These are amazing, but I have to admit 3 & 4 are definitely my favorites! I always enjoy playing around w different things to see what shapes I'll get. Suppose that's half the fun!😉 Thxs for sharing!
i loved the quilting effect the buttons just finished it off and last week i played with my first use of sodium silicate, i could have lots of fun with that. mini disaster and my almost finished pot suddenly left the wheel denting part of the wheel, was able to round the upper edge with a yougurt pot and a fellow potter sugested it looked like a smile and that i should dab a flash of red like lipstick, when I mentioned I could add teeth, 2 laughted, sadly the rest just looked and shook their heads.lol
Love it!! You make it look easy, which I know it isn't, but I am willing to give some of these a try. I LOVE the crackle, I love all the zesters and graters. I especially love the quilted vase, which I'll just bet is one of the most difficult. Right now I am making a simple bowl and want something different to texture it, and now I can't decide which one to try!! Thanks.
Unfortunately, we did not glaze these...had to get other customer work glazed and shipped :) We are doing a video this week on mug alterations that will be glazed so stay tuned!!!
I don’t do pottery yet (although it’s what I want to do, but I’m poor) but I do sculpt with things like sculpey and one thing I do is to take a few pieces of clay around with me and try to see what Different textures I can get out of different objects I come across. You can’t always bring the texture to you so I figure it’s just as worthwhile to bring the clay to the texture.
That's actually the best technique! If you make a disc or wheel shape and roll it across whatver texture and bisque fire it, tgen thread a wire through and make a handle (or just tape it into one) you can texture any surface seamlessly and have a permanent tool to recreate whenever. It also gives you thr exact texture instead of the reverse doing it with the clay tool. Btw if you're poor, look at primitive firing techniques for very interesting ways to fire in your yard almost free. Like pitfiring or potfiring. Clay is pretty cheap, just mix it with alot of grog or sand if using primitive firing, and make your peices in even thickness.

On the corn on the cob? Try using one of the dried Indian corn cobs you find in stores for decorative use around Halloween/Thanksgiving. It would probably work better because it might hold up longer.
All are so elegant and beautiful 💕 Can please tell me what kind of clay are you using, and can I use it for hand built? Is it air-dry? I'll be so glad to know

I like how when you were adding grooves with the sea shell, the music got noticeably more groovy. Your shenanigans are not wasted on me.

Love the crackling effects
Really cool effects! Thanks for the inspiration and sharing it with us ❤
They’re all unique and interesting techniques. By far my favourite is the crackle. I looooove it.

tks a lot for the video! I learned new great ideas. If I want to prepare the sodium silicate at home, what are the proportions, please?
You know I’m ALL about texture! 😄🙌🏻💖
are there any solutions that you can make yourself that will have the same crackle effect as the sodium silicate?
Not only do you do such incredible work, the tips and techniques you share are fantastic and helpful. Thank you!

There are so many options but I use Standard #365 English Porcelain.

Gracias por enseñar. Pero que material usa en la masa???
I read that you didn't glaze these but if you had what would you have done for 3 and 4? A slip?
Hi Helen...I would most likely just put a clear glaze like Amaco C11 over it. Thanks!

The sodium silicate mug ,how did it look after fireing
We don’t know...we haven’t fired it yet but when we do we will share.

I love them but some are a pain to clean I assume.
Use a co2 canister to blow on to the sodium silicate to make it set instantly
