Robert Godwin, Sr's murder happened when I was in college, I remember watching the video of the shooting and it was probably the first time I'd seen graphic footage like that completely uncensored. It was something that really resonated with me at how someone could live up to 74 and cruelly lose their life in cold blood live on the internet for no reason. He didn't even have a chance to react to what was happening. Even more was when the family came out and publicly forgave the killer for what had just happened. And the narrative was that the family was coping and could not have actually truly forgiven someone for doing something so heinous (thought the family cited that they were Christians and that their father would have not wanted them to harbor a grudge, IIRC). A bit of a tangent, but yeah, this one always bothers me. Mans could have been my grandpa and something like that would devastate me. :(
Rest in peace Robert Godwin, Sr, shouldn't ever have been taken before your time.

I feel horrible for his family for not only losing their father/grandfather but also his final moments were broadcasted and spread across the internet. He’s not thinking of anyone’s future because he literally cannot envision his own. The most disturbing part of Ricardo’s suicide was that for a split second after he pulled the trigger, you could see the top of his head bulge out for a brief moment. The bullet didn’t go through him and it pushed his brain meat upwards through his skull and didn’t penetrate out of his head. Combine that with that haunting moan he let out as he died and the sound of blood pouring out onto the floor off camera. His death video was very chilling

Funnily enough, when i was in my darkest moment and was very close to take drastic actions due to past trauma that i hadn't told to anyone about. I met someone who shared something similar to what i had gone through but way less extreme, and in a moment of weakness, i hinted to what i had gone through and they laughed in my face thinking i was making a joke. Even though the first time i ever opened up was met with ridicule, hearing someone laugh at my pain somehow flipped a switch in my brain that told myself that it wasn't as bad as i was making it out to be.
That maybe, i could handle it after all. I think back on that moment quite often and how lucky i was that i took it the way i did. But sometimes being met with the worst reaction possible in a scenario can make us snap out of the mind lock we've ended up in.
Years later and i can now talk openly about everything i experienced in the past, and to think it all came from one person laughing at my only cry for help.
I guess for context in case anyone wonders, the guys quoted some picture about losing your girlfriend saying something along the lines of "Right now she's breathing in someone's elses bed" and i asked "What if she's not breathing anymore?" and he thought i was making a joke about having killed her myself and was laughing about how incel i sounded. That was the first time i had ever referenced anything about her to anyone.

As a high-school junior who's had threats in my school and shootings near my school, it's honestly terrifying. I've had many lives taken out of mine, and I'm still in mourning. Dylan and Eric definitely needed more help. Yes, they did make an infamous shooting that fueled the fire for many teens and kids to start their murderous rampages, but this is what therapy is for. Susan should've known, the signs were in her face. She should've been more close and observant. I'm in between being pissed at them for what they did, but also feeling bad for them for what could've been. The small emotions that they gave were definitely something, to say the least. It's not known if they were real, or just to get pity. Dylan knew that he had a great life paved for him, but he let other things take the wheel and stop him. Klebold was found out to have a psychotic, Messiah complex. Harris couldn't be saved either way. Harris was simply a cold-blooded killer. If they had both not met, there could've been a possibility that Dylan could've changed or helped for the better.
High-school is hard, no doubts at all. The work, the constant lethargy, everything coming at you, all the while you have rude students that bully, harass, mock, and threaten others. It's really unnecessary what goes down inside the walls of a school, and if the parents knew, they would definitely be shocked or upset. It's very important to check in on students. I have a few friends who were even sexually assaulted/harassed by bullies at my school. Just a reminder to stay safe, report anything out of the ordinary.

As someone who struggles with severe feelings of inadequacy and self confidence issues. People have no idea how much it can weigh on people. I am 7 years sober but I was addicted to heroin as well as crack for most of my life by the time I quit. One thing that it did was ruin my teeth. I'm actually a decent looking guy and I've always had ability to draw people in with my personality and just being myself. But about 15 years ago on Easter I broke 2 of my front teeth with a toothpick. They chipped in half basically and it made me very self conscious. Fast forward I have basically all my teeth chipped or broken along top. I haven't smiled with teeth in public in about 15 years and it's to point where I cant even talk without showing my teeth being broken. So I shell up and get very nervous. I cant imagine hurting people because of it. But I have at times let it make me very spiteful towards life in general and how I feel people perceive me or talk about me when I'm not around.

man, the second case with Steve is EXACTLY why anyone working in mental health or helping those who are mentally ill, even just common therapists should be mandated to have counseling/therapy and a psychiatrist themselves and have it provided through their employer. Many do have it this way, but not everyone in that sector and it’s insane.

I hate watching these videos, but I think it's important that I do. They make me upset, anxious, and frustrated, but the alternative is just being ignorant. I try to practice an appropriate level of empathy and reasonable detachment that's always being challenged by the horrible and deluded things these people do and say. I am feeling much more comfortable, though. I used to watch these videos and then get terrified to walk out at night or go to work in case some crazy dude showed up out of nowhere. But after steady exposure and a lot of thinking (and a lot of support from friends and family), I don't really feel all that scared anymore. It's still very hard to watch these videos, I have no idea how Tom makes them consistently without serious mental damage, but they've helped me confront a lot of horrible things and a lot of my own anxiety. Fear of these people don't stop me from going out and doing what I love anymore, and they don't stop me from seeing all the beautiful and wonderful people that exist in abundance.
I hope no one ever has to go through anything remotely similar to the tragedies Tom talked about, but the world is a wacky place. If someone comes up to you on some unhinged vibes, drop kick them.

The second dude is an example of what can happen with no positive male role model in your life. He blames all of his problems, including his gambling problem, on all of the women in his life. The only two people who truly cared about him. And him doing what he was doing at the end of it all was his way of 'lashing out' like a little kid picking a fight at school just to get noticed by mommy and daddy.
And dont get me started with the people trying to talk shit about her online afterwards. Those people are just pathetic. Even if she was the worst woman in the world (which shes not), how does him killing random people have anything to do with her?

Count Dankula made a video on Ricardo López a few years back were he showed a lot of clips from the videos López made leading up to what eventually happened and what was so surprising to me was how much he actually documented and how in a weird way it comes across as like youtube "vlogs" despite it being recorded in the 90's on a VCR camera. So unlike the first two people Tom talk about in this video, were the intent is to broadcast and show the internet in one way or another; it's unclear who López wants to document this for, apart from the police, since the tapes up until the "final" tape had been placed in his apartment with a message on the wall for the police to find them. The fact that all the tapes also did make their way to the internet, despite them not being in digital format is honestly kind of insane.

Ricardo Lopez's autopsy showed he didnt have Klinefelter syndrome. in his video diary he says thinks he has it and that's why he looks the way he does. He only paints his face one time, on the day he kills himself. He states in the video that its so whomever finds him sees him as not quite human, a cartoon - hopefully making it easier on them emotionally.
