One piece of advice from an Osaka native. Always add Katsuo dashi / Bonito stock to the takoyaki batter. It is absolutely necessary. It is as important as butter is needed for croissant dough. Generally, granulated versions (such as Hondashi) are used.

first time watching one of your videos, i use the watch a lot of cooking videos and just can say that you made an amazing job, the way you show how the takoyaki is made its so comfy and easy for any kind of ppl, even for beginners on cooking, thanks a lot
Fun fact.
This dish is really similar to a danish dessert called "Æbleskiver" (Apple-slices). Where we put in cinnamon covered apples instead. Its usually eaten during Christmas. :)
