    I gave up on trying not to wash my hair everyday lol I was always told how bad it was, yet I think some people just need to, it works for them. Dr dray (a dermatologist) has said it's okay to wash everyday if you need too :)

      it’s definitely okay to wash more frequently especially if you have a scalp condition. i wash twice a week and have found that that works best for me. i think abbey just says do what works for you(:

    Hi Abbey! I’m a relatively new subscriber. I’ve watched several of your videos and I think your fabulous. Thanks for all your hard work and time spent researching these products for us! Can you make a video about protective hair styles? Like how you recommend to put up at the gym, when you sleep, when you’re at the beach or pool, on a hot day and you need it off your neck or a windy day or whatever the situation is. I have hair like yours and my limited research so far is hasn’t turned up anything for our hair type. I know you typically only film once a week and your hair is always beautiful (freshly washed like today?) Maybe you could do a video showing us what your hair looks like each day and which products you’re using to keep from having to wash it! Thanks so much!

    I was looking for a shampoo for oily hair. Could not find a video that would just get to point. Then I saw this beautiful Yung lady named Abbey and I watched her video. I really wish everybody would watch her videos and take some notes because that's how u do. And it helps to be beautiful.. thank you the info on the shampoo.

    Oh now I'm just confused. I have been binge-watching your videos and I'm overwhelmed with too many things to choose from! I know you especially love Purology, Olaplex and the Redken acidic bonding for regular washing, and Ouai for detox cleansing, plus the pre-shampoo. I feel like all of them would be too much (physically and financially). If you were to rank them in importance, what would they be? Do you use all of them? Do you just use a different one each week? How often do you use the detox and pre-shampoo treatment? I have thin, frizzy hair that gets oily on the top and dry on the bottom and doesn't want to grow.

      Pureology is life. Really really focus of cleaning your scalp and before washing try to oil up your hair first and brush it out. I also strongly recommend, as Abbey does too, WOW Dreamcoat. It’s activated by warmth from blow dry do medium heat only use vented brush that has the boar bristles incorporated.

    I have such an oily scalp, and my mom who has a desert on her head had no way of knowing I was going to need different products from hers. I'm 21 years old now and just discovered clarifying oil control shampoos (the one I'm currently obsessed with is Neutrogena's for oily hair) and this is the first time I've been able to cut back my washing from every day or every other day (because I'm lazy) to once every five days or so. I finally have my gorgeous natural waves that I'm able to keep throughout the week thanks to Not Your Mother's mousse and some dry shampoo between washes

    I do all of these! I use actual ACV. I dont find it too stripping. I dont do it every wash, prob every other. I find aerosol dry shampoos to be the source of my itch. I can thank quarantine for being able to take time away from dry shampoo. But when I use aerosol dry shampoo, i instantly itch. I still use it if I have somewhere to go, but make sure to use ACV in that wash. I use a vented wet brush. I think its by wet brush brand but their epic model?? Its black. But i take it in the shower with me and wash it with me once a week?! Sounds weird but I have the same hair puller thing. Then I just run it under the water, get my soap and later the entire thing up. Its all one material so nothing to damage. I love that its clean when my hair is clean and as my hair gets dirty, I dont have to worry.
    The AGX ACV spray is good, I like that too. I have one from the Mane Choice that is a prickly pear root spray. I got it at ulta per my hair dresser. I like thr AGX on fresh hair and then the Maine choice as i get dirtier.
    But i love that most of your tips I already do! Absolutely couldn't agree more in the clarifying shampoo and clear vs milky. I havent seen a milky shampoo in years!!!!!!

    Hi there! Fairly new to your channel and really enjoying the hair training videos and this one too. Like you, I also hate a yucky dirty hairbrush and was replacing them often then I found a new trick. First you clean out the hair (got to get your handy tool) then you wash it with hot water and your clarifying shampoo. Viola! Looks like new (tried to include a pic but wasn’t able to :/). Hope this helps!! 😃

    Great video! I have actually started trying to see if I can get as educated on hair care ingredients as I am on skin care. I feel like I still can’t properly read an ingredient label in order to buy a shampoo/conditioner, mousse, etc. that isn’t secretly damaging or drying my hair somehow. I would love to know your thoughts on that topic!

    • @imawakemymindisalive13
      @imawakemymindisalive13 2 роки тому

      the ingredients list doesnt say everything, formulation is very important. alot of “drying” alcohols are evaporated off in the manufacturing process of some products. yet people still avoid those products.

    i look like severus snape when i don’t was my hair daily. but to be honest, i can get away with washing every other day and as long as i use a gentle shampoo (baby shampoo works for me!) i’ve seen pretty decent results for my hair! i don’t want to use too many products, dry shampoo, pomades, etc. on my scalp because i don’t like too much build up then feel like i need to strip it all off with a detox shampoo, but i want to try the shampoos you suggested! I’m not sure if i’ll ever go to once a week washing since my hair keeps good health with regular to semi regular days washing, but i love all the advice as always!

    • @BilliePiper22
      @BilliePiper22 3 роки тому +18

    maybe you could just soak n clean your brush to get rid of oils instead of buying tons of new brushes? thats just overconsuming n adding to waste esp plastic waste

    I put my brush in the dishwasher after removing all the hair. Don't judge me.

    I know this is from a few years ago, but I hope that you have realized that you can't train your hair/scalp. It's not possible & I wonder who invented this idea? Lol. Think about it--your scalp is skin, it produces oils/sebum, it is from the interior of your body & is ruled by genetics. Not washing your hair doesn't make your scalp produce less sebum. Washing your hair doesn't make your hair produce more sebum. Unless something goes wonky with your interior body/skin then the sebum production will continue as normal. The best thing to do is find a good clarifying shampoo/conditioner, wash your head twice, conditioner from the ears down & find a lightweight leave-in, also only applied from the ears down. All styling products ie. gel, cream, etc are also only applied from the ears down. I've always had an oily scalp & I find that this routine lets me go a few days, then I'll use some dry shampoo for the next 2 days. Yes, my hair gets pretty greasy by day 2/3 but the dry shampoo really helps, so I can go 4 days without a wash most weeks.
