Phil Collins is a monster of the 80s hits. He's in his 70s and very sick.
He is a master please check him out more and I guarantee you have heard a ton of sons you didn't know was Phil. He started as a drummer with a band called genesis in the 70s. Check out I don't care anymore or and thing Phil Collins. He is legendary.
Born in ‘63, I’ve heard all the great classics. This was the first most epic drum riff, I had ever heard when it first came out, and it’s still epic.

The TV show Miami Vice
Phil was drummer and lead vocalist for the band Genesis. This was his first solo hit. It ended up in all sorts of movies, TV shows, sports (NBA, NFL, etc) and ad campaigns. It was huuuuuge when it came out in the early 80s. If you like this song you'd probably like the song Mama from Genesis. It has a similar feel to this. The song is based around Phil's divorce although rumors for years took the lyrics literally and had people believing Phil witnessed a murder and watched the murderer did. Phil set everyone straight on it being a simple case of divorce.
Phil's bandmate in Genesis, Mike Rutherford, made his own side band when Phil went solo. They were called Mike and the Mechanics and they were an amazing band too with a few major hits to their name.
Miami Vice used this music a lot.

Yeah he is a legend Especially because of this particular song Maybe not a top tier legend But the riff in this song with the drums is perhaps the most famous moment in any song in history and I’m not even using hyperbole Maybe a little bit
