Thanks for your video, I got some of these for xmas yesterday and me being the knucklehead I am, was looking through them the wrong way, lol I was wondering why the damn things were not working right!
You've got the two sides mixed up. User's left side, with the lens reducer cap and focus adjustment, is the lens. The cap with small hole reduces incoming light in daylight so as not to overpower the camera inside. The user's right side, no cap, is the IR illuminator.

You said that the infrared illuminator light is not visible to your body that you are looking at.
Question = Is the infrared illuminator light visible or not visible to, let's say if there were a prowler on your property, or in your yard or messing around and trying to get into your shop or garage?? Can you be completely stealthy while using them to view your property for intruders?? Thank you in advance if you take the time to answer and explain. Also where can you get an infrared illuminator light that isn't visible for extra distance, and could you use as an increase in night viewing with these and could you possibly use something like that with the camera on your phone to view into the night?? Yes, You can use this without being detected at all.
No. Not sure what this guy is thinking with his answer. Im sure he means well, but the simple truth is that at this wavelength the LEDs will glow bright red to anyone looking in your direction. These are 850nm IR LEDs, which are pretty visible. Even on the higher end, longer length 940nm lights, you can still see point light sources, albeit with a bit of difficulty. If you want something that won't break 1k, that you will allow you to observe passively without detection, look into thermal imaging. Dont but FLIR, its overpriced and underpreforming for where the market is at now. Look into the LC06.

I'm late, but Im going to respond just for anyone wondering this in the future. The answer is yes. Its digital night vision, it has almost zero passive capability and relies on using infared flood lights. Its basically a more compact gen 0 night vision device, but with latency. It uses 840nm IR, which dips a good amount into the visible spectrum, so you will not be hidden from anyone looking in your direction. You will look like a cherry red spot in the dark.
