- Ten years ago today, the iconic Mollie Sugden passed away at the age of 86. I thought I'd mark the occasion by uploading a video I posted on my old UA-cam account of a BBC News report of her death on 1 July 2009.
Frank Thornton, Mollie's Are You Being Served? co-star pays tribute to her.
Loved this wonderful woman so much. What a fantastic talented lady she was. Will always love you. Xx
Mollie was a comic legend. I first saw her on Are You Being Served, and the show was popular enough on PBS that they also bought That's My Boy, and several other shows she starred in. I did enjoy it. Later in life I got to see some of her work on Corrie. I never saw a bad performance from her. A talent we were lucky to have.
R.I.P True Legend Mollie 🙏🏼
Oh I had no idea. She was so good. Never missed a show.
Love Mrs slocombe always
What a brilliant comedy actress.
Fantastic actress
You wouldn’t think she’d have outlived Wendy Richard.
Lovely x
She was the best SIP MOLLY
I think everyone from that show is gone, now. 😞
And we'll be next. P.S. the lady with the green hat was hot.
I believe the only living cast members are Penny Irving (Mr. Grace's red haired secretary), Vivienne Johnson (his nurse), and Candy Davis (one of Mr. Rumbold's secretaries)
@@gina_st.george , Actually Candy Davis passed away due to cancer. Spooner and the canteen lady are alive
The only one left is Mike Berry who came in as Mr Spooner in the last 2 series is the only cast member still alive.
@@julessherwood mr Spooner was in series 8 9 and 10. He replaced Trevor Bannister's character Mr Lucas
She was the COMIC VERSION OF MAY WEST.
What an interesting idea!!
@@elizabethsohler6516 She did the impression of her in one episode when they had to play gangsters to outwit criminals who had broken in to the store.
The Interview by Ben Brown is excruciatingly poor..
This is when the BBC started to go downhill
Ben Brown is still annoying and I’m afraid he is one amongst many just reading off an auto queue
I am so lucky I lived through both the BBC and ITV when they were at the top of their game with series like AYBS and the rest
I gave up watching mainstream media to include BBC , ITV, C4, C5, and Sky uk
There are still thousands of bbc employees still in furlough doing NOTHING
❤️❤️🤨🤨😙😙😝😝🤨🤨
