I went with the boost because it was $59 usd VS the flip 6 $130. I do like the battery indicator on the flip 6. But I can’t justify it for the price. Sending it back tomorrow.
I dont know if you'll reply to this , but i wanted to know if theres any other speakers than the max sound plus which has adequate bass and an audio jack , because id also like to use it as a mini amp for my guitar and consume content like movies and songs , so would the tribit stormbox be a better option , or is there any others with better bass and sound in this sound range that offers an aux input ?
speakers that for me have no lag over its auxiliary input are: Minirig mk3 Soundcore Motion Boom Plus Onyx Studio 7 Soundcore Motion X600 Soundcore Motion+ Soundcore Rave Neo/Trance Go Tribit Stormbox Blast W-King H10 W-King T11
Alan I had a question, I watched a video by “Oluv” regarding the soundcore boost. He said the boost and the boom have a fluctuating bass and treble at low levels. Unless he has dog ears, and mine are phenomenal for sound variation, I didn’t hear what he’s hearing. Did you notice in your sound tests any of these issues?!?
its only in specific tracks, i think one of the few tracks i noticed it on was his test track from soulpersona, i think it was analogue but it might have been something else. its there but for me so rare and at low volumes where for me its a non issue.
I feel the same way, who really listens at very low volume, it’s usually between 40-60% . I also think Oluv is trying to sell the earfun l boom too. Soulpersona is his friends group and I wouldn’t be surprised if the l boom was tuned for that music. He likes the open more treble to mid sounds better, I know you and I like the warmer , deep bass sound more..
@@lymedog3176 right, the difference is i just have my personal taste and recognise its on the heavier bass side of neutral, oluv likes a bright sound that he calls neutral but isnt 🤔

Wait how does the MaxSound Plus sounds louder than the Soundcore Boost which is louder than most alternatives in this weight class? Last time I checked the peak on the MaxSound Plus it played a few decibels quieter than the Soundcore Boost and two decibels less than the JBL Flip 5! And now you're telling me its louder than all the other speakers on the table..🤔
It depends on tracks, some tracks favor some speakers because the frequency response of the track matches well with the frequency response of the speaker. And loudness depends on this 😋
yup track dependent. peak isnt a great measure of loudness btw, lufs uses k weighting and is more in line with how we hear. my lufs is a measure of the whole track and as mentioned if a particular track happens to favour the very peaks the speaker has it will change the results you might get in other tracks. a lot of guys do not really understand what they mean when they ask how loud a speaker is. my peak is a true peak measurement, every channel i see on youtube giving a peak measurement is actually giving a max measurement.
Hey, i am confused between tribit xsound plus 2 and Jbl flip 6. I am not a party guy or using it outside. I will be using in home 95% of time with 2 fans sound . I want better clarity of instrument at medium volume that is 20% to 50% . Which should i go for?
i mentioned it in the video, its bigger plus i cant put all speakers in each video. we had the flip 6 vs flip 5 and 4, vs charge 3 and 4, vs charge 5, etc.....
remember very user situation specific but my testing the best was: Harman Kardon Neo Marshall Kilburn 2 Tribit Stormbox Pro Bose Soundlink Micro Marshall Stockwell 2 Soundcore Motion+ Soundcore Trance/Rave/Mega/Mini Bose Soundlink Flex Dali Katch Dali Katch 2 LG Xboom Go PL7 Minirig mk3
Jbl sounds better I have a bass up. I I brought a second to pair. But the driver sounds like it popped on it. Might try a motion plus. At 30watts that should be ok. I listen to spoken word in the shower the bass up is a bit much.
The flip sounds OK but really pales in comparison with the other offerings shown here. I don't think the woofer/tweeter separation makes quite as much difference on the F6 as it did on the C5. Nice to finally see an EQ option though, even if basic, and i hope that it will come to the C5 and other speakers from JBL too.

I always watch until the end Alan 🤪🤪 None of these speakers are perfect, and each one will have it’s own negatives. I would personally have to pick the Soundcore boost out of these 3, but I would just keep all three, and play them at different times.
Obviously there's only so much time that can go into a video and concerns of music copyrights so the selection is limited. Are you able to weigh in on which of the small speakers would be better for those of us that listen to trash music? :) I listen to a lot of drone, ambient, and vaporwave.
@@alanrossreviews I just watched your comparison video between this and the Motion+. I do think it seems to edge out the Motion+ but a very old Bluetooth version and micro USB are tough pills to swallow. I don't even know if I still have any micro USB cables around here and it adds to the number of cables you have to drag around with you. How about Soundcore Boost or Maxsound Plus? Your videos on them are very good but without hearing them in person (which you never will in a store around here) it can be hard to decide or know what the bass really feels like. If you were willingly listening to something droney would you pick a Tribit or a Soundcore speaker?
@@alanrossreviews After going back and giving your other videos that feature the Boost and the Maxsound Plus some repeated listens, I think I'll check out the Boost. I suppose I can send whatever back if I don't care for it. Thank you and have a happy holiday!
It sounds like the Flip 6 is the perfect middle ground between the Boost and the MSP. An overpriced middle ground but still… Can you eq a little more clarity into the Boost when at lower volumes without distributing the low end too much, or is it a trade off?

Do you have any EQ settings to share for the Maxsound Plus? I imagine I'll be jacking up the bass if I get it.
the mifa wildrod sounds like something between the two. i only eq through dedicated app, maxsound plus does not have one.
@@alanrossreviews Okay thanks. Can the speaker be damaged by boosting the bass a lot using the player's EQ?
I have the Tribit and I really like vocals to hear with it, its great. The soundcore I also find very interesting despite it sounds not 100% clean at higher levels, but Ive too much spakers. My girlfriend kills me if I buy another one. Alan, can you confirm my thougts to the soundcore and little distortion at higher levels?

Now, i saw it comming, ive the soundcore boost here. I use it with your EQ Alan. What should i say, for this size I'm impressed. I switched between the tribit max and the soundcore motion+ 36.38 and your EQ. Now ive a problem. For my taste i like it better than the motion+. Is something wrong with my ears? I think I will sale the motion plus as there is no need for it anymore. For higher volumes ive the two motion booms and lower the boost. Im confused that i like it more than the motion+.
Hey nice video! I was wondering if the Anker Soundcore Boost is able to be placed vertically (standing upright) like how the JBL Flip 6 can with its cylindrical shape (so it does not take up as much desk space). Thanks for all your speaker comparisons as they have been really helpful in making a decision.
its possible but its not overly stable like that.
@@alanrossreviews Thanks for the quick reply! I think I am leaning towards the Anker Soundcore Boost the same as you. I hope you had a great New Years!
I went with the boost because it was $59 usd VS the flip 6 $130. I do like the battery indicator on the flip 6. But I can’t justify it for the price. Sending it back tomorrow.
Two boosts will have you turning down the bass, the flip 6 will be crying.

@@alanrossreviews Personally I just got a Maxsound Plus, I agree with the fact it doesn't have much bass, but when using it with tracks that don't focus on bass, it's one of the best speakers I've ever heard, it's far better than Motion Boom in those scenarios 😁

you will end up killing the battery.
I love maxsound plus and im planning to buy another speaker, should i buy 1 more for stereo mode or go for the bigger speakers like mifa wildbox?
depends on your usage, the wildbox will give you much deeper bass and a meaty sound., a pair of maxsound pluses will be great for more nuanced tracks.

whats the question 😭😭😭
Wait how does the MaxSound Plus sounds louder than the Soundcore Boost which is louder than most alternatives in this weight class? Last time I checked the peak on the MaxSound Plus it played a few decibels quieter than the Soundcore Boost and two decibels less than the JBL Flip 5! And now you're telling me its louder than all the other speakers on the table..🤔
It depends on tracks, some tracks favor some speakers because the frequency response of the track matches well with the frequency response of the speaker. And loudness depends on this 😋
@@ThibautMahringer I know that but thanks for the headsup
@@bluetooth_speaker_junkie I thought you didn't know 😋 That's indeed the reason why it's louder here
yup track dependent. peak isnt a great measure of loudness btw, lufs uses k weighting and is more in line with how we hear. my lufs is a measure of the whole track and as mentioned if a particular track happens to favour the very peaks the speaker has it will change the results you might get in other tracks. a lot of guys do not really understand what they mean when they ask how loud a speaker is. my peak is a true peak measurement, every channel i see on youtube giving a peak measurement is actually giving a max measurement.

Jbl sounds better I have a bass up. I I brought a second to pair. But the driver sounds like it popped on it. Might try a motion plus. At 30watts that should be ok. I listen to spoken word in the shower the bass up is a bit much.
m+ is way imho
The flip sounds OK but really pales in comparison with the other offerings shown here. I don't think the woofer/tweeter separation makes quite as much difference on the F6 as it did on the C5. Nice to finally see an EQ option though, even if basic, and i hope that it will come to the C5 and other speakers from JBL too.
Basically its a better flip for flip 5 owners and a knockable travel option for the rest of us, 🤔
check the tribit stormbox, it's the size of a flip, comes with a strap to hang, sounds way better and has a ton of bass.

Obviously there's only so much time that can go into a video and concerns of music copyrights so the selection is limited. Are you able to weigh in on which of the small speakers would be better for those of us that listen to trash music? :)
I listen to a lot of drone, ambient, and vaporwave.
you might want to look at a secondhand denon 250bt which is still a reference for this sort of size.

It sounds like the Flip 6 is the perfect middle ground between the Boost and the MSP. An overpriced middle ground but still…

it will be a tradeoff, you will need to reduce the bass.
