For those wondering, NO this ranking was not only based around HUGS, or Hunter and Gunslinger. The footage was all taken with a HUGS build so you can get some comparison between them. However, I ranked them from everything they bring to the table. Mod capabilities, overall ranged damage, ammo amount, reload speed, and in general how they feel. The dialogue expresses where weapons shine, may that be ranged damage, or something else. Also, all tier lists are opinion based so no hate if you like a weapon I ranked lower. The setup you propose seems nice but you invest too hard on heating reduction. The ring is more than enough with hugs. Then you invest in ctitical and enjoy. You get reload from mod and relic, besides manural reload with gunslinger skill is not bad. Around 3,5-4k dps with all cds on weakspots. I will go higher once i get new mutator.
Aphelion, Monarch, Monolith are my favorite three long guns and Starshot, Nebula, and Engima for pistols. Depends on build but Cube gun and rune pistol really great as well.
Recommendation to make savior fun: GFG security lanyard and extender mutator, you don't reload the gun at all, pairs well with having the bolt driver as a secondary, anguish, or the corrupted meridian because archer's crest works with savior as well as both of those weapons.
Yup. Making it not reload is the best way. Because with just 6 bullets you have to use the absolutely terrible reload animation it has over and over. Provisioner ring is amazing as well I noticed.
@@SheenShots Provisioner's is probably the best choice, biggest problem with the lanyard is that while the "no reload" helps, it isn't granting you huge buffs like Nightweaver's grudge or notable flat bonuses like the Ankh of power. It's better to lose a ring slot compared to an amulet in this case
The MP40 is my most used gun for my sidearm, but it also has the mod that you shoot and spikes come out, then I use the Chicago Typewriter and choose the mod for the mission I am running, but I change to the Plasma Cutter, since it's my 2nd most upgraded weapon for a problematic boss fight. I am still getting more weapons and gear, so everything might change. I was using a different melee, until I got the Spear and I upgraded the Spear, and now that's my main, until I can upgrade something else and switch it out for a different load out build. I have helped a friend on a Apothic boss, even though I don't have Apothic unlocked myself, so now that I got a taste of that and know my build can handle the final boss, just barely, on Apothic, I am going to work on getting Apothic unlocked for myself. It would be awesome to get even better gear. I can't wait to see how you placed my weapons and figure out what to get for myself or build next.
Running a Ritualist + Summoner (+summoner amulet) shock+bleed build with the Enigma and Merciless. It's crazy how much status effect melts health bars.
Ran the bonesaw first run, expected to get rid of it when i got something better, realized that wasn't gonna happen when i beat the final boss with it lol.
I’ve honestly had the most fun with starkiller out of all the long guns in the game. I generally play on veteran so I don’t need an amazing build. The way the primary fire feels is perfect for how I play. And it’s very satisfying to get a huge mob of enemies sucked into the black hole. I just hope the devs buff the suction of the mod to be on par with or better than firestorm.
I use widowmaker with slayer, and bore on my spectral blade build for easy procs on the ring that requires 75% of a mag. To grant shield. And bore allows the whirlwind to hit weakspot dmg.
Honestly pick the one that feels right for you. For example, Pulse rifle and Alpha/Omega both shoot burst fire, however you need to tap to shoot the rifle and you can hold down the button for Alpha/O. Nighfall, while great as gun, it kills your finger and mouse switch for how fast you have to tap that. Shooting the mod without any recoil mitigation traits or items can literally make you feel sick due to screen shake. Monarch has a similar issue with too fast screen shaking. Fusion rifles feel bad, like your mouse or controller has disconnected since they don't have any reticle indicator that it's charging like bows have. The only exception being savior since it uses the bow reticle. Deceit feels clunky to use if you're a fast reaction player since it forces you to have time delay between your actions due to it being a fusion rifle and using melee which is a full animation.(even if you don't need to switch to melee in this game) Crescent moon bow while feeling nice as a weapon it has a slight whine noise it makes that some people hear and find it really irritating. As well as in certain areas filling the room with the glow it makes leading to a weird distracting effect depending on your graphics card. Merciless which might be the signature weapon of this game has really slow projectiles as mentioned but often the mod misses even though it feels like it should hit. It feels bugged. Corrupted merciless has a very high recoil and a bad reticle choice as well as slow fire rate. so Slow that you can get 3+ mouse clicks in before it fires the second shot. Plasma rifle's beam covers the reticle and you instinctively try to aim the beam instead, causing you to miss because you didn't/can't follow the reticle. So really, get the one you feel most comfortable with since most gun built in quirks can be mitigated or worked towards your advantage with your build.
Having played Remnant: From the Ashes I got the Wrangler the second I could recognizing it as my old Hunting Rifle which was my main weapon in the first game. Still my main here, 60 hours later.
Actually ran the Wrangler in the first game for a really long time. Was always my starting choice character as well just because it provided such an advantage.
The huntress spear hard carried my first playthrough with nightfall getting me out of a pinch and cube gun protecting me from things like annihilations orbs
25:32 Nice! I've just picked this weapon up 😃 maybe it will help as you say with some boss fights, the coach gun is still my main trusty weapon at the moment
I agree Monarch is king. Sagittarius is actually quite excellent if you build around it, you do have to ignore the weapon mod though. Bows are just fun though really engaging to play with.
I just started playing and I love it didnt know gearbox made this I'm a huge borderlands fan this game is ridiculously underrated its criminal. The coop is the only reason I wanted to try it and now I'm hooked.
21:17 abrasive rounds are better now granting lifesteal on top of burn, corrosive, and diminishing heals thanks to bleed making it a triple threat demon of a gun
I'm sure I'm not the only one but the quest to find a gun that kills things the quickest is fun yet infuriating 😂 so far the coach gun and double barrell do it for me yet I still search for more!! 😂
I got back to remnant (no internet) I was lookin at the new dlc reviews about the monarch. People complained about it. So once I got in game and just ended up with it... I swear I almost immediately sat and think of builds around it 😂 I didn't wanna let it go
watching this video and im amazed at the amount of weapons it has, i finished the game on veteran yesterday and im pissed that i never got more than 5 weapons during the whole campaing my long gun was the huntsmaster M1 and depending where i was i switched between cube gun and the service pistol is a shame the devs chose to hid alot of content like that im not gonna replay everything just to get the guns so w/e still great game tho
Nice! It's funny when you watch enough of your stuff to know where some clips come from. My spidey senses are saying the handgun video is coming soon :X
I’m on my second play through and I love the spark fire shotgun. I am currently doing a medic summoner but I’m gonna swap out medic for ritualist once I get some more DoT specific gear
I have over 400 hours of play and in my opinion bulldog shotgun is definitely one of the best weapons in the game as I have played through Apocalypse and Hardcore with this weapon several times 😎👍
First of all thanks for taking the time to do these videos that kinda feel like deep dives because they’re packed with well tested advice. Secondly, do you think you’ll make new tier vids after The Forgotten Kingdom? I know the patched had some balancing and there’s all the new items across the board to consider.
Most likely yes. Although it will take some time to test all the new items and gear. So I would not expect anything for a bit. Lots of info to pull together after that massive change to the game. Pretty crazy.
@@SheenShotsthat’s fair, yeah the patch notes seem to just keep going forever. Maybe we could get a mod rank vid at some point as well. I have shared your channel with my remnant buds. Really appreciate your content!
If you want to listen to cool about bows every single time you put a new shot into it. Or shoot it again, it counts as a reload. Therefore, all your reload thing's actually boosted.
I think the Corrupted Deciet mod is a lot easier to use than the normal version. It’s smoother for me to just hit the button than having to switch to melee and back which often causes the deceit to not fire unless you hit the button again. It might be a controller thing vs keyboard/mouse but it happens all the time. Losing Butchers Fetish is the biggest downfall but it shreds anyway. And not to be too contrarian here, but I think savior is a lot of fun to use. The argument that you should just use a bow is not wrong, but I just enjoy using it. I also like bows, but I think savior is fun.
I am a newbie to Remnant and soulslike games in general, so I may be slightly uninformed here, but - I really don't get your ranking of the Ford's Scattergun. It's a beast even not at close range, can run any mod, the spread can be fixed with Tranquility Font and also the trait that reduces spread and recoil, and you have the Hunter to extend the range and the ranged damage. You can basically negate all of the weapon's drawbacks. That's solid design. I'm not saying it's an S-Tier, but IMO it's not more than one tier or at worst two tiers worse than the Sparkfire. I'd personally rank it an A tier. Really enjoy your content and delivery. Solid work!
This comes to personal choice. At the end of the day all of its benefits are great, but if I want a gun with a free mod slot I almost always go chicago or blackmaw. Fords without gunslinger also has a very "Hang up" style of reload where it can feel awkward in a tough fight. Mainly, it doesn't have a good place for actual builds. Sporebloom is a better shotgun, and the bulldog feels more reliable in dungeons with more ammo. Still puts out some nasty damage though which makes it easy to like.
@@SheenShots Fair enough and thanks for the detailed response. Personally I main Hunter/Summoner and used Ford's for my first Apocalypse clear and actually found the Typewriter and Bulldog to be inferior choices to the Ford's - again, based on my playstyle and preference. Appreciate your videos friend, good work!
I have nearly 500 hours and almost everything in the game after the 3rd dlc. . . I haven’t.. I had no idea “Gunslinger” was an actual thing 😭 I guess the game bugged out on me so long ago but to just find out ToNight I’m missing a whole subclass.. man, that shits crazy. Love the videos tho man, been watching all of them while doing this brain-dead exp farm on marrow parish
I agree with pretty much all of this, I actually am doing some more experimenting with the coach gun after seeing this because it always seemed like it never filled a shotgun or a midrange option quite right. I am a bit shocked though by your take on alpha/omegas ranged damage. I'm sure it doesn't cap out like some of the other options but it's always been very impressive imo with the bandit mutator to extend your period of increased fire and charge rate with decent stagger. Just has an incredibly sluggish reload. Great guide though I loved it!
I know it's more of a personal skill issue, but i hate using monarch when dealing with aerial enemies. The projectiles from the monarch don't connect/hit like normal bullets do, and they require more leading while aiming. I usually just switch to typewriter when dealing with flyers on yaesha and n'erud.
It is definitely more finicky with flying enemies. You have to sort of pull the bullets in the direction you want. Feels awkward on say corruptor for sure.
Run Apehelion with Momentum and be sure to max out Kinship trait. Same issue as Starshot weapon. But need try corrupted version. I love corrupted Rune pistol better than normal rune pistol. BUT I agree- Monarch and Monolith are best guns in game.
Thank you for these reviews, I've just started Remnant 2 and really enjoying it. Question on the reload speeds you mention here - is there not a function whereby if you roll when reloading the weapon reloads immediately? This would surely negate a lot of the reload speed issues you call out. I can appreciate though if you are purely measuring the reload performance without say, 'gimmicks' :)
There are a variety of ways to reload weapons. Most often rings do it, but perfect dodges, sliding, and automatic reload overtime as well. The issue is, most work really well with low ammo gun. Shot guns and snipers. Usually it is better to run a automatic without as it isn't quite efficient enough. That being said, automatics usually have mutators like thousand cuts to improve reload. Most of these methods were added after this video, and even then it doesn't hurt the guns THAT much. Just takes away their versatility if you aren't able to handle the longer reloads. But it is true I tend to mention a weapons downsides even if there is a way to fix it. Just so you know what to look at when using it.
Hey mate awesome video ! Would you change something after the time regarding the ranking ? and the Deceit build only works well with the hero sword, is that right ? Because without it kinda sucks to me ^^
It's wild that Starkiller fell off in this game when I was able to make it the best gun in the game in Remnant 1. Easily killing bosses in 1-4 shots with the black hole's detonation doing 10k+ damage easily.
I eat all the video, i love your runs and build ,ty in special because i can beat apocalypsis with your help. A question ,you can give me any tips to beat harcore /veteran( i want the savior :·3), maybe the best advice its practice but ...x'D
Great video! There's a long gun I am recently seeing some players use, not sure what it is? It seems to fire fully automatic, very fast, and it seems to shoot four or five rounds at once together... These rounds aren't following each other, but they are all together? Your thoughts thanks
Does archers crest only work on bows and fusion rifles? Would really like to use that ring on monarch, or aphelion, etc. Also, which weapons actually classify as fusion rifles, can you list them for me?
The only gun I ever use is blackmaw its the best weapon in the game in my opinion. I also wish I could get my build featured but I doubt that’s ever going to happen
I feel bad for ppl who never got to feel what it was like to use the REAL Savior in R1. It was a fkn rail gun from hell. Bring that back to my hands in R2 and toss whatever this new abomination is to the wolves
Throw on corrupted savior with the Detonator +10 mutator. Then put on zero divide, zanias malace, probability cord, braided thorns, and blasting cap ring with either HUGS or warden/gunslinger. Then go for these pylon bonuses explosive dmg, Mod DMG, mod build up, crit dmg, weakspot dmg, reload speed, or fire rate boost. The 3 you definitely want are mod dmg, mod buildup and explosive dmg. If you can get those 3 with fire rate and weakspot or crit dmg you'll be so damn happy! Nothing feels better! I don't want to stop playing boss rush because corrupted Savior feels so damn good to use! Highly recommend trying it out, you may come out of the run with a much greater respect for the gun in this game.
Running sequenced shot and archers crest with crescent bow is bad because your charge will be instant, meaning you're going to be missing that perfect charge damage bonus most of the time. Better to not run archers crest.
Not necessarily. In fact it is better to run both if you are wanting to instant release the arrow. In my opinion, which it is all opinion based, running without it is harder to hit the perfect shot because now you can't instant release or correctly time the charge. Not bad, just different.
Crossbow can become one of the strongest hitting weapons if you use bottom feeder and some other things :D ua-cam.com/video/KYW-_1QPzG0/v-deo.html I mean this build is super clunky and I'd never use it, but if you consider this build, then Crossbow gets AT LEAST an A tier.
No not really though. That is a gimmick mutator not really the weapon. Overall that would just mean that that mutator is amazing, while the gun overall is one of the best to use it with.
I just started playing with Deceit yesterday and was wondering what to do to make it work. I don't have the hero's sword but recently got Krell axe so i'm figuring that'll work as well.
Battery is perfect if you are using archers crest. This is because the damage increase on battery is way to good to pass up. If you don't want want archers crest on them supercharger is better as the gun does not fire fast enough without at least one of them.
I get it that you want to use the "best build for damage". Now will this gun be the same if i go with a suport type class, i dont focuse on damage and my rings/amulet/reluiq/shards are not related for damage but for healing and ability use. Can we consider this too for _raw_ damage of 'em guns?
Just curious, what weapon mutator would you run with the Nightfall weapon? I heard you mention some rings, but what about the mutator? Unless I don't have what you mentioned.
Fire rate and crit is the key. Use the crit chance and damage fragments. Then add on the firerate one. Run Hunter for the crit and gunslinger for the fire rate. Nigh weavers grudge, atonement fold, zanias malice, probability cord, ring of infinite damage. Use momentum as the mutator and your good.

For example,
Pulse rifle and Alpha/Omega both shoot burst fire, however you need to tap to shoot the rifle and you can hold down the button for Alpha/O.
Deceit feels clunky to use if you're a fast reaction player since it forces you to have time delay between your actions due to it being a fusion rifle and using melee which is a full animation.(even if you don't need to switch to melee in this game)
Crescent moon bow while feeling nice as a weapon it has a slight whine noise it makes that some people hear and find it really irritating.
The Wrangler is the lever action rifle that's a better version of the starting gun from the tutorial, yeah?
The huntress spear hard carried my first playthrough with nightfall getting me out of a pinch and cube gun protecting me from things like annihilations orbs
25:32 Nice! I've just picked this weapon up 😃 maybe it will help as you say with some boss fights, the coach gun is still my main trusty weapon at the moment
I agree Monarch is king. Sagittarius is actually quite excellent if you build around it, you do have to ignore the weapon mod though. Bows are just fun though really engaging to play with.
I suck so much at this game but cant stop playing it. I dont understand half this stuff! its great 😁
I just started playing and I love it didnt know gearbox made this I'm a huge borderlands fan this game is ridiculously underrated its criminal.
I swear I almost immediately sat and think of builds around it 😂 I didn't wanna let it go
Excellent reference for the community. Thanks Sheen!
watching this video and im amazed at the amount of weapons it has, i finished the game on veteran yesterday and im pissed that i never got more than 5 weapons during the whole campaing my long gun was the huntsmaster M1 and depending where i was i switched between cube gun and the service pistol
is a shame the devs chose to hid alot of content like that im not gonna replay everything just to get the guns so w/e still great game tho
Nice! It's funny when you watch enough of your stuff to know where some clips come from. My spidey senses are saying the handgun video is coming soon :X
Lol yep. That stream was more or less to make this video which ended up going very well. Can't believe we got all the weapon in in one go.
I’m on my second play through and I love the spark fire shotgun. I am currently doing a medic summoner but I’m gonna swap out medic for ritualist once I get some more DoT specific gear
love these vids man
Glad to hear it.
I have over 400 hours of play and in my opinion bulldog shotgun is definitely one of the best weapons in the game as I have played through Apocalypse and Hardcore with this weapon several times 😎👍
@spidermeng1846 you should set handling and range to max
My brother your very entertaining great video my bro first time watching and getting a sub
Awesome, glad to hear it!
Nice video en clear explanation. Thanks this is useful.👍
If you want to listen to cool about bows every single time you put a new shot into it. Or shoot it again, it counts as a reload. Therefore, all your reload thing's actually boosted.
As a spore bloom enjoyer, please consider using the bandit mutator with it. Its rng for sure but it feels so good when the numbers go your way.
Thanks for another great video
Right on. Thank you, always appreciate the build guide.
Now need to add the Forgotten Kingdom guns
I like your style buddy you're a good man.
Because without it kinda sucks to me ^^
Great video. You earned that pizza. 😊
It's wild that Starkiller fell off in this game when I was able to make it the best gun in the game in Remnant 1. Easily killing bosses in 1-4 shots with the black hole's detonation doing 10k+ damage easily.
The thumbnail literally got the top 3 weapons I use the most
Your video is very good👍🏻
I love the vid but you really did Sagittarius dirty 😭😭
When are we having an updated tier list for all your videos. I liked them but new weapons and mods etc have been released
I eat all the video, i love your runs and build ,ty in special because i can beat apocalypsis with your help.
A question ,you can give me any tips to beat harcore /veteran( i want the savior :·3), maybe the best advice its practice but ...x'D
the Archon class starts out with Bonesaw and Enigma two of best weapons in the game.
I hate that they didnt make a new lever action. Lever action rifles in person are the coolest🤙🏾
Personal favorite gun is the Plasma Cutter & Monarch just for the skill loop 😂
The Sunken Witch popped up and i had to take a second look at this video and make sure I was watching Remnant 2 and not RE Village
21:49 Chicago Typewriter is a slang term used for a Tommy gun, mobsters used back in the 20's
The R1 version was one of the coolest weapons I have ever used. Laser beams or infinite bullets. Bother modes where awesome.
Highly recommend trying it out, you may come out of the run with a much greater respect for the gun in this game.
thanks
star killer is basically particle accelrator in remnant 1
Real Shame the crossbow and the particle accelerator (starkiller) aren't very great because they were amazing in the first remnant
Crossbow can become one of the strongest hitting weapons if you use bottom feeder and some other things :D
ua-cam.com/video/KYW-_1QPzG0/v-deo.html
I mean this build is super clunky and I'd never use it, but if you consider this build, then Crossbow gets AT LEAST an A tier.
No not really though. That is a gimmick mutator not really the weapon. Overall that would just mean that that mutator is amazing, while the gun overall is one of the best to use it with.
I used crossbow the whole time, I think I'll upgrade to widowmaker^^
I have a bone to pick with how you just destroyed Savior with your review then hit it with a C tier and not F 😭
Crazy thing is, the item is actually an S tier weapon after DLC 2. Last patch really changed the ranged builds that much which is wild.
Twisted arbalest is F tier…all righty then…next UA-camr, thanx bye! This guy is whacked out on goofballs.
Yes it was a terrible weapon. It however did get buffed since this video and is not much better. Easy B at this point.
ima need the build list for A and S cuz it's a lot esp if you've not played since release
do this agin after they realse second batch of corupted weapons-twisted arblast, sorow, saviour, cubegun, nebula
what weapons are you using on your main buildd? Im playing HUGS as well
Me, who only used the bulldog and the sawwed off shotgun: 😮
I just started playing with Deceit yesterday and was wondering what to do to make it work. I don't have the hero's sword but recently got Krell axe so i'm figuring that'll work as well.
Bro put Sparkfire A Tier because "He doesn't like the sound" 🤣 shits wild
It got A tier because damage is the main perk of the gun. You use it because it pairs very well with elemental builds or mod regen builds.
Thoughts on supercharger vs battery for deceit builds?
Battery is really good on it. Since you will be using its mod as often as possible.
@@SheenShots oh, Battery is the mutator. Okay, thank you so much. Appreciate your time.
Could someone tell me the names of the rings for the build?
1. Is atonement fold and 2. Is zania's malice. 3. I don't know either
It's probability cord
Sub machine gun is best imo. Give it shock ammo mod and watch things drop
How would you optimize Monarch with a HUGs build in terms of equipment?
Fire rate and crit is the key. Use the crit chance and damage fragments. Then add on the firerate one. Run Hunter for the crit and gunslinger for the fire rate. Nigh weavers grudge, atonement fold, zanias malice, probability cord, ring of infinite damage. Use momentum as the mutator and your good.
