The first time I played the og game I thought the graphics were really high Quality. That thought stuck with me for years until I decided to play it again and realized they weren't that great after all. But yeah, at that time was other level
Well, top-notch for consoles perhaps - I was a PC guy back then, and if you're playing Half-Life in 1024x768 on a high-res monitor, Playstation graphics look rather clunky to you.
@@DowncastParadox I had my first computer in 2004. Before that I played on NES so maybe I am indeed used to console graphics at that time. Tho many PC games released even after this game didn't look as good as this.
I wish the remake had the licker cut scene like the original. I remember the cut scene looking up at the ceiling and seing the licker crawling forward with its tongue… so creepy.
Already 12 hours in and beat it with Leon last night. Favorite game of all time was in 1999 with RE 3. After 20 years that spot has been finally taken. This game is a literal masterpiece.
@@justinbrannon1978 It would be cool to have the original Resident Evil, starring Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, remade on the REengine. Having the whole trilogy in parallel to each other, with over the shoulder gameplay would make a lot of people happy. The game might be too short, because it is set in a Mansion. However, I don't see why wouldn't Capcom explore the whereabouts outside the Mansion and make the player explore peripheral grounds, plus additional walkthroughs for supporting characters such as Barry Burton, Brad Vickers or Albert Wesker. If many fans showed support, Im sure Capcom would respond to another Remake. The HD Remaster is outdated and does not conform with RE:2Remake and the upcoming RE:3Remake.
@@steak8278 Probably because I was already in my 30, but I remember I had immediately considered GTA series from III to Vice City Stories as bad graphics games at the time they were released and they really were (and are) indeed. Useless to say that there were many games with far better graphics and animations back then.
And its a little ridiculous when people say they remember it playing differently is because a ps4 controller is completely shaped different then a ps1 controller? Lol even if its the same buttons the ps1 controller was Tiny and just complete different feel to it lol.
Something not enough people point out, is just how good the ambient sounds are in the remake. They already did an amazing job at this in RE7. Every environment is full of amazingly creepy background sounds of creaking and rummishing.
Yes! I have turtle beaches and it makes it even better! You never know if so.ething is there and the creepy noises always keep you on your toes! I think this game is truly awesome!
This remake is a masterpiece. When i was a kid i never played the RE games because zombies scared me as a concept. Playing them now would only make me laugh, yet i have bought this remake knowing this will be 100 times scarier now than the old one could be at its time. It just looks so good, i know it will provide me some good, tense, and scary moment. A game like this 20 years ago would have sent me straight to therapy lol
This new one is scary in different ways than the originals. The technology makes it more immersive and frightening, but they've added a bunch of features that make it easier to progress through the game. A lot of the fear in the originals came from the punishing save system and backtracking. It was so much easier to get stuck and not know what to do. Granted, I was younger and dumber back then, but I love the way they made this new game more accessible. Re-Masterpiece indeed!
The only things they fucked up was the unnecessary exclusion of Ink Ribbons in normal mode, Moth, Crows, Naked Zombies, Evolved Lickers, Spiders and overly unnecessary modification of the original story. Let's be honest. this game is great, but it's not a masterpiece. This game has changed/deleted elements from the original more than it added. That's not even a Remake, it's a Reimagining. True Masterpiece is the Remake of the first RE.
@@david_contente I agree with u dude, RE (1) remake is a masterpiece, plus I don't think this one is scary, the real horror in the originals was that u, the player, were not able to change the angle of the camera, giving the scary feeling of not knowing what was going to be in the next corridor or room. Since RE4 over the shoulder camera, RE lost its scary feeling, completely. So, this game is 100 times less scarier than the original.
@@virusjerry You can't make games like that any more. Not being able to see what is directly in front of you is a cheap way to create fear. No immersion in that for me. The new ones have to take a more realistic approach to how someone who can see stuff would be scared. It's mostly just jump scares in the new one, but the game gets me all the time when I got the headphones cranked.
I NEVER saw Leon as redhead. He was always a brunette. I have never seen him as anything else. When I played RE2 in 1998, when I played RE4 in 2005ish, playing RE6 in 2012. I mean, maybe it was just my TV at the time, but I have never heard anyone I have talked with refer to him as a redhead. I have always seen him with brown hair. Sure, maybe VERY dark blonde, but never red. Anywho, doesn't really matter much I guess, but that just stopped me, lol.
10:06 Phil #1: Hey Phil, can you do a zombie noise for the game we're working on? Phil #2: yeah sure, uhhhhhhhhhh Phil #1: thanks Phil, that was perfect
The actual gameplay now looks like the cut scene's back then, i remember thinking I wish the whole game cud look as good as the cut scenes, well now they do👌
I would like to admit that Mr.X is so terrifying in RE2 remake . The words come out from my mouth "Jeez dude give me a break" whenever I encounter him.
Even though Mr x is cool and all , they shouldn't spoiled the mechanic of a monster following you , which is exactly what the nemesis is , if they plan on making a re 3 , which I'm kinda worried about , specially in terms of story, cuss to me personally re2 remake sucked in the story part.
We have kinda reached the peak. It's hard to go better from here. What will change is how AI behaves or the world building and what not. Graphics already seems photorealistic these days. Just check the UE 5.2 Demo.
The original RE2's soundtrack is so flawless that it's unbeatable when compared to the remake's soundtrack. However, the remake personally is a lot more scarier this time around. RE2's remake is by far the best most recent video game remake right now.
Kinda have to lol, if you get too close they begin to get agitated and may attack so you have to wait inside the room till it goes away. Either that or try killing it and God knows that's a living hell.
Playing the original on the 64 that I love and playing the remake. To me, it's a perfect reflection. Things had to be changed to fit into a living present reality we live in today. We really got to experience and get to know Marvin and a lot more of his advice than the original. The reality of a darkened police station because of a zombie apocalypse happening that really takes a toll on the station. The gore of the zombies and the detail put into them, really embracing how bodies begin to fall apart while they decay. The reality of the sewers and the disgusting remains growing throughout it because of the virus.....even the new creatures roaming around the sewers get my love. The alligator sequence, although I would have loved to shoot it, it sticks to this reality...something that huge will not be affected by small handgun or shotgun bullets....I loved it. The fights with the different forms of William Birkin were all there....with small changes...it still holds true to the original. What really made me shiver in fear is that Mr. X AKA Tyrant never stops following you until it kills you. I loved it all. Resident Evil 2 will always be one of my all time favorite games from the past....and now the remake being such a perfect and improved reflection of the original is on that list as well. ❤❤ Absolutely cannot wait if Resident Evil 3 gets a remake. ❤❤
This game is so awesome and scary! The original will always be near and dear to me but this is a new Capcom masterpiece 😎 The bar has definitely been lifted.
Actually, in the PS1 game he mentions it's his first day on the job. He doesn't mention whether he's on duty already or not, and given his reaction from seeing how things are at the station and in the city, you can assume he has yet to actually go on duty/clock in yet.
EDIT: Just for the record , I love the original resident evil games with the old controls and cameras , they are still masterpieces in their own regard. The reason Capcom didn't remaster this game in the original fashion is because they would turn away newer people to the series who enjoyed 4-6 but they also wanted to stay true to the original (which they did) regardless of how it plays. This is easily the best Resident Evil game i've played since 4 , honestly the people who are bitching about the original controls and graphics will never get over themselves and nothing will please them.
I do miss some elements that made original so dreadful and cinematic, but I'm not complaining about them since remake of my first ever resident evil game I played is badass as it is. Doesn't affect the game, but would been a nice touch here and there, like simple camera pan of RPD when you first enter it like from original.
@@hayleylfc7506 You can do the swap with the deluxe edition, but the era of RE games has CAPCOM utilizing tension as a base for its soundtracks. That's why it is different, in any event, I am loving the game so far and the dark element it has added makes the game far more scary, especially the lickers.
Interesting how technical limitations created that distinct charm for them. Resident Evil 0 and 1 remakes still are in that style, so I can't complain. I think games should take new directions and approaches from time to time.
People who say original looks better and is better game are people wearing nostalgic glasses. The remake beats the original in every single way except music. Remake - better controls , much better graphics, much better voice acting, more gore, more scary( original is not at all scary if you play it today) , way better / scary atmosphere, no loading screens while in-game, more detailed/graphic, better sound design Original - better music
I don't think anybody argues that the original looks better, but rather that they prefer the original gamplay. I was definitely disappointed by this "remake". A remake takes the original game concept and improves graphics and sound, and maybe add some scenarios that didn't make it into the original due to certain issues. A remake is about the devs knowing exactly WHY the original is still played and loved. Capcom missed the mark here IMO. RE1 Remake took the classic original, and made it into perfection, so much that it made the original obsolete. This is a complete re-imagining. Not the game I was waiting for at all. I played the demo, and felt .... nothing. Will be playing the full game, but I'll be waiting for this to appear in the bargain bin at my used-games store. Until then I guess I will keep playing the original. It may look like shit, but at least it's the real Resisdent Evil 2 that sold around 5 million copies on release. I'm curious to know how many of this sold, and also if it's still gonna be talked about 20 years later.
RE2 was an amazing game given the technology of the time (and budgets for voice acting). The RE2 Remake is an amazing game through the technology of our time (and advancements in the genre brought on by other properties).
Actually its not they took so much away from the original that made it great and made sense of the story the remake doesn't do anything great but gameplay and mr x
@@Kiddo_williams the remake is just fine. As someone who played original re games milion times, i am more than happy with this remake. What have they done that you dont like compared to original?
Not much in terms of graphics, because we already hit the "looks like real life" mark. At most, small improvements will be made, but that's it. What most likely will change is how "interactive" games will be, in terms of VR, 3D and such. Immersion so to speak.
Will Smith provided the voice for some of the Male zombies in RE2(1998) but like the other voice actors for the zombies, he was uncredited despite being paid.
these new ones continue to keep me shook. Even in certain locations i think they have specific new audio clips just to make sure you dont ever get comfortable to them.
Iconic, not good though. Or at least not better than those of the remake. I have to assume that people who say or think the original ones are better, have some seriously thick nostalgia glasses.
Nick930 I feel it was a good reference to the original, it also was the point when Leon was convinced to help get the g virus to save people like kendo’s daughter

Not gonna happen. Rockstar DOES NOT do remakes or remasters. What they produce stays in the past. If they did, you'd already have remakes of Max Payne 1 & 2, Manhunt 1 & 2, and GTA 1, 2 ,3 & San Andreas. Besides, Rockstar can't, the games are freaking huge, just look at how Square is taking it's time with FF7 Remake. It would takes Rockstar MANY YEARS to remake all of the older GTA games. The reason why Capcom can do remakes is because the games are freaking short... story wise.
@Death Enforcerer Rockstar haven't bothered giving 1 & 2 remastered releases. 1 & 2 need fan made HD mods for widescreen play. 3 does not need any, it's fine as it is.
@Death Enforcerer What rumours? GTA 6 will happen eventually, but with NEW characters and a NEW city location (previous ones probably making cameos). Just don't expect it anytime soon, because Rockstar takes longer and longer to produce new games. And again concerning it's older games, remake or remasters is not part of Rockstar's modus.
@Death Enforcerer That's a subjective issue. What's a great story for some, is kinda bad for others. GTA 5 wouldn't have netted Rockstar over $1 billion in sales and revenue if it's gameplay and story weren't halfway decent. Besides, they just scored another massive hit with Red Dead 2. I'm just wondering were they go next from there, since Rockstar is known for it's so secretive nature. Another Red Dead will have to feature new characters and new unrelated story, since Red Dead 2 was a prequel, while Red Dead 1 was set in 1915 (tail end of the old west). With all that massive revenues, it's a shame Rockstar can't spare some time to (at least) remaster some of their older games. Funny how Rockstar fanboys don't seem to take notice of that. Backwards console compatibility ain't the same as a remaster.
Back in the day, having played this game proved to the other kids in the school yard that you were tough AF because how scary the damn game is. Either you were playing this or Spyro - Crash Bandicoot. There was no in between.
As a life time hardcore fan of RE, I was sceptical when I first heard about the remake..The original three were and for me, still are some of the best games ever created..With that said, the RE2make was a perfect creation in every way..I was pleasantly surprised at how true to the original it was while also being able to argue it's is it's own game with so many subtle differences..So many in fact that it made a RE veteran like myself have to critically think and be genuinely scared for my life at times..This technically has surpassed the brilliance of the original but can also make a claim at surpassing the current level of video games..For me, this was the best PS4 game I have ever played and I only hope and pray that RE3 and maybe RE1 get this kind of treatment. Capcom, please remake the entire franchise in this image..Thank you..
He should've probably beaten the game (atleast scenario A) before doing this video. It's inaccurate. 1. Leon's/Claire's original outfits are available after you beat the game (any difficulty, I just beat it on easy). 2. The Gun Shop is in this version, along w/ the bus you walk through in the city...they are just later in the game. 3. I've always seen leon's hair as brown. In 2, it was a bit red-brown. Blondes naturally do this over time. My hair was nearly white blonde when I was little and now it's more brown. 4. Some of the rooms are changed around, and some of the encounters are as well. Some of the doors are changed as well, being a barricaded gate now, or a locked door, or a door w/ a key required (I.E. the cop was in the 2nd door on the West in the original). You had to unlock the doors at the beginning w/ a keycard using the computer. Now it only shows video surveillance to get you to try to save branaugh's partner in the guard room. 5. Mr. X/Nemesis will follow you into most rooms (except a few and the save rooms I believe). He will track you down by sound through floors, rather than only in certain areas then permanently losing him. 6. You can keep doors locked to keep Mr. X from chasing you in certain areas. 7. A lot of the items are either completely different or repurposed (I.E Using C4 to blow open cell door for 3rd statue instead of a door that leads to Chief Iron's Office. 8. You don't have to divide up the expansion slots from the fanny packs you obtain throughout scenario A and B between Leon and Claire. YOu get a lot more space this version. 9. The order in which you obtain the keys, traverse locations and where they go are completely different in this version as well. YOu don't visit certain areas until near the middle or end of the game compared to the original where you visit them right away. 10. The original was just as scary back in 1998 as this game is today. You'd have to be old enough to remember :)
One of the best things in this remake is a Tyrant when he follows you around the entire police station and you can hear he's foot steps behind the wall. Awesome. I recommend Hardcore mode .

Nenad Jovanovic The remake still great compared to the original. I don’t see why everyone is being so crabby when their only valid complaint is the sound in which you have to option to get the deluxe and get the original sound.
Nenad Jovanovic But the zombies are coming at you at a faster pace, wouldn’t you want to be able to quickly get your weapon before your killed? It’s more modernized, which is what is going to pull in a larger audience. They aren’t going to just pander to 30 year olds who most likely won’t even buy the game, they are still trying to make as much money as possible, while making an exceptional game.
This game is a perfect example how a remake should be! Its amazing, its like a classic within a classic. I played the original re2 so much. And very much appreciate how they managed to keep it inresteting for past players. And mr x can be an annoyance from what you need to do. ill say, but it really adds to the experience. If you think that's bad, just imagine how a remake re 3 nemesis would be with nemesis running after you most the game ha. But thats for another time, currently enjoying this game and i could easily take this over the original just because it's done so right! Its like hitting home how i enjoyed the original oh so much.
It’s crazy what a couple years can really do. It all looks so real now days but yet I still remember having nightmares on the older games haha. I never actually played re2 so I really want to this time around, but I have to get my pc first before all that. I have a lot more fun on keyboard and mice than a controller for whatever reason.
@@joeblast8004 I meant to state it in a different way, as in how just a couple years is a huge growth not necessarily stating that Re2 was only a couple years ago.
It gets very repetitive and annoying quite honestly. The scripting in the original was handled better, and the soundtrack is superior compared to the remake.
He should have waited til he finished the game to make the vid or called this "1st impression s" and make a seperate vid comparing them when he finished at least sinarieo A for both Leon and Claire.
Say what you want about Capcom, but they seem to be changing their direction recently. Resident Evil 7 and this remake are amazing They brought Megaman back with 11 which is a good entry Monster Hunter World although kind of barebones after postgame is still a huge step up in terms of that franchise
even before the games, they kinda changed alot with some things.. they fixed some multiplayer games where the games for windows live servers closed, they ported to steam for free (some other companys did not make that) i don't see capcom as a mercenary company anymore they are on the right track.
While I'm really glad that the RE series came back to its roots (aka Survival-horror) a part of me really wishes that we could get a spin-off coop action series I mean one that's not Umbrella Corps
It is a amazing remake of a game....the original was awesome and i loved getting scared then, as a kid! Now as a adult, i feel like I'm playing a whole new game... has my palms sweaty thru much of the game! Cut scenes are amazing! Love it so far!!!
It's amazing that the remake looks way better than even the computer generated cutscenes of the original. I remember seeing those and imagining how crazy it would be if gameplay in Resident Evil looked that good some day.
Ending 2018 with a moan, but firing off 2019 with a BANG! If I'm not mistaken RE2 launched in Jan 98. At least the Devs at Capcom love this game like we do. Games that have a passionate team behind them that care about what they're making, and producers that allow it to happen.

The door animations made those games special! Now you open a door to go into a room it doesn’t feel any different than Cod, Fallout or any other newer game.
One of my complaints with REmake2 is how the story feels out of place at some points in the "A/B" scenarios. I also was expecting overhaul of certain areas and addition of new areas as well as enemies and items from RE 1.5. I did not expect that some parts where swap to later part of the game and the starting of "B" scenario right away in the RPD. I found the lack of mutations/variations from the ivy(and its exclusion), licker, crows, moths and the full tyrant mutation saddening. I was expecting to have one of the most awesome and difficult fights in with THAT scary mofo just to be tone down to a partial overgrown claw and restricted elevator platform as a fight arena. It was a good game and good reimagining of RE2 but not close to a remake as REmake1.
Yeah, remake's music is way more tame and it actually leaves the sounds to the ambience, creaking wood, footsteps, doors closing in the distance, it's way more atmospheric. Although Mr. X theme when he gets too close is one the most stress inducing themes i've seen
A “comb over” is very different from a side part. I have a left side part and i wish people would stop calling it a comb over. People for some reason have no idea what a comb over actually is.
@Bjorn Ironsides yes, 'cause not completing the game means his direct comparisons with actual footage aren't credible, of course, how could I be so stupid.
The original was one of my favourite games of all time and still is. But I think they did a fantastic job on the new one. I loved every minute of it. Also... spoiler alert, Gun Shop Kendo is still in Leons campaign
They did a great job with the remake but it still pales in comparison in terms of quality. The original had a charm and style to it that was unmatched by any other RE game. Also, the RE imagined version focused heavily on the G-Virus without acknowledging or mentioning the T-Virus. Plot lines were altered in a way that short changed the story. Ada's boyfriend is cut, Ben exposing Irons with his bribery letter got cut, Ben's character build was weak in the remake and far better in the original. Also, Iron's was shown as an antagonist right away without the build which existed in the original.
@@captainjaber5610 Yeah, the story was downgraded and something about the original layout is just better for me. I don't really see how everyone is saying that they remember stairs when going back to the original RE2 after playing the remake. The standards today are just having good graphics.

RE2 was my favorite in the series and i was part dreading, part ecstatic about this game, but my god did it deliver. capcom really did an amazing job bringing it up to date! my only real problem with it was how little differences there were between scenario a and b in this version as they kind of amalgamated them into the first playthrough. other than that i could not be happier with it. really hope they go on to do RE3 in the same manor
Honestly. That was my only complaint, too. I couldn't get over why some of the things I did in A as Claire, I had to do as Leon in B. There was obviously some attempt to keep the paths different, but there were also a lot of times (e.g., the clocktower) I was like, "Why would they both do this?" Minor issue tho.

Huh.. Not on Leon...
Yes, but they took out so many parts. The second run now is almost identical to the first run. The originals were so much better.
Absolutely cannot wait if Resident Evil 3 gets a remake. ❤❤

Original - better music

But guess what? There's an option to turn the original soundtrack and SFX on. Though I got the deluxe edition, so it might be DLC outside of that.

GTA: Vice City needs to be remade with the same music and some added, new missions. Now that would be a great game.
@Death Enforcerer Yes, Sir

Capcom, please remake the entire franchise in this image..Thank you..
But... the gun shop is in Leon’s storyline.
he did't went that far yet
You'd have to be old enough to remember :)
gozinta82 Mr. X is not Nemesis. Nemesis is a different Tyrant.

Both of those...hell yes! And add to list Dino Crisis and Fear Effect.
Parasite Eve 2 would look so amazing as a remake, I would buy it
I forgot that was a game for the past 20 years and I think I'll be just fine forgetting it for another 20
For someone like me who has not played the original the remake helped me feel how good this game was.
God Has abandon us How do you compare if you never played the original one?
If u can play the original, is still a masterpiece in it's own right. The remake is a whole other game, not only they remake but add more gameplay in the game. I can't imagine RE3 remake is gonna be epic!
Joseph Mauricio Flores I can’t because it is out of my time but I imagine it was better than the remake though.
@@NoName-sv6iy it wasn't better by any means but damn is it good. For how old it is it still is amazing
@@NoName-sv6iy You do can download a PSX emulator on your PC and connect a Joystick to it. Then download the Rom for the game an Voila!
I know its cheeky since its technically pirating, but if that bothers you thr PS1s are like 20 dolars now. And the game is like 10. The thing is finding a store that still has them lol
I love the original pistol sound and the little ding of the bullet casing just fired hitting the ground.
@Shawn Kemp Did you just gatekeep resident evil 2?
Nenad Jovanovic The remake still great compared to the original. I don’t see why everyone is being so crabby when their only valid complaint is the sound in which you have to option to get the deluxe and get the original sound.
Just to clarify I love the remake. I've done 8 playthroughs and got the platinum trophy. I just miss the bullet casing going ding.
I cant say a remake, but more of a re imagining
@@rdu239 Those two are pretty much the same thing in context dude.
I agree with you
if they fucking made 3 like they did two id buy it but Nemsis is a pain in the ass in the original i hated him
Bah - I need nemesis to storm the save rooms for re3. I want complete terror and real time inventory selection
Leon's hairstyle is definitely his signature look
the guy has had the same haircut for over 20 years lol
@DisagereetoAgree Leon's just a pretty boy

It’s crazy what a couple years can really do. It all looks so real now days but yet I still remember having nightmares on the older games haha. I never actually played re2 so I really want to this time around, but I have to get my pc first before all that. I have a lot more fun on keyboard and mice than a controller for whatever reason.

Couple years? This is a generational difference.

@@ernestohernandez9370 lol yes I'm aware its been a long time I just stated it in a wrong way, my apologies
@@joeblast8004 I meant to state it in a different way, as in how just a couple years is a huge growth not necessarily stating that Re2 was only a couple years ago.
Direct comparison, there's a lot more swearing in the remake
Yeah, the original is like the PG version. 😂😂
It gets very repetitive and annoying quite honestly. The scripting in the original was handled better, and the soundtrack is superior compared to the remake.
JESUS CHRIST!!!
He should have waited til he finished the game to make the vid or called this "1st impression s" and make a seperate vid comparing them when he finished at least sinarieo A for both Leon and Claire.
Say what you want about Capcom, but they seem to be changing their direction recently.
Resident Evil 7 and this remake are amazing
They brought Megaman back with 11 which is a good entry
Monster Hunter World although kind of barebones after postgame is still a huge step up in terms of that franchise
even before the games, they kinda changed alot with some things.. they fixed some multiplayer games where the games for windows live servers closed, they ported to steam for free (some other companys did not make that) i don't see capcom as a mercenary company anymore they are on the right track.
While I'm really glad that the RE series came back to its roots (aka Survival-horror) a part of me really wishes that we could get a spin-off coop action series
I mean one that's not Umbrella Corps
But then there's SFV. It's actually unbelievable that the same company made that turd.

Ending 2018 with a moan, but firing off 2019 with a BANG! If I'm not mistaken RE2 launched in Jan 98. At least the Devs at Capcom love this game like we do.
Edit: Hopefully this provides some evidence to other companies what a lot of gamers are still wanting. Games that have a passionate team behind them that care about what they're making, and producers that allow it to happen.
Yes indeed. But, this wouldn't have happened all of the fails along the way.

One of the best things in the remake is the immediate transition between rooms without loading time.
Not really...
The door opening added suspense to the game and was hardly a load time...
@@Altered-Beast yeah it was boring and annoying after watching it for 3748292 times
@@Altered-Beastpls the door animation was extremely annoying
The door animations made those games special! Now you open a door to go into a room it doesn’t feel any different than Cod, Fallout or any other newer game.
Just another thing they took out that made the remake boring.
Agree wholeheartedly. It's a shame that Capcom got lazy on the B scenarios and we didn't get an improved zapping system.
3:10 “Looks more alive than ever” I was waiting for a joke here, because, resident evil
I put it back far enough so that people would get the entire context.
The remake lacks memorable music, unfortunately.
Mr. X music?
Eduardo Pereira you can switch to the original music if u have special edition or the DLC for it.
Super Tyrant?3rd g form?
Yeah, remake's music is way more tame and it actually leaves the sounds to the ambience, creaking wood, footsteps, doors closing in the distance, it's way more atmospheric. Although Mr. X theme when he gets too close is one the most stress inducing themes i've seen
If you have the deluxe edition it has the original soundtrack from the old one.
The RE2 remake looks amazing. But let's not forget the Resident Evil 1 remake for Gamecube. That game still looks great, and it was released in 2002!
10:16 when your zombie literally sounds like a cow from minecraft ....

A “comb over” is very different from a side part. I have a left side part and i wish people would stop calling it a comb over. People for some reason have no idea what a comb over actually is.
Definitely agree. Don't people usually use comb-overs to hide their baldness? XD

Yeah, the older ones have much more atmosphere.

I played both. 98 still runs best for me. It’s the first love ❤️
im with u bro
The two campaigns for the original were completely different. Most of the two campaigns in this game are exactly the same with a few alternate locations added here or there. Most of the puzzles for each campaign on this one are exactly the same, as well.
it's quite frustrating on repeat playthroughs
Resident Evil 2 was my favorite of the series. This one is really cool and amazing, but I would have loved a remake:remastered edition like zero and the first one got. Even now.

*unzips* back to work kay
You sound like Kermit the frog (not a bad thing)
Remake was top notch.
Personally, I'd like to see a Code Veronica remake.

They didn't have the biggest budget for this game, in all fairness. Reboots are often hit or miss. This was a SMASHING hit and I can't wait for them to redo 1 and 3 and maybe 4 10 years from now. All while creating spin off games featuring the characters who are more fleshed out than ever before.
6:41 Take notes Bethesda. It's 2024 and you still have people loading to get inside buildings.
To be fair tho, the doorway loading sequence was creepy in and of itself and added a bit of extra nuance to the game. Those squeaky hinges still kinda creep me out.
