the CVT, no problems at all under the hood really. Tires, brakes, and oil changes (always fully synthetic) are really the only thing that I've paid for. Transmission Fluid was serviced by a Nissan shop at 78k miles. Other than that, my Altima has been excellent and extremely reliable and I drive it a lot! I do hear and read these bad things about the transmissions, though. Curious to see how mine holds up, hasn't let me down yet.

Scotty, we have a 2011 Quest with the CVT and of course the VQ35 V6. At 160k miles the CVT went. We replaced it for a new Nissan OE unit for $3000.
