  • Today the iconic Picasso has overshadowed the young Pablo, this little Catalan immigrant who arrived, full of ambition, in the shining Paris of 1900. However, this bohemian artist will turn the realm of painting upside down in a few years, with his masterpiece Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, painted in 1907 when he was barely 25-year-old. These years of youth tell the story of a gifted painter. On the butte of Montmartre, Pablo's life is intense : his first love story with Fernande, the beginning of a big artistic rivalry with Henri Matisse, and most of all the invention of the modern painting.

Never have, and still don't see the "genius" of Picasso. But to each their own.

It's about individual perception. Every point of view is valid. I'm glad he was able to make a lucrative living as an artist, which is more than rare.

I also love the way you present just the speakers' heads. Did it ever occur to you to show the speaker's torso as well? Maybe I don't want to be six inches from a speaker's acne?

How can you move the camera over the pigeons Picasso painted? Hold the camera still so that the viewer can see the pigeons.

I love the way you pan the camera over the photo of Picasso's college drawing class, so that the viewer cannot see the photo. Did it ever occur to you to just show the photo, with the camera still, so that the viewer could see the photo?

Why would we need to SEE a work of art to know how great it is?

Who do you think you are? Do you think you have the right to deface a work of art?

And then, to compound your crime, you MOVE the camera over the canvas. Disgraceful!

First, you hold the camera very close to the canvases, which is monumentally stupid. Then, to make the viewer's experience even worse, you MOVE the camera over the canvas, making it impossible for the viewer to see anything. Did it ever occur to your oh-so-skillful-mind to photograph a whole canvas, and hold the camera still so that the viewer can look at the canvas? Understand, we're watching this movie because we're interested in the art form of painting, not because we cant to see the art form of film making. You think it's about you, but it's not.

The way you show Picasso's painting that he presented in college is just butchery. You cut the painting into pieces, cutting out parts of it. That is just pure butchery. Picasso painted that painting with the intent that the entire painting would be seen. You have no right to do that. It's a crime.. It's vandalism.
