Not only is this an extremely hard song to cover/interoperate, this is probably the closest to exact covers I've seen. Mad respect my guy, you've got a strong future whether on YT or live shows
the slickness where you transitioned to the cowbell at 5:53 is just unreal, its almost like you enter a completely flow stage and stayed in the pocket for the rest of the cover. Honestly pretty mind blowing how well you flowed in the pocket.
Very well done my boy, your kit is tuned very well to this song. Great playing, you have done this song justice. One of my favorite albums of theirs by far. Thank you
Nicely done, dude. I love that you nailed that descending double to triplet to single roll on the snare in the middle of the track. I've seen people have a hard time with that one, but you did it flawlessly.
My young sir, will you ever beat the accomplishment of mastering this song to such an extent? It's going to be hard to beat! Amazingly played, I am in awe, don't ever stop ✌
Mad props. Before watching from the beginning I instantly checked the part that starts from 7:04, a few seconds were enough to hit like and subscribe. Actually a couple of weeks before I have watched some of the other drum covers of this song by searching but for some reason I didn't see this one. Today this video got recommended on my home page. Hope this helps to make it more visible.
Cover is stellar, I love it! The only suggestions I have is to lube up the foot pedal, because we can hear squeeking for example at 5:45 and you may want to look into how you sit on your drum throne - you seem to barely keep the balance, which is only making it more difficult to play than it needs to.
What the f?? This is so wicked and impressive, man. One of the best Tool drum covers I've ever seen. I love what you did with the cowbell/block and the roto toms, my arms would tire out SO fast playing sideways like that. Simply outstanding, I am blown away. 🖤
You're freaking ridiculous bro lol. Absolute joy watching these videos everyday. I love the deep breath at the beginning! I can see you thinking "...this is a long one..."
Nice set up man. That was super clean. And loved the long build up pattern you were playin . I think as you start creating your own style , that your channel will get way more views. Good shit
Absolutely stunning!! Such a great song and what a performance. Awesome from beginning to end. You should do some Meshuggah or Gojira next, saludos de México 🇲🇽
The amount of effort it is to be able to do the swiss triplet section with the kick pattern is ridiculous and you make it look so smooth and simple 😂 Been practicing this song hard the last few months and im getting very close, but its this section thats really messing me up haha, can do the swiss triplets, can do the bass and hi hat pattern along side the snare... but combining them seamlessly WITH variations in voicing/drums on each hand.... jesus. One day for certain, but ive loved learning this song on the drums, been such a fun and brain engaging journey so far! Love the videos, its great seeing such a talented hard working drummer that doesnt make everything overly flashy or edgy or whatever the f people are doing nowadays with videos, its so cringe. Stay safe.
Just wanna let you know that this was wonderful, no one covers Rosetta Stoned cause yk.......it's not easy, but here, you are, i thought i'd see you sweat through the shirt but you did well, keep up doing what you love
For the life of me I don't know how you do it... the swiss triplet massacre (that's how I call it) ... how do you practice that???? Awesome as always man!!! Just amazing!!!
this guy separates his right arm into 3 pads and that's right. Johnkew just two pads to the right of him. Johnkew is a good drummer but he is overrated.
I definitely put your cover under the microscope of my ears and all I can say is… Yess you absolutely nailed it. My favorite quality about your cover was that you really understood the placement of the cymbal voicing and stayed true to the original. A lot of people that cover Tool just hit cymbals willy nilly and it’s a big turn off for me but not this cover… 🔥🔥🔥
There was a boy named John Hill and he did play the tool songs perfectly but his channel no longer appears, I think it was deleted. By the way, this young man is very talented.
hey dude, good for you. i can tell by your body language and facial expressions that youre focusing like a MF to get it right and you def did....now, give it another couple months or a year depending on how good you are at practicing regularly and gonna marvel at how there was ever a time when this drum part wasn't second nature entirely. but to get there, you gotta spend plenty of tense and tight and thats the hard part and why music is first and foremost a discipline before it gets to be truly fun. youre gonna go far dude. practice your rudiments with you rfeet on the double bass! That's apparently how carey got so slick on the kicks it's very inspiring to watch you on the kit
I know this is controversial, but this is one of my least favorite Tool songs. However, I appreciate your drumming performance and there's no doubt the drums on this track are virtuosic and you sound great and did great.
7:04 your handling of this entire song, but especially beginning at this section, is extraordinary. Massive respect. Subscribed.
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
You covered it twice!!!!!!!! Once was brave, but twice????? Mad Lad!!
Not only is this an extremely hard song to cover/interoperate, this is probably the closest to exact covers I've seen. Mad respect my guy, you've got a strong future whether on YT or live shows
@7:15 Octopus dance mode engaged!
This dude has another level of standard. What an calm a composed performance wow
the slickness where you transitioned to the cowbell at 5:53 is just unreal, its almost like you enter a completely flow stage and stayed in the pocket for the rest of the cover. Honestly pretty mind blowing how well you flowed in the pocket.
Thank you! I really appreciate it man!

Roughly a year.
@@tyvisser damn man. Have you ever heard the song outlaw torn from Metallica’s load album? It has a killer beat.
Loving the tight drum tone. Just came across your channel, phenomenal playing!
Very well done my boy, your kit is tuned very well to this song. Great playing, you have done this song justice. One of my favorite albums of theirs by far. Thank you
Thanks so much, means a lot!

Have you gone mad!? Ha, that was a top-tier drum cover that you just nailed. You practically had tenticals playing the part. It was mesmerizing❤️🔥
Great work mate. Love it

Thanks for the feedback! I did hear the squeaking, and will work on fixing that.
What the f?? This is so wicked and impressive, man. One of the best Tool drum covers I've ever seen.

Wow.
'Like an apparition you had me crying out....'
@johnkew level, just need the panning camera.
Excellent work.

🤙
Fark yes
😮
At your age, I would consider myself cool, just for listening to this track…kudos!
Pls someone awnser my question do you learn all the hi hat parts 100% or do you sometimes just groove along to the song
sugoi
Has Johnkew approved this? haha
Haha
johnkew doesn't do things 100% the same. I'm a drummer and I analyze his covers a lot.
There was a boy named John Hill and he did play the tool songs perfectly but his channel no longer appears, I think it was deleted. By the way, this young man is very talented.
8:47
Just makes it look like childs play.
do triad plsss
How?

😧
🤯 wtf.
With that you just need to hit the gym and wear a baseball shirt
the toms are a liiitle lost in the mix, especiually the floor toms... otherwise this cover is fuckin amazing.
I know this is controversial, but this is one of my least favorite Tool songs. However, I appreciate your drumming performance and there's no doubt the drums on this track are virtuosic and you sound great and did great.
Fair enough, we all have different values in music. Thanks man, I appreciate it!
Bass drum's too loud. Can't hear the toms much.
Get some headphones bro sounds good to me
Nice !
