- A Michigan woman is in custody after “evil spirits” allegedly made her do disturbing things to her 8-year-old daughter, leaving her dead on March 16. Wayne County authorities said 30-year-old Chelsea Renee Duperon initially told police her daughter, Lyla Cassel, fell down the stairs. When officers arrived, they weren’t buying her story. Law&Crime’s Sierra Gillespie breaks down the horrifying tragedy that unfolded in Duperon’s home.

This case is local to me. She’s in our district. Shares a birthday with my daughter. My mom is friends with her teacher. We’re all devastated. Any of us moms in the district would’ve happily taken Lyla if her mom needed a break. No questions.

I'm convinced this is because this mom saw her GORGEOUS daughter growing up and becoming more beautiful by the day, while she had started to age (trust me 30 years old is YOUNG but its at a point in life where some people start to feel 'older'). She felt a jealous rage. Whenever I see these cases, it's so hard to ignore the fact that we have a mom who is conceited and obsessed with self image, while the daughter is very clearly a natural stunner.

When I decided to let it all go it felt so freeing!! But even when I was on social media I NEVER posted my children! I've always been against that.

This makes sense to me. Possibly as people stopped commenting so much towards mom and started commenting more on her beautiful little girl mom became angry and jealous. Possibly her anger built up and she finally took it out on her sweet daughter. I was the only girl with 3 brothers and I grew up with a mom who was jealous of me as well as most females.

Lyla's dad had been trying to get custody, but the mother-favoring MI family courts kept him away after the mother made totally false DV claims against him. Yet again, a mother's lies keep the dad from being able to protect his own kid!

It happend to me:), I‘m helping kids from difficult social backgrounds because I got help after I was assaulted. At first I didn‘t get help, was ridiculed by police but a little later I found great ppl who helped me and that did a lot to me!! Now that I‘m better and know how to help others, I‘m doing so!

He was fighting for custody, but thanks to your mother-favoring family courts Dad had no access to her after the mother made false DV claims against him with NO evidence. Thanks to women's privileged legal status under the law the dad, a child's natural protector, had been denied access to his own little girl--which is a big part of why she suffered abuse.

Why hasn't the boyfriend been arrested? He knew about it. Neighbors say they had called cps prior to this.
Note that the BF was NOT Lyla's dad, the mother falsely accused the dad of DV to keep him away and with no evidence the mother-favoring MI family courts kept the dad from saving his own child.

She plead "not guilty?" Boy, is she in for a rude awakening. Now she has to go to trial. And with all the evidence against her, she will be getting a MUCH heftier sentence than if she pleaded guilty.

Whenever I see kids posing, looking overly happy in pictures, I'm suspicious because I've met these narcissistic mom's who present picture perfect lives of themselves and their children and the kids are abused. Or the kids are just objects for them. It's so utterly sad. I wish there were ways to check into the actual situation and lives.

Sometimes i catch myself looking at people a certain way and idk why but something about them is just off... like this lady. Trying to hard to seem happy or normal. A certain fake smile ive started recognizing over the years. Idk something behind her face is just.... ugh.... that poor little girl.

Poor little girl - imagine the fear she experienced let alone the pain. I also feel for the police and first responders. An appalling thing to see and deal with.
I worked with Chelsea at my very first job. This is beyond horrific and i will be following this story to see what happens. Soo terrible.
