Good review! The JBL Flip specializes more in the bass element but doesn't have as much of a crisp treble. The Tribit is not as strong in the bass but has better treble. The Tribit bass is still pretty impressive, given the size but the Denon has a more balanced stereo sound (treble, bass, mids and highs) overall.

I received my Tribit Soundmax Plus a couple of days ago. Wow! This thing sounds so clean it's amazing. I have many bluetooth speakers including high end ones one's and I have to say the sound signature (or lack there of) is honestly very impressive. A flatter response curve is not something that I generally care for, but the absence of harshness here makes it quiet a treat. Bass extension is good. If I set Spotify (9 band) EQ +3db @ 63hz I get a very full sound. Couldn't be happier. Thanks for the review Alan 👍

Comparing Jbl to Tribit is like comparing Johny Walker to decent scotch single malt. In Jbls you got the bass right into your face and nothing else... In Tribit you have to be able to dig into the sound to realize that there is nothing really missing just everything is in there in the own space and nothing is overwhelming each other, rather complementing so the bass is really there and really enough. Amazing in depth review!!! Your reviews are a learning experience...glad I ran into your page. I am actually trying to decide between the Anker Soundcore Motion + and the lower cost Tribit Maxsound Plus. The Anker is larger with amazing sound quality and output, where the Tribit is so flat and clean while still being pretty compact. Which would you pick for your one portable speaker?
the flip 5 sounds distorted and muddy. I choose either the tribit or denon. both denon and tribit almost sounds the the same except for the deeper bass on the denon. Otherwise, clarity and price... tribit wins... and it also has a very good bass. I'm going to return my jbl flip 5 that i just bought at walmart 4 days ago. I also bought the jbl charge essential at costco and it has a much clearer sound and a deeper bass in higher volumes. So most likely, i will keep the jbl charge essential... then I will now purchase the tribit maxsound. Because it also has an auxiliary jack just like the jbl charge.... oh, I also like the size of the tribit. I can take it along with me when i ride my electric scooter😊 it fits in my water bottle holder. My package arrived yesterday dec 23 from amazon. JBL is missing the mark by not incorporating a tweeter with their flip5 and charge4 speakers. It would make it so much easier to tune the device instead of depending on one speaker to fill the full frequencies that multiple speaker configurations can.

Hi sir, would like to hear your opinion, if I could get Tribit Maxsound Plus, Tribit StormBox or JBL Flip 5, all at similar price range, which one would you recommend? I prefer more sound to bass & clarity also. Hope you can help. Thanks.
Hey Alan, just wondering what is your take on the Apple Beats Pill if you've had any experience on it? Form factor wise, its very similar to the MaxSound.
Is it worth to buy one Maxsound Plus if I already have a Motion+ ? It is mainly for outside use since I've got pretty small hands, Motion+ is quite uncomfortable to handle more than 2 hours outside.
Great review, it was very professional. Can you help me decide which speaker is the best option for me? Jbl flip 5 or Tribit max sound plus? Is the sound quite similar? thanks
no flip 5 is very v shaped while the maxsound is more neutral. The maxsound is a real bargain but you cant pair two of them for stereo like you can the flip 5. The flip 5 is more rugged but mono with just one while the maxsound is stereo with just one.

I bought the maxsound plus, it sounds great, but whenever a quiet part of a song comes in, the speaker goes completely silent, then it plays again on the louder parts. Anyone else has this problem?
Doing a great job Alan. My max sound plus bass crapped out on me tonight playing ela minus close at about 60%. How much do I have to spend to be able to listen to this without the speaker getting overloaded?
Hi there Alan, I was wondering, is the Tribit Maxsound Plus clearer than the Sony XB31? I was thinking of swapping my Sony and getting a Tribit as it is more portable. I don't mind if the speaker does not go really loud, just wanting to know if it is clearer - coming from a Motion+ owner as I really love the sound and clarity of that one (especially with your Custom EQ!) and the Sony just seems so muddy/not so clear in the vocals. Just boomy bass. I have tried fiddling around the Sony EQ and can't get anything to match the clarity of the Anker from my Sony. If the Tribit is not clearer, then I'll keep my Sony and perhaps you could suggest a portable one thats clearer? TIA
the tribit is very neutral so yes its clear as it should be, nothing boosted. the sound is very different from the xb31. the tribit sits alongside the motion plus as an alternative when small and light is needed.

I read that Denon has some battery issues...that after a few weeks use the battery meter shows only 1 dot out of 4 or something like this....is that true?
Hi! Has anyone noticed low volume audio being cut on the Tribit's Maxsound Plus? I use this speaker a lot to listen to low and calm music at low volume (not extremely low), while working or before falling asleep, but this speaker keeps cutting the audio when it's low but still listenable. It's almost like there's some switch on the Tribit speaker that'll cut the audio when below some threshold, but the threshold it way too high. And since the speaker also has an "hiss" it's so obvious that if the song is playing but there's no hiss, it is being cropped. Comparing to simply playing the same songs through the crappy smartphone's speakers shows how odd it is to start listening to songs that begin on a crescendo, only and suddenly after a few seconds. This happens both trhough bluetooh and aux-in. Anyone else sharing the same issue?

Hi, I have a problem with my pair of Tribit Maxsound Plus Speakers. I keep loosing sound when I lower the volume (Either on the PC volume itself or while using Windows Media Player etc) Like when my wife is sleeping I set the volume to let's say... 7-10% (Like I've been doing it all this time with my little SkullCandy Shrapnel speakers) and the volume / sound just stops. It's frustrating... I bought them because I wanted better sound (and BASS) we rarely listen to our movies / shows at high volume so I thought these speakers were gonna be great for us... Don't get me wrong, they sound GREAT! Just not under 10% and 15%+ is way too loud at 2am in the bedroom. Wife is a light sleeper so I went back to my shrapnels :/ Any ideas of what might wrong? THANKS!!
@@alanrossreviews Both speakers are connected to my computer via auxiliary (light green port in the back) and the sound suddenly stops at 7% sometimes even at 10%. I tried using different 3.5 audio cables, different 3.5 splitters and I also connected the speakers to the headphone jack located in the front of my PC and the results are the same. The sound just stops when I lowered the volume to 10% or less. Now, I must tell you that when I connect one speaker via Bluetooth to my cellphone it plays great! Even at the lowest volume so I don't know what's going on. Unfortunately my PC doesn't have a Bluetooth option, and if it had it is a shame that this model can't be connected to another speaker for Stereo Sound.

With max sound plus Do you recommend listening with xbass on or off for non music content like UA-cam videos. Does the xbass off have better sound than it was on?
tribit maxsound plus is a real gem imo. i got 1 for myself and 7 for friends and family. its incredible value in its class. jbl has overpriced junk compared to tribit.
Great review Alan! I love my Maxsound Plus, but I'm having problems when using the audio jack connecter. Whenever there is a quiet movie scene for example my Tribit doesn't play any sounds at all (like if the signal was to weak) until the volume in the movie increases again. Does that happen to your unit too? Or is it maybe a general issue with using the audio jack connector?
I had an old bluetooth speaker called the Supertooth Disco 2. It had the exact same problem. When movies were low on volume it alsmost sounds like the speaker was muted. It takes a loud sound to get sound coming out of the speaker. I have no idea why it does that but most bluetooth speakers dont do that. I think it has something to do with converting a 5.1 digital stereo signal back into 2.0 stereo. I stopped using those speakers for movies and bought something else. I just bought two anker soundcore motion +'s for movies. Seems to work great for movies.
They sound way too similar, probably because you used crap electronic music instead of acoustic, and a crap microphone that doesn't pick up the deeper bass. Also, just because the Tribit extends to 20k doesn't mean it's "the flattest". If you draw a straight line from where the roll-off begins at both ends, the Denon is the flattest over its "useful range" (Who even hears up to 20k? You certainly don't at your age), the Tribit is just shrill and overly bright at max volume (or with XBass turned off).
Get to the point already geez For the money the Tribit max sound can’t be beat, period. Buy it and save your money. There now you can bypass the review and save a half hour of your life
Good review!
The JBL Flip specializes more in the bass element but doesn't have as much of a crisp treble. The Tribit is not as strong in the bass but has better treble. Hi sir, would like to hear your opinion, if I could get Tribit Maxsound Plus, Tribit StormBox or JBL Flip 5, all at similar price range, which one would you recommend? I prefer more sound to bass & clarity also. Hope you can help. Thanks.
maxsound plus for me.
@@alanrossreviews maxsound plus is better sounding than stormbox & flip 5 ya in your experience?
Hey Alan, just wondering what is your take on the Apple Beats Pill if you've had any experience on it? Form factor wise, its very similar to the MaxSound.
Is it worth to buy one Maxsound Plus if I already have a Motion+ ? It is mainly for outside use since I've got pretty small hands, Motion+ is quite uncomfortable to handle more than 2 hours outside.
yes its way smaller and will be for different listening scenarios.
@@alanrossreviews Great, I'll buy one when I can. Thanks for answering my question !

@@alanrossreviews eheheheh.... He boom overrated shit! Like the Bose mini !

too bad......what you got now?
Could you make a full review to compare Tribit XSound Go, MaxSound Plus and StormBox Speakers?
i hope to do this at some point.
That will be great!
@@alanrossreviews IF the tribit max sound plus and JBL fill 5 cost the same price. in terms of build quality, durability, sound quality and other factors, which one would you buy? I'm really undecided between the two models. Thanks again for the answer

Sir please suggest should I go with Sony xb 22 or tribit stormbox ... I hv used only sony ..and is tribit is a good company?
i never was hands on with xb22. if you are not looking for 360 degree sound better of with maxsound plus.

How would you compare Tribit MAXSound Plus with Sony SRS-XB20?Their shapes and sizes look the same.
not tried the xb20!
oh, heared with Sennheiser HD660S.
The Denon sound is really impressive. Tribit would get the second place.
So from your reviews i did a decision Denon -> Tribit -> JBL -> Sony
but Tribit could easily take place 1 if the price difference to denon is huge.
P.S. Ah yes... it is. Denon costs twice so much
Have you looked at the soundcore boost v2?
@@alanrossreviews i found Denon mini for 60 euro. Will try it first. Maybe will compare it with tribit a bit later ^^

I bought the maxsound plus, it sounds great, but whenever a quiet part of a song comes in, the speaker goes completely silent, then it plays again on the louder parts. Anyone else has this problem?
not me
Had this issue too. I had the older version. Younhad this Problem with the updated Version ?
Doing a great job Alan. My max sound plus bass crapped out on me tonight playing ela minus close at about 60%. How much do I have to spend to be able to listen to this without the speaker getting overloaded?
None of then should blow at 60%, i heard this before about the Maxsound plus, if you value bass over some clarity try the soundcore boost upgraded

@@alanrossreviews Thanks Alan. Please don't stop what you are doing in this channel. We need more of guys like you who tell us what we need to hear instead of just going along with hype and marketing of these big brands. That said, looking forward to the Sony XB33 review, can't wait to watch it! 😀

I read that Denon has some battery issues...that after a few weeks use the battery meter shows only 1 dot out of 4 or something like this....is that true?
the biggest issue is the drain when not in use. the battery indicator isnt one i had.
@@alanrossreviews right...was just curious since it's one of the very few speakers that has aptx low latency.
Anyone else sharing the same issue?
are you facing glitches while playing videos from youtube or primevideo on tribit maxsound plus?

THANKS!!
are you say at first it plays at 7% but then cuts out or doesnt play at all at 7%?
@@alanrossreviews Both speakers are connected to my computer via auxiliary (light green port in the back) and the sound suddenly stops at 7% sometimes even at 10%. I tried using different 3.5 audio cables, different 3.5 splitters and I also connected the speakers to the headphone jack located in the front of my PC and the results are the same. The sound just stops when I lowered the volume to 10% or less. Now, I must tell you that when I connect one speaker via Bluetooth to my cellphone it plays great! Even at the lowest volume so I don't know what's going on. Unfortunately my PC doesn't have a Bluetooth option, and if it had it is a shame that this model can't be connected to another speaker for Stereo Sound.
you can make tribit maxsound plus new firmware 1.4.0 vs original, pleased

tribit maxsound plus is a real gem imo. i got 1 for myself and 7 for friends and family. its incredible value in its class. jbl has overpriced junk compared to tribit.
yeah cause you pay to have the use of an app that doesnt work 😝
Great review Alan! I love my Maxsound Plus, but I'm having problems when using the audio jack connecter. Whenever there is a quiet movie scene for example my Tribit doesn't play any sounds at all (like if the signal was to weak) until the volume in the movie increases again. Does that happen to your unit too? Or is it maybe a general issue with using the audio jack connector?
to be honest i havent even tried the aux socket. have you asked their support?
I had an old bluetooth speaker called the Supertooth Disco 2. It had the exact same problem. When movies were low on volume it alsmost sounds like the speaker was muted. It takes a loud sound to get sound coming out of the speaker. I have no idea why it does that but most bluetooth speakers dont do that.
I think it has something to do with converting a 5.1 digital stereo signal back into 2.0 stereo.
I stopped using those speakers for movies and bought something else.
I just bought two anker soundcore motion +'s for movies.
Seems to work great for movies.
Denon best!
