    Hey Waffles! TY for the great video once again, hey a trick I use on those pins on either axles or driveshafts is, you cut a small piece of heat shrink tubing, slide it over the drivesshaft end to where you can tighten the set screw or slide the pin in, then you slide the heatshrink back over the pin and apply heat, I like to use the marine tubing, then you can just slice it off if you ever have to get it back off!

      @WafflesRC-pb4nt Anytime, I got the marine heatshrink at HarborFreight. The Marine tubing won't move on you like the reg. Heatshrink does, it's got a sealant on the inside that helps it stay in place better.

    Hey Waffles! This is exactly the video I was looking for. My first project ever was a Traxxas Revo 3.3 electric conversion, using a bunch of different parts I pieced together. With a lot of trial and error, I finally got it almost perfect for ripping up the sand and gravel out here. I want to learn how to build a crawler from scratch. I'm so glad I found your video on how to do this. You are so awesome about "build your own style". You are calm and thorough on your explanations. I appreciate that. I want to build a four wheel steer. I can't wait to see your rock crawling Escalade!

    I like this video very well done. I personally have built my fare share of kits and so forth. I personally enjoy them complete then love to severely cut section pinch what ever the bodies build my own bumpers stingers sliders etc. I built my own rod bender and enjoy using my employers tig welder.
    I’ve don’t a c-notched axial wroncho using my flux core 110 HF welder. Was a little messy but if controlled right works well. You have been motivating me to do this on my channel since I haven’t made a video in idk 6months or more. I’m busy with home life sobriety classes and have had so many of these things it’s ah yeah cool ya know. I prefer to drive them but that’s my perspective. My garage is almost completed and would like to start doing this again. I just month ago bent up some sliders for my TFL bronco out of .032 t6061 scrap aluminum here at work they work great protecting the fiberglass body.
    I super have enjoyed your videos and your personality I’m idk 35-50% through all of them since started watching beginning or last week. Thank you again for your entertainment and originality.

    thanks for sharing your build. 21:37 when the front is fully compressed there is still a big gap between top of front axle diff cover and bottom of motor transmission. That motor placement results in high CG. Can you mod it to lower the motor position?

    • @WafflesRC-pb4nt

      The axles on my 4WS are AR60 knock offs but I did find a kit for those to convert the back axle. I don't see anything wrong with doing another front axle personally. • @WafflesRC-pb4nt
      @WafflesRC-pb4nt  7 місяців тому

      The KV rating is the speed the motor spins. So the higher the KV number, the faster the motor spins at full throttle. Only other thing to look for is the battery rating and type you want to use. I primarily use 3s lipo batteries but those I believe can do 2s or 3s

    For your adjustable suspension ("that's gunna be a Cadillac Escalade"), wouldn't you need to do some crazy esc/ecm/receiver coding? Honestly I dont see a point in them for me personally at that price. Now if you are dedicated to doing comps, I do see the benefits of them. I feel that it all comes down to what you want to do with it. I like to make mine very robust because I put mine though alot that the comp style rigs wouldn't like. At the end of the day it all comes down to each person's budget and what they want to do with them.

    rock crawling catty. Nice job walking people trough that. I'm at a point that aftermarket bodies kinda let me down. not many mopar options so I'm 3d printing my bodies now and slowly getting rid of my lexan bodies. Next one to go is my axial unimog since there isn't parts support for it now. Don't tell anyone but I'm doing a 1990 dodge ram crew cab dually. It will need a built frame the wheelbase is like 17+ inches. probably take the path of the 1972 power wagon I just did frame wise. And I'm definitely agree build it for you not what everyone likes and buy the parts you like. Reefs servos are great but my 20 dollar amazon one out lasted one of the reefs I got.

      I won't tell anyone about that dodge ram but I will ask..... how much to make me one as well?!?! That sounds like it will be a really fun build!!

      @@WafflesRC-pb4nt Off the top of my head I'm not sure I've been recycling parts. Axels is where it adds up fast because of the brass to get the weight low. Probably guess 500 give or take.
