Yup! Haha The owners were really nice and let us continue. This was awhile ago and Chalk Bluff has been visited by more and more people so they don't really want people walking onto their property - I wouldn't recommend it now! There are signs now and it's more obvious you're not supposed to go down that way.
What a great moment you lived all together!!! I am not used to do camping, but I would have liked to live such an experience, at least once, with my family. I am impressed by how good you prepared your meal over there!!!
Wow! :) This is a type of trip that I would love to take. So adventurous and immersed in nature. Great stuff! I also liked how you used different types of footage - the upclose shots were great!
Yeah I tried to use a mix for sure, glad you noticed! I think in this video it was the Canon 7D with 50mm or 28mm, a GoPro Hero 5 and a DJI Mavic Pro drone.
Hey fellas. I have never heard of this place, but it looks great! Can you actually set up camp there by the river and how isolated is it? I love camping in the less traveled areas and this looks perfect! Any info you could give me?
It's an AMAZING spot and my go-to for camping. I typically do camp down by the river in their area called the "Pecan Bottom" and it's away from the cabins and main swim area. Definitely worth going out there and it's pretty slow and great during the week. During the weekends in the summer it gets a little crazy but it's still a great time and I recommend it. Winters there are spectacular.
Such a beautiful and relaxing video! It almost felt like we were there fishing and having a campfire. It looks like a very nice spot for both camping and fishing. We really liked the music that you chose for this video! The drone end scene when you are fishing in the middle of the river is stunning! If we ever go to Texas we will check out this place! And btw, you are sooo close to 1000 subs. Awesome!
I miss camping! I'm finally heading back to Alaska in two weeks and I can't wait to get into the backcountry. Awesome video. It makes me super excited for summer.
I have never been on a fishing trip ever in my life. Every time my family or friends would plan a trip, for some reason we end up not going. Looks like plenty of fun, I'll just head out on my own someday just to experience it. Stay Safe
You should definitely get a trip going, I assure you it's some of the best quality time of your life. Everyone is focusing on their own little efforts in catching fish while you're bonding over the art of casting and getting stuck in the reeds, etc. So fun!
This is such a nice way to have a quality bonding. I always think of camping as an activity that everyone needs to try most especially the generation now,, LOL!
And another amazing spot. was that a snake in the water ? do you guys ever end a fishing trip without a catch or do you keep going till you catch something?
We've definitely ended fishing trips without a catch but we lucked out this time- well, my dad did. We actually went a couple weeks ago and caught 40+ fish between 4 of us! That video will come out soon.
Have you fished on the Nueces River before?
Nomadic Gear yeah there’s alligators 🐊 at times
Geez! Have you seen them on the Nueces?
Nomadic Gear just a dead one on land
What an excellent and fun experience. Very creative way to get the tree branch down.
hahah sometimes you have to improvise with what you brought out there.

Looked like a great quiet spot to go! 👍
How is the cell phone reception?
It's not terrible but it's not great either. Definitely worth going out there!
I think you missed the point of remote camping. Sheesh.
Great video, great quality.
And nice breakdown on the gear list
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you.
And yeah, I want people to know what we're using out there. I need to be better about making a list of camping + fishing gear as well.
Also, I just subscribed! I'm excited to check out your camping content.
@@NomadicGear I'm honored, my content isn't up to your quality....yet. I'm working on it.
