This is my FAVORITE thing about you man you look at the stuff ppl like sbg and Harley designs won't. As much as I enjoy both of them and what they do but not everyone can afford to drop crazy Money on vanquish or other expensive parts. For a good Many of us the cheap stuff like this is the only way we can get in to the hobby. Keep up the good work man!
Those two are nice and entertaining but on the elitist side. How if a brand other than they support are suddenly unworkable and has too much screws but if its a brand they preferred, has all the explanation for its flaws.
@@RonBernardino I'm new to RC and see a TON of similarities between RC UA-cam and Motorcycle journalists. They refuse to say anything meaningfully critical about any of the brands that feed them early access or free parts / promotions. I get it, it just sucks to see. It's important for viewers to be informed of the good AND the bad. It's also irresponsible not to comment on price vs value competition.
I have the same chassis….super smooth and quiet….I’d get a 35t or more if you want to have more precise crawling ability …but that’s what I use mine for is to just beat around some!
The planetary setup looks exactly like the inside of a cheap 2 speed drill. I know it seems like those pins would be a weak point, but just think about how hard a drill gets abused.....even with the cheap ones, they don't seem to destroy themselves..... Outrunner hooked to it might be interesting.
I like mine alot. Low profile battery is a must for the Hardbody. And I fit a Fusion 1200 SE. For that I put the Transmission 4mm backwards with spacers at the 2 screw mount. It's performs very well. And with desert lizards I have a very nice articulation. Some weights in the wheels are needed.
I have this with same motor and esc. I did vanquish under drive gears on both axles I had laying around and then overdrived the transfer case it slowed it down enough it actually crawls not bad for what it is.
I have one of these chassis. Paired with a straight axle conversion kit from axial. Built a Jeep hard body on it, not much performance expected. It’s held up OK under brushed motor loads. Heavy AF. Have a TRX clone also, came with axles, hard Comanche body. Also has held up. Their junk but usable for trailing. Using the smallest super scale wheel/tire helps
Not just you. I had to do the same. Basically everything you went through, I did also. I set the endpoints for the shift but for some reason it stripped out quick. I’m going to try an aluminum horn.
Thanks for the review, it was very helpful. I like this truck and I wish there was a kit or something that would allow you to just install a basic SCX10ii transmission. The 2-speed setup it comes with seems like a bit of a white elephant because you can't gear it down. I like how the pumpkin on the front axle is offset to one side.
Underdrive gear set in front and rear axle. 33t 8t would slow it down a little. Axles have ar44 gears in them plus the class 1 tires will slow it down too
I just did one of these chassis. With a ford half body and a hood that pops open with a servo on the 3'rd channel. The steering servo goes in from the bottom not bolted on to the top . Check out my build I used a sound box I posted a video a couple of days ago on how to do the hood 👍 I used a tamiya super stock RZ tuned motor in mine .that cheap ass motor u used isn't gonna last long. Check out the wheels I used I think it's one of the baddest trail trucks I ever built. Good video 👍
Believe it or not I bought the Injora 550 can five slot 35 turn in my TRX four and it feels just as good as a homes hobby sport. Maybe injora has a high turn five slot 540 can you can look into. I’ve tried the reedy 16t 5slot 540 motor it feels like a 3slot don’t like them. Cool rig also see if the under drive ar45 ring and pinion will fit. Not sure what’s in there now but doubt their ratio is a 4 to 1 and up. Just looked injora has a 11t, 19t, 28t, and 33t.
Would it possibly gear it down at the wheels, if you run the drive shaft from the gearbox to the overdrive shaft on the transfer case ? I might talking out my arse but just thought. 😂
With mine I started out with a 20 turn motor, I've went to a 45t, thinking about using a 65t. I do have some huge 2.2 ag tires on it. Good luck with yours.
I was thinking it was going to be a bit fast when you said the motor was a 16T in the last video?, but sometimes inside tests seem faster than outside? If someone asked me, I’d say 19-21T is perfect for a crawler (with an average pinion.)? Nice one Joe! She is supper quiet! 👌👍
Try a 35t motor. That will make it feel like much lower gearing. You may also be able to rearrange the gears in the transfer case in order to underdrive the rear end, like you were saying, instead of over driving the front 😎🤙🏽
I am sure you figured it out by now, or whole thing is probably scrapped but maybe it helps someone else, your shaft coming from the motor is connected to the middle (speed gear) on the transfer case, you want to use the other one for slower movement.
I’m using this chassis for a trophy truck build, I want to do a spektrum 2200kv brushless motor and ESC. The motor output shaft is 5mm though, and a 10t 5mm bore pinion is still too big to fit between the planetary gears. Should I bite the bullet and get a different motor/esc?
A 20t 540 Sport would've been better or better yet....like you said, a Revolver and one of his Mini Crawlmaster esc's. But it's always a crap-shoot with those types transmissions on motor choices. Tamiya CR01 has the strongest planetary transmission. 15+ years ago I had on with a Novak Goat that I BEC'd to run on 3s. With two wraps of led on the front 2.2s and one wrap on the rear. It survived constant hard use nearly everyday for several years, including comps. As for the Ijora rig...its not terribly bad by any means from what you're showing us. The electronics and battery placement sucks. Put the electronics on one side and a battery on the other slider , it'll crawl with much more costly rigs. Oh, what is the ring & pinion? Are they 10.2s?
Hi, I think you can fit the Hobbywing fusion SE 1200kv motor onto this, if you roatate the servo mount and file a bit from it. I guess using that and running it on 2S might be a perfect combo. However, as a novice in this topic - how do you mount a body? I was looking at the Injora SCX hardbodies. I do not know how would you fit that on this chassis. Also I guess a front bumper will be needed? On top of that, I'd like to also mount the wheel fenders, is that also possible ? Thanks in advance.
hi watching you build , i have just ordered this chassis for a fun build . question those planetary gears do you think it would be possible to bore out the center and press in some ball races ?
I don't see why you couldn't do the math and change pinion sizes, if you were to change pinion size smaller and the planetary gears bigger I think you'd be golden
What about cutting doen some pinion gears and drill them out to fit the little nipples in the planitary then go with bigger sun gears and a smaller pinion. I like a challenge lol thats what id try so at very least umyou could change gear ratios just a thought Joe
The portal axles from the China trx4 are only $60 on Ali, would gear it down nicely.. because of your torture test videos on the clone I ordered a couple sets of those axles for my kids rigs 😂 Thanks for what you do Joe!
Living in the middle of nowhere is great but there is no one to try new stuff out! Thanks man!
I like how quiet it is. Nice trail rig. Looking forward to a v2 or v3. Get all the details fine tuned.
This is my FAVORITE thing about you man you look at the stuff ppl like sbg and Harley designs won't. As much as I enjoy both of them and what they do but not everyone can afford to drop crazy

The injora axle ring & pinion are geared high! What's nice is all axial ten two brass ends fit perfect though.
The planetary setup looks exactly like the inside of a cheap 2 speed drill. I know it seems like those pins would be a weak point, but just think about how hard a drill gets abused.....even with the cheap ones, they don't seem to destroy themselves.....

Thank you for reviewing these oddball Chinese kits
I have this with same motor and esc.
I did vanquish under drive gears on both axles I had laying around and then overdrived the transfer case it slowed it down enough it actually crawls not bad for what it is.
Heck ya. Rock on💪

Had the same issue with putting a holmes motor in an injora transmission. Also had to cut the end of the shaft off. Excellent videos!!
Cool so it wasn’t just me on this.
or put the injora motor that fits in it . upgrade from bushings to bearings for 50 cents and have a better motor ......
Not just you. I had to do the same. Basically everything you went through, I did also. I set the endpoints for the shift but for some reason it stripped out quick. I’m going to try an aluminum horn.
came here to say this, did the same thing
Thanks for the review, it was very helpful. I like this truck and I wish there was a kit or something that would allow you to just install a basic SCX10ii transmission. Also, under drive gears in the axles.
I'm actually impressed. I might would even put a slower motor in it. It would make it crawl better plus be easier on the planetary gears
I know you said you were'nt looking to go to crazy with this one but i put portal axels on mine and that should gear it down a little more.
I thought my cross Rc demon was quite! That’s actually pretty smooth!👍😁😎✌️
Love these Retirement Videos
You could gear it down with portal axles
I might have to look into this chassis. It seems well-built.
Hey bro you should try the Single speed is a 8 to 1 gear reduction and works really well running one now in my 6 scale willies and it's Metal
Did Chassis come from Inzora? The noise is low and the expectation is high.👍👍👍
Larry the lizzard approves. Fusion se 1200 with SOA.
I love injora’s parts. But on there trans I kept having problems with motor over heating. I was running a 1080 and 16t motor.
Underdrive gear set in front and rear axle. 33t 8t would slow it down a little. Axles have ar44 gears in them plus the class 1 tires will slow it down too
What about putting portal axels on, aren.t they geared down?
I think those axles you can put the underdrive gears from vanquish in them

You need a RhinoEsc and 9imond 1400kv 3542 outrunner in this build 👌😃

That’s an interesting thought. May have to see if I can do that.
I agree!
With mine I started out with a 20 turn motor, I've went to a 45t, thinking about using a 65t. I do have some huge 2.2 ag tires on it. Good luck with yours.
Looks like injora is on their way.
It’s injorin time! Can’t wait to see this fully decked out I wonder if performance will change with the hardbody on 🎉
1. you can swap the shaft from gear box to transfer case.
2. adding portal axle
3. there are gear reducer for this type of gearbox
I'm impressed by the chassis so far.
Can you put front drive shaft on the outer gear and reverse motor rotation to see if it is a slower gear range??
That park though!
I hope you will ride this injora with trx4 , element rc, axial scx10 II/3/4
I feel like a hw fusion se 1200kv would be a good choice for this chassis
I was thinking it was going to be a bit fast when you said the motor was a 16T in the last video?, but sometimes inside tests seem faster than outside? If someone asked me, I’d say 19-21T is perfect for a crawler (with an average pinion.)? Nice one Joe! She is supper quiet! 👌👍
I wonder if the axles use scx10 ii style ring and pinion? If so, you could throw some underdrive gearsets in front and rear to slow it down a hair
Not bad Joe. Looked fast but pretty agile on the rocks
That needs a 30 or 35 turn motor, or maybe a 1000kv-ish outrunner and an AM32 ESC.
Looking good 👍🏾
Would you not be able to adjust throttle control/low down drive with the 1080 or controller settings 🤔 looks a decent bit of kit for trailing 👊🏼🤙🏼🇬🇧💨💨
Great video. Do you use the udder butter for the Kraton and Xmax gears also?
I ran a fusion 1800kv without any issues for a year Straight
Throw a 1200kv fusion in it. Maybe itll actually be good low down
Smaller tires would help too
Try a 35t motor. That will make it feel like much lower gearing. You may also be able to rearrange the gears in the transfer case in order to underdrive the rear end, like you were saying, instead of over driving the front 😎🤙🏽
yep fair priced stuff A+
I use that butter on my reels
How about a slower motor like 55t😊
The tires above your head to your right with the rubber spikes, what are they? Thanks!
Where did you get the wheels and tyres
I am sure you figured it out by now, or whole thing is probably scrapped but maybe it helps someone else, your shaft coming from the motor is connected to the middle (speed gear) on the transfer case, you want to use the other one for slower movement.
What pitch is the pinion gear? The motor gear
Hey Joe, what thumb steer are you using for your flysky gt5?
You could try swapping to the clone axles...
For what it is its cool. If its geared too fast why not put in a higher turn motor. I know rc4wd makes 55 65 and 85 turn motors.

Definitely on my want list
Big like❤
65 turn brushed motor would settle it down 😅
Can you under drive the axles, kind of how people over drive their front, just under drive both?
👍😁
Could you change the diff gears?
How do you set the pinion depth on these? I just got one and can’t figure
It out because you can’t see anything
Drive it to a standard 3 gear in place of the transfer case. Might slow you down
Problem with that is one axel turns one way and the other turns the other way if you look at the unboxing video lol
hi watching you build , i have just ordered this chassis for a fun build . question those planetary gears do you think it would be possible to bore out the center and press in some ball races ?
I think you should machine or cnc a new orbit gear
The clones seem to be better than the actual trucks
hi mate, how do you make the rear axle counter rotation?
What kind of links ? And where can I get a set
I don't see why you couldn't do the math and change pinion sizes, if you were to change pinion size smaller and the planetary gears bigger I think you'd be golden

because of your torture test videos on the clone I ordered a couple sets of those axles for my kids rigs 😂
Thanks for what you do Joe!
Deeeooowwwnnnn
I don’t waste my time or money on injora stuff
ua-cam.com/video/SdexfZy6HIM/v-deo.html here's the link to my how to video 👍
