Great video tutorials, Karen, thank you so much ! No need to apologise for repeating instructions and explanations ... that is exactly what us newbies need !!! Repetition is important. That is why this video is so helpful and one of my absolute favourites . Thank you !! 🤗🤗
Girl, just stop it! I can’t believe these papers. I can’t even get through all the painty papers I have right now and here you are tempting me with all this grungy deliciousness! 😵💫
I love how fast you are, instead of waiting and waiting on other people. I'm very happy to have found you, you are so talented. Thank you and God Bless.
Watching someone else do gelli printing is almost as addictive as doing it myself!🤣 I love this idea of using the black paint first. I haven’t seen that before so I’ll have to give that a try. TFS
Karen, this is a fabulous video. Simple techniques with outstanding results. I love the stencils and your color choices. I’ve watched it twice and I will probably watch it again. Thanks and Hugs ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much Karen, I really really enjoyed watching you creating all these amazing and stunning grungy print’s, I really really love ❤️ each and every one of them. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Hello Karen. I love all the prints you pulled !! Especially the last one with adding more black to the gel plate. Now you are enabling me to go purchase another gel plate 🙃😊
Hi Karen, your video has been such a help to me. I’m new to Gelli printing and love it. Your information and keep repeating what you are doing has been so beneficial to me. I have now got it. Thank you. I enjoyed watching your tutorial . X
Had my eye on several of these stencils so i was thrilled to come across this video. I feel much more confident in my choices waiting for me in my cart
Karen, I absolutely loved this tutorial! I loved all the grungey goodness going on, I can't wait to sit down and have a play of my own! Thank you, Marylou from Edmonton
Love your methods and instruction !! I have never seen this method. I've found copy paper resists the paint on gel plates and have moved to rice paper for better absorption of the paint. I wandered through your channel for 3 hours today and thank you !
Thank you. Interesting about copy paper....every one is different. I do have some rice paper and should dig it out and use it next gel print session. I love using tissue paper too , but that does get tricky as the tissue gets wet and weak. K
Thank you for your kind words. I really like this technique and the results....I'd like to play around with different stencils and colors and see what comes of it...so many options...so little time. K
Just watched this, and another idea is to pull everything off with clear matte medium, rather than white/buff paint. And patience is required, allowing a good few minutes before pulling.
Gorgeous! I’d frame them all! Thanks for the inspiration! I have a couple of gel presses and I sometimes get stuck for colour combinations but I have some great ones now. Thank you xx
Hi Karen I'm love this technique, thank you for sharing with us ! I will probably give it a try this week-end !!! and I can't tell you which pull I prefer, I love all of them !! have a nice week-end !!
I really like how you've done this video. Very interesting techniques. Thank you for sharing ❤ Oh! And I like your stencils too! Especially Rainbow Branch Circle ⭕😊
Hard to pick a favourite. Lovely job. I wonder if you could pull off the stencil once you take off the black in the open parts and let it dry, the. Add the colors, let it dry and then add the white for the pull? Would the black lift when you added the colours?
These are fantastic! If I have any suggestion, it would be to show each result longer so we can can get a better look at it after watching the whole process. Most of the beautiful final prints are only visible for less than two seconds. thanks so much!
I don't know If you are watching on an ipad or computer screen.... but on my ipad, if I press pause on the screen, I can look at it for much longer. Also... if you take a screen shot, you will be able to keep it in your photo library to be able to refer to it whenever you fancy !! 🤗🤗
Karen if you don't mind my asking where did you get your tiny brayer that I'm seeing you using , I can't find one that small ? Your friend from Corpus Christi Texas .
I got the brayer from Ninnys Napkins....there's a link and coupon code in the description box...it's the Ranger 2 1/2 inch one...I recently got another that size and one that is 3 inches as well as my speedball 4 inch one. I do not recommend the gel press brayers ( mine is way more difficult to clean AND squeaks)
I’m just a beginner ut you are so inspiring! I was looking at the stencils you were using and saw Stencil Butter on the website. Can you use this instead of/in addition to acrylic paint? I love the shimmer of them.. Thanks so much!
I love the pearlization of the stencil butters too. You can use them in a multitude of ways....like modeling paste , like acrylic paint, brayer it on , use on gel plate ...I have a video or two showcasing ways if you want to check it out. They work beautifully with acrylic paint...you can even add acrylic paint to them to change the color/tone.
Hi...love the video thank you...what is the difference in gel plate and using gelli plate and do you have to use a extra liquid to help flow the paint..thank you
I use liquitex basics paint primarily...no I don't add extra liquid.... There are two basic brands of gel plates....Gelli Arts and Gel Press...I have both and they are pretty much interchangeable. Get which ever is the better deal. K

The black layer is done to get the grungy look or effect. If that’s not a look you want then it serves no purpose. I have many other gel printing videos including a series of 5 for beginners that you may find useful. They are all in the gel printing playlist.
The two places links are in in the top right hand corner - you should see an i or will if you hover over it. OR at the end of the video. Alternatively when in my channel...there is a search bar ( not the one at the top) it's down a bit and when you search it only searches my videos. K
I’m very new to gel printing. I understand using the smaller gel pad to Brayer on your ink but do you ever clean it. Also can you keep some soap and water in a container to put your stencils in. The inks I use in my cards don’t dry as fast as Acrylic so I’m getting use to that. If you have a video that would maybe answer some of those questions. So far I’ve don’t a two pull with Success but I think I’m too slow for now to do more. Right now I’m using my daughters acrylics that she gave me until I master the technique a little more before investing in more paint.
Yes keep water tub at hand to toss stencils in. OR wash them all right after...soak in Murphy's oil soap . or toss in dishwasher tablet....makes clean up soooooooooooo easy. Check out playlist called Gel printing....you will find everything you look for....Each acrylic paint will react a bit different on gel plate...not right or wrong just different...you have to play and see what it does....add more/add less....K
Great video tutorials, Karen, thank you so much !

Sometimes it helps to see a stencil being used. K
Hi, thanks for the video. I used tissue paper to lift off the black paint and used that in collages as well.

If all you have is heavy bodied paint, should you mix it with a medium to loosen it up?
I've seen people do that.....I have never done that....with each different type of paint you have to adjust...play with it and see what works best. K
Como se llama esta técnica, y que papel se ocupa
Esta es una forma de conseguir papel de collage sucio. Usas el papel de collage cuando creas arte... como fondo o como parte de la composición.
I probably was dozing when you explained - but when you have all the color down, do you let it all dry before you put on the final solid layer before the pull?
Yes..put color down , lift stencil...cover with paint and pull
What caused the paper to stick to the gelli plate?
hmmm not sure...sometimes it just does...sometimes it may be user error...too much paint/ left on too long....
