    Will that 5"X 7" gelli plate clean up after all of this rolling paint out on it?

    • @KarenBurchill
      @KarenBurchill  Рік тому

      I periodically stop and clean it if necessary...but yes the cleanup is easy..Usually I put a coat of paint on top...and then place a paper on top...rub...let dry and pull up...most of paint comes off in the clean up pull. Alternatively I spray with water and wipe off. I've even seen people wash in water in sink. no worries. K

    Would it help to put the black on, then the stencil, lift off the excess through the stencil, then, lift off the stencil and dry the black before applying the other colors? Then, proceed as usual.

    If all you have is heavy bodied paint, should you mix it with a medium to loosen it up?

    • @KarenBurchill
      @KarenBurchill  Рік тому

      I've seen people do that.....I have never done that....with each different type of paint you have to adjust...play with it and see what works best. K

      Esta es una forma de conseguir papel de collage sucio. Usas el papel de collage cuando creas arte... como fondo o como parte de la composición.

    I probably was dozing when you explained - but when you have all the color down, do you let it all dry before you put on the final solid layer before the pull?

    • @KarenBurchill
      @KarenBurchill  2 роки тому

      Yes..put color down , lift stencil...cover with paint and pull

      hmmm not sure...sometimes it just does...sometimes it may be user error...too much paint/ left on too long....

    Hi Karen just curious how long does it take to dry

    • @KarenBurchill
      @KarenBurchill  2 роки тому +1

      That varies depending on type of paint, how much paint etc....even temperature....you just have to experiment with what you have and adjust to get the results. K

    A newbie here. Just curious what is the point of putting the black paint down and remove it?

    • @KarenBurchill
      @KarenBurchill  10 місяців тому

      The black layer is done to get the grungy look or effect. If that’s not a look you want then it serves no purpose. I have many other gel printing videos including a series of 5 for beginners that you may find useful. They are all in the gel printing playlist.

      The two places links are in in the top right hand corner - you should see an i or will if you hover over it. OR at the end of the video. Alternatively when in my channel...there is a search bar ( not the one at the top) it's down a bit and when you search it only searches my videos. K

    I’m very new to gel printing. I understand using the smaller gel pad to Brayer on your ink but do you ever clean it. Also can you keep some soap and water in a container to put your stencils in. The inks I use in my cards don’t dry as fast as Acrylic so I’m getting use to that. If you have a video that would maybe answer some of those questions. So far I’ve don’t a two pull with Success but I think I’m too slow for now to do more. Right now I’m using my daughters acrylics that she gave me until I master the technique a little more before investing in more paint.

      Yes keep water tub at hand to toss stencils in. OR wash them all right after...soak in Murphy's oil soap . or toss in dishwasher tablet....makes clean up soooooooooooo easy. Check out playlist called Gel printing....you will find everything you look for....Each acrylic paint will react a bit different on gel plate...not right or wrong just different...you have to play and see what it does....add more/add less....K
