- Frederick John Inman was an English actor and singer best known for his role as Mr. Humphries in Are You Being Served?, a British sitcom between 1972 and 1985. He was also a well-known character actor in the United Kingdom as a pantomime dame.

Thank you 👍👍👍👍
Thank you for making this video. John used to visit my parents house in London in the 70s. He really was a sweet man and just as witty off screen as on. When he used to leave, he would always do his I'm Free catchphrase. Geez how I miss those days. Thank you and God bless you x
This is USA calling... Yesterday while watching a tribute to Josephine Tewson (aka Hyacinth Bouquet's long-suffering neighbor to us Yanks) I learned of a short-lived sitcom she did with Inman in late 77- Odd Man Out. I located part of the pilot episode and found myself laughing at it HARD.
Great show it was
Lovely!- He was the real spark in "Are You Being Served"!! 👍💖🌈🇨🇦☘️
Another lovely man to watch. He was so funny.
Are You Being Served was my introduction to British comedy when certain TV stations here in the US began airing re-runs in the mid 1980's or so. Nobody could've played the part of Mr. Humphries quite like John did! One station in particular aired AYBS every weekday night promptly at 7:30 PM, and I looked forward to it with eager anticipation! I would laugh non-stop for a solid half-hour at the antics of the Grace Brothers staff! The raucous humor helped get me through some very difficult times in my life, especially when I was coming of age as a teenager in the 80's, and I am very grateful for it. It's all the more bittersweet to realize how the entire cast is gone now. May all their souls rest in peace.
I'm freeee!
Another discrete tribute to an iconic actor & yet another wonderful slide show!
Sometimes there's an element of sadness watching them.

Such a lovely person, we need more humour the way John brought to the television screens. Unfortunately what poses for humour today is just filth. Thank you for sharing your video. 😊😊😊😊🐱🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Nice volg "STAY SAFE"
I remember seeing him walking round Blackpool in the mid seventies dressed in a pink suit😃
I no longer watch Commercial Television but I still watch all my favourite Brit Comedies as no one does a British Comedy as we Brits. I watch the full series of "ARE YOU BEING SERVED" every day; together with other shows like On The Busses; Rising Damp, Hei Di Hi and Brush Strokes which takes me away from the drudgery of life. The one thing I was disappointed about was that you did not show the grave of John Inman, who was a brilliant actor. Thank you Stych. PS: What is the title of that piece of music that accompanied the video and slide show?
Happy Christmas both, I feel you treat this very well and I am always interested in where these star find their final resting place.
Hi Vince UK happy Xmas to you all too, appreciate your kind comments, all the best Mr and Mrs stytch 👍👍👍👍
