    • @VikkiReed
      @VikkiReed  3 місяці тому

      Hello Kristine! I'm so happy you're enjoying the videos and thank you for your question! Yes, you can use stamps, it is a bit tricky, and you must remember to do it backward, that is, put your word on the plate in reverse, so that when you pull the print it will read the way you wish it to read! A bit of self promotion here, I do have a stencil set of words, here's the link, vikkireed.com/buy-acrylic-paintings/ols/products/word-stencil-mask-set and of course, those need to be put on the plate backwards as well.

      Heather, I want to answer your question but I don't remember using clear paint, and I watched the video and still didn't see where I used clear paint. I use fluid acrylics for the most part, some of them are very transparent. If you are purchasing a Golden Fluid Acrylic there is a little dash of the color over some black marks on the front of the bottle which show the transparency. I hope that is what you were wanting to know! Thank you

    Recently became interested in this type of art. I consider myself lucky that I found you today. You have already taught me so much in just two videos. What I am wondering about is you have some stark jagged white patches when you pull the print off. I'm wondering if there's a way that you can pull it off more gently or systematically so that you don't get those stark sharp white patches on your print. Also, sometimes on your print I see a line or two in the center. I wonder if those lines came from your brayer perhaps.

    • @VikkiReed
      @VikkiReed  2 роки тому +1

      JoAnn thank you for your questions! Yes, sometimes there are white patches on the print due to various factors, a newer plate will have that more often, the moisture level of the paint and plate affects things and yes, the brayer can leave lines. The nature of the gelli plate is that it is hard to "control", and that equally is part of the magic! I hope you have as much fun as I've been having! Happy creating!

    • @VikkiReed
      @VikkiReed  Рік тому +1

      Hi Michelle, thank you for your question! The Tyvek I am using is from repurposed USPS (Priority Mail) envelopes, it is very thin and durable which makes it ideal for gelli printing. I've tried purchasing the commercially available Tyvek, but it is thicker and more difficult to work with. If you can't find Tyvek, manila folders that you can cut into shapes is the next best option, I hope that helps!
