I'm so happy that this video exists! I came across the exact same tree in my basement that the previous owner left behind. It was also missing part of the base. I tried a few methods to craft one.. nothing held and it kept leaning! I kept it just incase, now here we are! I'm so happy 😊 You saved not only this tree's life, but mine as well 😂

YOU just saved me some money!! And a lot of time!!! I have small circle weights !! I am taking a top portion of a tree and making it into a table top tree. The hole in the middle of the weights with some fabric stuffed in it should work. Now I only need to find a pot the weights will fit in.

I am an artificial tree rescuer. 😂 I am also a dumpster diver so I find NEW returned trees that have lights out or something else wrong with part of the tree. I have fixed a few and had brand new trees with little work.
You can always take the lights off and do it the old school way and add your own lights. Bottom sections can be cut up and made into garland or used as filler on other projects.
If you have the top and middle section with working lights you can have a smaller tree.
Top section only can be a tabletop tree. I found a top only (I think the rest of the tree may have been buried in the craft store dumpster. The lights work. I am going to make a stand like this for it and use it as a table top tree! My old table top tree is about 20 years old. I loved it so much because it was a fiber optic one. But it smells like petroleum! And the faux needles are falling off like crazy. I’m gonna keep it for a DIY project for later.
But now I have a new table top lighted tree …. As soon as I make the pot part to hold it up. I am probably going to wrap it in burlap.

Thank you for this clever idea!!! I too had a Christmas tree (I love!) with a broken stand and I was trying to figure out how to make shift another stand.

Love this! Thank you! I just found a pre-lit 6 1/2 foot tree today with those legs missing. That was all that was “wrong” with it and I salvaged it from someone’s trash. It’s in fantastic shape!

This is brilliant! Thank you for posting. We just had a winter storm in which the snow was so heavy it broke my porch tree at the base. This is the smartest idea. Thank you so much!!!

This is the video I've needed the last two Christmas's. Lost one of the pieces to my tripod stand but haven't wanted to throw the tree away because of that. First year with missing part I tried massive amounts of duct tape on the two pieces that I still had to try and get the tree to stand with the one piece missing. Didn't really work till I put something under the raised side that was missing the piece and then massive amounts of tape and it sort of worked. Last year though I just didn't want to fight with it, with having to re-tape it everyday so I took it down and this year I didn't even bother trying, tape is expensive haha

Do you have a video of the cement & PVC pipes you talked about in your blog? My tree has a fat end that the legs go into instead of a base like this so it won't fit inside the bricks.

That's what I've used but it's the bricks that hold the tree stand in place. Or u can do concrete and pvc pipe. I share that tutorial at my blog if you click through to the link!
