Great video, Nick -- Dirk has wrapped 10 cars for me with Xpel (7 full wraps) and his work is consistently excellent. Like most things in life, wraps are trade-offs; in my opinion, they can't quite duplicate the luster of a proper paint-corrected clearcoat finish, though Dirk can come close. But like you, I live in Fairfield County, which seems to have an endless natural supply of small stones and other debris on the roads year-round, which is thoughtfully supplemented by the DOT with tons of sand every time it snows. The worst of the winter sanding doesn't dissipate until April or even May, when the towns run their street sweepers. Over the years, I have come down solidly on the side of full wraps to protect the original paint on my cars -- with a wrapped car, my stress level about paint chips is close to zero, so I enjoy my driving far more. At least I don't freak out when I hit a patch of invisible gravel, which happens more often around here than you might think. Wraps (at least the Xpel wraps I have) are also easier to maintain than clearcoat -- much less likely to scratch when washing (always a risk, however careful you are), and the Xpel wrap is self-healing to some extent if you get something minor. You can also put a ceramic coating over the wrap to improve its appearance and resistance to chemical contamination, which Dirk does for me. As to your lovely green Macan, I am ordering a Z4 M/T and can't decide between San Francisco Red Metallic and San Remo Green Metallic. I normally would just go with red, but your video has me thinking seriously about green -- it looks gorgeous on your Macan. One last note is that one doesn't have to have an expensive car to justify a wrap -- it is worth it for any car for which you want to keep the paint perfect. I have joked about this with Dirk, but I bet the 10 cars he has wrapped for me are (with one exception) probably the least expensive cars he has ever wrapped. The cheapest? How about a 2002 Miata LS, a 2019 Fiesta ST and a 2021 Crosstrek M/T? The most expensive? Well, I watch Nick's channel, don't I? If you love the way your car(s) look, and you actually drive them, and you want to keep them beautiful, a wrap (with a ceramic coating on top) is the only way to go. Nick, thanks again for the video!
2:34 wow, those booty calls really raised the mileage on the Macan. I have two cars fully wrapped in Xpel, one done in 2018 and the other one last year. Expensive, but no chipped paint and it's a bliss to wash them.
What a coincidence! I was just talking about you and Will (Rennthusiast) with a fellow Porschephile the other day. Ironically it was regarding PPF here in Arizona. A state where protective film is absolutely necessary but does _NOT_ age well at all! Nevertheless, it is always a pleasure when either of you post some new content. Glad you are doing well brother. Stay classy my friend.
Hey Nick…….on your recommendation in December 2021 i took my car from PA to Darien Detail …….Stayed 2 nights there while they did my Macan GTS with Xpel plastic ………Very happy with the job and can’t imagine it could’ve been done better anywhere….well worth the trip……
Omg, so genuinely epic...that intro, even more so the outro... and it s such a great fit for you and your channel! The bit of quirkiness that actually adds to the cool factor! Lol, the good old button plethora nicely put in scene (f u, touchscreen mania!), the speed part and you even got the red KITT lights for the bumper, those must stay on! Just amazing, gotta rewatch it a few more times. Thanks for this!!!
Cool video and great to see how the film held up! @dariendetail did the PPF on my Papaya Macan straight from the dealership before I took delivery January last year and it still looks great! Sadly with the move to TX, I'm far from them back in CT. Great content Nick!
Glad to hear the PPF has worked so well for you Nick--a beautiful car. I saw your original video before buying my 2022 Macan S, but did not feel comfortable with my options here in KY for PPF. Driving it home less than 30 miles from the dealer on the interstate, a rock to the hood off a trailer took the paint off in 3 places just above the headlamp. Wish I would have taken my chances with the PPF. Great video as always.
Boy am I glad I watched till the end! Your best work so far!!! I'm not wrapping my beater Prius, but this video answers my long standing question about removing the film. I thought it might peel the paint with it.
1:00 Any video that significantly features the hounds, especially Tui supervising the production behind the scenes, is a great vid! Carry on, digger! 🐶 + 🥝 = 🔥
Love that green! I remember having to be talked into getting a racing green VW and it was only considered because of the interior color that I absolutely needed to have and is known has old man tan 😂.
If your getting a tune done Nick make sure if you have Sports Chrono that launch control still works and watch if your getting updates from Porsche that the tune isn’t overwritten 👍
I am waiting to hear your thoughts on the new hybrid carrera GTS! Digital gauge cluster, start/ stop button/ and hybrid single turbo 3.6 L flat six and two hybrid electric motors, one in the turbo and one between the engine and pdk gear box. Likely to be PDK only and I am not impressed.
Just wondering what you’d like when buying a pre owned car that has been PPF’d, left on for the ongoing benefit or removed so you know how perfect the paint still is?
Nick. Great video as always. Looks great. What is the cost of a full body PPF? Is the value added aspect the fact that it protects from stone chips etc?
Ducking a. It's been 5 years with the Macan? It feels like it was yesterday when I came across this channel when your 911 was giving you problems and the video went viral. 😳
@@ArtVandelayOfficial and you’ll never know until the PPF is removed & evaluate it. Otherwise the shop just recovers it again. So it’s a slippery slope
I've always had Xpel installed on my vehicles and quality installers are VERY hard to come by. Also, there is increasing debate on which film is best and a lot of people are popo-ing Xpel these days in favor of 3M or other brands. Which film is your go to?
That's Darien ,CT, my brother worked there on the third nicest golf course in town and it had bent grass fairways and cost 30K just to walk in the door( that was in the 90s). That is an extremely well to do area, that shop is nice, competent and they can charge for their work. Not a surprise it is spotless in there.
Loved this video. The Macan truly looked showroom new after the PPF refresh. @nick would love to see a video on how you care for the finish with PPF. Do you run it through automatic car washes? Did you ceramic coat the PPF? Do you use the “refresh” products available? Now that we’ve seen it after all those miles I’d love to hear about how you cared for it during that initial PPF period.
Hi Nick, This is Sanchit from India. I have been following your channel since 2018. Love your videos a lot. Could you please tell me what do you do to work for a living in the USA?
I was going to leave a snide comment about you still driving a baby hauler but then I saw the green in the sunlight (which looks fantastic) and decided not to and simply provide the sentiment instead. EDIT: In fact I think this colour forgives all of your past transgressions...the classical music, the monkey love, the terrible puns and even letting your sister get married.
Hello mate! I used to watch all your video but for some reason I am not getting them in my feed😡. Anyway, I got a new 911S 992 after waiting 18 months for it. It was well worth the wait. I have been driving it for about 2 months. I wanted to ask you a question since you are knowledgeable about Porsche and have extensive experience. Is it normal for the oil pressure to go up when accelerating. It stays normal when idle and it goes down when not accelerating. The warning light never comes on. It typically goes up to bout 4.5 bar from 2.2 bar. It then settles when reaching a constant speed. Also the battery voltage seems to fluctuate too but I can’t see a pattern to it. Again no warning light. Are the oil pressure and battery voltage linked to each other or are they linked to each other somehow? I don’t typically look at these things on my dashboard so I can’t say if it’s always been this way as I just noticed this today and was alarmed. I contacted Porsche and they are going to call me back as they have finished for the day. This is my dream car and I love it. It’s simply beautiful so you can imagine my concern. I would be grateful for any comments or thoughts on this😡😊
Lol - nine month winters!?! It's late Feb and already feels like spring, and this has been the case for at least the last 8 years. Winter doesn't start until January now too. CT is the new NC!
I’ll never understand the people who say it’s a waste of money. I regret not doing my car. Yeah, I could repaint, but it would never quite be the same. The people who say it starts looking bad after a few months probably haven’t seen a really good installation.
It depends on where you live, the climate, how much driving you do, how much you care about depreciation, etc. If you live in urban California and only drive 5000 miles a year, it's probably a waste of money.
0:12 this is the kind of camera work we’ve come to expect from Nick Murray Productions. Well done 👌🏻
unrivaled professionalism.

Thanks for bringing the Macan by Nick! Was great to catch up and be able to revisit the PPF we had done in 2019.
The name of the owner sounds pretty German to me. Any heritage there?
My local Scottsdale Porsche dealership say a lot of people don’t care for this color, but I personally absolutely love it ❤👍
Mamba green is the BEST color.
Darien Detail did my Spyder thanks to Nick's videos. They are the ultimate professionals. Excellent work and well worth the money.

Looks amazing. Do you have to wash it differently? Obviously no waxing required?
The Outro deserves an Emmy
Great video! Fun and informative. Question: I tried to watch closely but I'm not sure if it was mentioned if you had the headlights PPF'ed?
Love the gray Ferrari exactly because it’s unusual.
Yep, modern good PPF (like XPEL Ultimate gloss) really does protect the car well

Love the outro N-I-C-K 🤣🤣

I'm not sure I could live with that colour every day. Maybe, but I think I would prefer Papaya Metallic if I were going for an extroverted colour.
The grey Rari is 🫶. Beauty shop and car lineup ! 👍👍
Is there PPF on the headlights? How much does it cost to have a car done.
Did You use the same Brand / Product PPF this time around? Is it XPEL Ultimate Plus?
Nick, removal of buttons was a downgrade! The new fingerprint-saturated piano black touch console looks fugly.
Agreed. I won't be buying a new Macan because of their idiotic touchscreen tech. I'll be buying a used 2018/2019 or shopping for a different product.
Make the roads more colorful!!
Keep pushing to people keep buying colorful cars

Hi Nick subscribed, what is more reliable the 2015 to 2018 macan base or macan s? And why?
I’ve had custom ‘cut’ jobs leave knife marks all over my Porsche. It’s all about the installer.
That's what I'm afraid of
And if they did do it a little by accident I doubt they'd say anything
@@ArtVandelayOfficial and you’ll never know until the PPF is removed & evaluate it. Otherwise the shop just recovers it again. So it’s a slippery slope
