I got both! They sound different, but they both sound good & look supercool! I like "clean" + "light crunch" tones, & for these, the 10 is more like an old Fender amp while the 15 sounds more like a Vox amp.
The Nowhere Stairs daisy chained 10 of the MG10s together for a pub gig one time. Audience was shocked by the volume of all those lil guys cranked! BTW: The Fender tweed cable being used in this clip is one of the best I've used live for insulation - virtually no noise.
Yeah, good option, they're everywhere and they're affordable. Specially recommended for beginners. I had the 30w, and now I'm playing with the 50w: Beri naaaaiss!
i think if your 18 and under get the MG10 if a parent is willing to buy it, because it does cost a little more than the Fender Frontman 10G, but trust me avoid that amp unless a parent bought one of those Squier bundle packs that come with the amp. however if your 19 and older get the MG15. personally id skip these two and get the MG30, it doesn't cost much more than the MG15 and you get a better speaker, plus you get a few extra features not found on the MG15. if your worry it might be too loud, trust me you can play the MG30 at a lower volume than these two. you wouldn't think so, but the more head room you have even in a solid state amp, the better you can play at a lower volume. the MG10 and M15 are ok, but i had the MG15 for a little bit. when playing at a low volume, you can barely hear it. obviously you can throw on a pair of headphones, but i still think the MG30 is the better all around amp if were just talking about Marshall. but only get it if your budget can afford a 200 dollar budget Squier or Yamaha Pacifica 112 guitar plus a 200+ dollar amp, cause i believe current price for the MG30 is 299, it might be lower depending on where you look. but i think that Amp is worth the price, another option is the Boss Katana 50 MKII, but that might cost more. i haven't looked at one of those Amps in awhile, but last time i looked at prices they were around 250 and that was like two years ago. now there's also the Fender Mustang LT25, it's similar to the Boss Katana, but it's alot cheaper and a way better Amp than the Frontman 10G or the Marshall MG10 in this video. that's what i sold the MG15 for, i got the 50 watt version for 199, but the 25 is just as good.
Bro, the MG30 can be played in a Down volume? Can i trust you? Kkkkk Im brazilian and looking for my first guitar and amp I live in apartment, can't do so much loud but i think when i play with friends outside 699 MG10 899 MG15 Gold 1.700 MG15 FX 1.700 Code 25 2.100 MG30 GFX (Prices in reais) 1 dollar = 5,5 reais
@Bruce Dickinson any amp can be played at a low volume yes, even a tube amp can provided it's not a an amp better suited for a gig. but solid state amps when played at a low volume tend to fizzle out a little depending on the speaker size. one correction on my part, i originally meant to say the MG10, with such a small speaker you can only turn the volume down so low before it starts breaking up. the MG15 in this case would be the better deal, but the MG30 would give you the better overall experience though. turning the volume lower at night on the MG30 won't compromise on the sound as much, the reason being is cause the speaker is bigger. the bigger the size the more low volume you get, on the flipside because it has a bigger speaker it's not exactly what I'd call a amp for playing at night. but when you do turn the volume down to a respectable level, you'll still be able to hear it just enough without waking up or disturbing other people in the house.
@Bruce Dickinson hey as long as it works for you it's all good, your not kidding about prices though, there expensive here in America for some things. i don't know what $299 equals in Brazilian money, but that's how much the MG30 is, it was that price when i got one. the MG15 is cheaper, there like $199 here. but i don't have the MG15 anymore, i like Marshall but only there tube amps are any good, but there tube amps cost a fortune. i got the Boss Kitana 50, i feel for $299 which was the same price i paid for the MG30 is a better amp. not only do you get a bigger speaker, but you get alot more presets to choose from. i also got the Fender Mustang LT25 for night use, i only paid $199 for that one. i have a Yamaha Pacifica to, mine was like $250, but i also have a Telecaster from Squier, it's a Classic Vibe 50's Tele butterscotch.

thanks for the comparison. I was leaning towards the 15 as "better" but I like the clean, compact character of the 10, probably due to the smaller speaker. Volume is not an issue as I just play for myself.
I have both, my father bought me the mg15 and i was gifted the mg10, but to be honest i haven't used the mg10 a lot cause i have them in different houses.
Very good video, it's just what I was looking for, I want to buy the Marshall mg15 and listening to how it sounds with under the bridge by rhcp it sounds great🔥
Kinda hard to decide which one should I buy. I just started playing on guitar for 4 days now. I really want an emp bc now I use a headphone emp and it’s really bad and uncomfortable. The MG10 sounded so much cleaner than the MG15. But like. Damn 15W sounds so good but I hear some background noises and it’s really annoying but at the same time sounds really good.
im a year late but i want to give anyone else my advice cause i learnt the hard way firat i bought a frontman 1g hated it, then vox pathfinder 10, didnt really like it then eventually i got a Mustang micro headphone amp which is AMAZING i use it all the time but then finally i shelled out the extra cash for a MG15R and man i shoulda just bought that off the start instead of 2 crappier 10 watt amps hell i coulda bought a mg30 if i didnt buy the vox or frontman
I have a 15 year old Marshall MG10. It has a line out too.. and the little thing is serving me well till date. Can the headphone jack be used as a line out if connected with a quarter inch mono jack to the mixer or the PA system?
Thanks for this vudeo. I like your comparison reviews very much. In the video, I looks like a Bugera 15 amp with the white covering? I have one myself.
