I don't know WHY anyone would argue/complain about how you build your trucks, from what i can see all your trucks are badass, nice job, great tutorial & links. FYI: that dually is especially BADAZZ!!!
19:53 OMFG! Now I finally understand how a panhard bar works. You explain in real language.
Finally a down to earth builder. Great job bro. Keep it up
Great video! Like others have said.. simple explanations, not just a bunch of rambling about part numbers and fancy terminology. Can't wait to see more videos of the rock crawling Escalade!!
Hey Waffles! This is exactly the video I was looking for. My first project ever was a Traxxas Revo 3.3 electric conversion, using a bunch of different parts I pieced together. With a lot of trial and error, I finally got it almost perfect for ripping up the sand and gravel out here. I want to learn how to build a crawler from scratch. I'm so glad I found your video on how to do this. You are so awesome about "build your own style". You are calm and thorough on your explanations. I appreciate that. I want to build a four wheel steer. I can't wait to see your rock crawling Escalade!
Exactly the video I was looking for. Looking to get a 1/10 crawler but didn’t want to buy a kit that I comes with a bunch of junk I won’t use
Hey Waffles! TY for the great video once again, hey a trick I use on those pins on either axles or driveshafts is, you cut a small piece of heat shrink tubing, slide it over the drivesshaft end to where you can tighten the set screw or slide the pin in, then you slide the heatshrink back over the pin and apply heat, I like to use the marine tubing, then you can just slice it off if you ever have to get it back off!
Well that will be happening to the fleet now. Thank you very much!
@WafflesRC-pb4nt Anytime, I got the marine heatshrink at HarborFreight. The Marine tubing won't move on you like the reg. Heatshrink does, it's got a sealant on the inside that helps it stay in place better.
Wonderful idea thank you
Thanks for making my day. Love your work and the way you explain, it's more about having fun.
19:02min part, just made my day.. almost give up on how to fit longer motor.. thnks for the idea mate.. cool build btw..
Just found your channel, love the content. I like how you just build what you want to build. I watched all the way to the end.
I wanna see a rock crawling Escalade
Thank you for watching all the way through haha
Rock crawling escalade on adjustable suspension. Sick!
Man,... and that's how you explain everything in to HOW TO's.
Direct, simple and yet very educational. I loved it. Keep it up always and take care sir.
Thank you very much!!
great vid for the people getting into the hobby, or wanting to do a custom build. love that you don't buy into hype. who cares what the brand is, as long as it works for you is a great way to look at stuff.
Thank you very much!!
Definitely nice info 👍🏼
I like this video very well done. I personally have built my fare share of kits and so forth. I personally enjoy them complete then love to severely cut section pinch what ever the bodies build my own bumpers stingers sliders etc. I built my own rod bender and enjoy using my employers tig welder.
I’ve don’t a c-notched axial wroncho using my flux core 110 HF welder. Was a little messy but if controlled right works well. You have been motivating me to do this on my channel since I haven’t made a video in idk 6months or more. I’m busy with home life sobriety classes and have had so many of these things it’s ah yeah cool ya know. I prefer to drive them but that’s my perspective. My garage is almost completed and would like to start doing this again. I just month ago bent up some sliders for my TFL bronco out of .032 t6061 scrap aluminum here at work they work great protecting the fiberglass body.
I super have enjoyed your videos and your personality I’m idk 35-50% through all of them since started watching beginning or last week. Thank you again for your entertainment and originality.
Great Video! Hope you build more of these aftermarket parts
Top stuff there!
Awesome keep doing what you're doing and I will keep watching and crawling
Sweet rides bro🎉
Great useful video. It was worth a like for the intro music alone...🤘
rock crawler escalade!! or however thats written. Very nice video, ty for all the info!
It just seems wrong not watch until the end of the video lol you got great fab skills glad I found your videos
love this stuff. i have been making my own trying to do adjustable suspension to have a crawler that can turn into a high speed 60+ mph. i destroyed one 2 speed transmission and one rear axle. work in progress. cant wait to see what ideas you use for yours.
Love the video!!!
1st video i have ever watched from you. Your intro music is Bad ass!!!!
wow just got my sub just took early retiermant and all ways wanted a rc after over a week of solid research on yt finaly found a proper to understand watt is needed to get going many thanks for making it understandable
Rock crawling Escalade!! I had the same idea for servo adjusted suspension, waiting on parts right now!
Ya I still don't know if it will work. But I'll never know if I don't try. I'm going to test my idea this weekend!
Rock Crawling Escalade. LOL
How Build a 1/10 Scale Crawler With Only Aftermarket Parts!!!~~~ Wow awesome video, and cool rc car 👍👍💯
Thank you very much!!
I subscribed awesome video
Hey Waffles, great video. I wish you gave us a complete parts list and cost. Sometimes I get confused while looking up parts on what to go with.
I been in the hobby on and off for many years. I really enjoyed your how to video and howyou explained how and why. I was one of the first that explained both. Keep up with the great work
Thank you so much!
I have a hsp boxer, Want to do something similar, do you know which axels fit? :/ i have Googled and cant finde anny. AMAZING video!
I prefer to have the steering servo on the axle. I feel as if the steering is more responsive, more accurate. There is just something about having the servo mounted on the chassis I don't trust.
nice man i have one set off this to can you help me on a problem if you have time many tks
Hey man I don’t know you. But I just wanted to to say you have inspired me to build myself a few trucks. I like your style. You like to be different. Sound like you would be a cool dude to have a cold one or smoke one with while we crawl tiny trucks 🤟🏼
Thank you very much! I do like to be different. There is no fun in having the same trucks that everyone else has.
Another awesome video! Thanks man! Ever thought of doing a 1/6 scale from scratch? Maybe a rock crawling Escalade? 😉
haha ya i do have plans to do a 1/6 scale. And just like all my other trucks, it's going to be very different!
Someone in my local crawler group is selling some stock scx6 axles if you’re interested!
Haha thank you but go figure I just ordered some housings to get started on that one
A rock crawling escalade?!
thanks for sharing your build. 21:37 when the front is fully compressed there is still a big gap between top of front axle diff cover and bottom of motor transmission. That motor placement results in high CG. Can you mod it to lower the motor position?
I'm not able to because if I put it any lower, the motor hit the steering arm on the servo.
I recently just got into the hobby again could you give me the size of drive shaft length I plan tho make mine step by step to this video
Im really interested to see where you get the Escalade body from
Great work man
I got the body from AMain Hobby. It was a really good price as well.
Hey Waffles thanks for taking the time to make the Videos. Currently building my first truck from scratch. I'm still a bit of a noob and was wondering on the four wheel stir is there a kit or do you just get two front axels? Thanks
The axles on my 4WS are AR60 knock offs but I did find a kit for those to convert the back axle. I don't see anything wrong with doing another front axle personally. I'm sure alot of people out there will say otherwise, but who needs their negativity haha... I would just make sure they are both servo on axle for the steering.
Try making your rigs with 90mm - 100mm shocks
Keep them low and functional
110mm plus are too high
that’s a rock crawling escalade
how much is everything fully built
nevermind price came to 411.92 before tax and shipping
No Escalade In Australia.
For your adjustable suspension ("that's gunna be a Cadillac Escalade"), wouldn't you need to do some crazy esc/ecm/receiver coding? I just don't get how you could make that work without doing super deep into the electronics/coding but I'm new to all this so I'm prolly missing something easy ha.
There are a couple of videos on it on my channel that explain what I did for it. It was a lot easier than even I thought haha... Hope you go and check them out and enjoy them!
how do you feel about the axial pro kits that are pretty pricey?.... i think they have no body or electronics and are something like $450
Honestly I dont see a point in them for me personally at that price. Now if you are dedicated to doing comps, I do see the benefits of them. I feel that it all comes down to what you want to do with it. I like to make mine very robust because I put mine though alot that the comp style rigs wouldn't like. At the end of the day it all comes down to each person's budget and what they want to do with them.
What's the best diy for the AR 60 axles?
They are a really wide axle so I'd say a buggy or something big and tall like my mud truck. I've had to a lot of trimming to get them to work with the tires on my red jeep.
Hyee, check with u, is the receiver water proof?
Yes it is as far as I have experienced. It still is a good idea to use some dielectric grease on the plugs.
Escalade on the rocks, please... 😂
I buy the driveshafts at max length and cut them to size as needed.
What do u think about the danchee ridgerock
The Ridgerock is probably the best budget crawler out there! I bought 4 of them, Redcat has them for $111 right now! And there's a lot of mods that you can do for very cheap or free
I love mine!!!!!!it was my second rc 2 years ago back into hobby, still drive it today and totally upgradeable!
Sweet thank you definitely getting one for me and my 3 year old
Rock crawling Escalade
👍💪great job 🛻
Thank you very much!
I wanne see a rock crawling escalade
Rock crawling escalade
what are the wheels
The wheels are just some cheaper ones off of amazon
the price of axles have gone up, man, im not sure i can afford this right now
Lol,,,3,2,1...pooofff . Darn that road runner.
How TO Build
Terminology does matter, but what doesn't matter is if you're right or wrong with the term, just choose one and stick with it, it's too annoying when you mention all the available terminology for every little thing.
Hell yea!!!! Build time! Throwing mine together right now also 🫵💪
That's what I like to hear!!!
