This is the Eco-conscious gamer video I didn't know I needed. (Also you guys missed a huge opportunity in the intro line to say "mean, green, gaming machine")
Contrary to reality, nuclear is viewed as "the anti-green power." It makes no sense to me either, but maybe it's association with the bombs? Mr. Burns' plant on The Simpsons? The only incidents I can think of where a nuclear plant actually released material into the environment were Chernobyl (with compromized design and construction compounded by shutting down all the safety measures, including ones not in the plan, for a test) and Daiichi, which was poorly located but would ahve been fine without a natural disaster. Compare to every coal or oil or natural gas plant ever spewing combustion products, all day erry day... especially coal, which themselves can actually release radioactive material from stuff in the coal from what I've read.
@@dialNforNinja Maybe if we called it "Active Mineral Powered Water Turbine Energy" then people would forget about the pipedream of powering the whole earth with wind and solar and be open to actual clean, sustainable energy...
@@cahsahhhhhhhn kinda funny how every form of power plant besides solar revolves around a (pun intended) revolving turbine spinning a generator. Wind? Turbine, hydro? Turbine, coal? Turbine, even nuclear is used by having nuclear fission heating up water to create steam and spin a turbine. Guess humans aren't that creative 😂
I wonder how much performance is lost compared to the same system at stock settings. If it's only 10-20% I might seriously consider doing it for real use, slowly increasing clocks as the system ages.
Yes, this is a HUGE piece that should have been included in the video! I want to see the percentage drop in power consumption and the percentage loss in performance versus the stock settings. If it's like 10% power savings for a 10% loss in FPS, at that point we should probably just buy a lower-end part and call it a day. If it's like a 40% power savings for a 10% loss in FPS, that's awesome and makes this seem worth doing, but it's still good to know what the approximate FPS hit is; the day will come when your system can't give you a stable 60 FPS and it'll be nice to know about how much performance overhead you have if you were to revert to stock.
I like the way that this channel doesn’t try to unfairly compare consoles to PCs to prove a point. You guys can see the advantages of different playstyles and respect them each. You even give some credit to Apple where credit is due, which I don’t see anyone else doing. Make sure not to let go of this open-minded approach. It’s part of what makes this channel so strong!
0:17 nuclear energy isn't "technically" a fossil fuel. it _is_ non renewable but *doesn't* produce greenhouse gasses. I does produce some nasty nuclear waste though. I live in Ontario, Canada and most of our electricity is made from nuclear power plants (~60%) as well as wind farms (~10%) and hydroelectric dams (~20%) the remaining is from fossil fuels.
Sanity016 It’s kinda not really renewable in that the same nuclear stuff used in a power plant can be reused at another power plant, which would decrease the nuclear waste. idk how it works and my explanation here is bs af, but ok France does something like this and the majority of their power is from nuclear

He basically is the white Morgan Freeman.
Anthony is just amazing. I'd like to see more videos with him or even a video of him going Solo.

At what point do you just strap a solar panel to your PC and call it a day

I absolutely loved this! Anthony is by far one of my favorites on LTT.
Yup. Anthony is a PC brainiac.
you missed the com at the end
He is 100% better then that loser James !
I'm hoping power efficient build guides come back! I've managed to get the rest of my house power efficient but our PCs are doubling my electric bill and we're still on 720p-1080p! When I see the wattage on current gen parts any thought of upgrading goes out the window.
Mostly gonna depends on how old your gpu/cpu is
"That was scripted by the way"....The look on Anthony's face.....Was waiting for the middle finger.
I had the Avenger scene where Hulk punches Thor in my mind
Shadow maybe even that phrase was scripted
That brief contemplation of homicide on Anthonys face..😂
That was brutal...
Title: Making a PC more efficient than a console
Me: I sure hope it does
Actually as consoles run custom chips in smaller cases allowing less power draw because of worse heat transportation it's actually surprising that a pc is more efficient. But if you now compare the prices: A PC with that specs is around 800€ while you can get the xbox one s now for 169€
I really hope you are not under the impression gaming pc's are more efficient then consoles
I was referring to speed as a joke 😂
@Haitian Xu They've mentioned the lower cost of a console.
@@siteking4289 Titanium certificated PSU is making it closer to €900 I think.
Best tip: Have an Anthony in your back pocket.

The look on Anthony's face.... Sheer brilliance.
Great vid LTT. You folks are rocking it.
"solar, wind or hydro" WHY DOES EVERYONE ALWAYS IGNORE NUCLEAR?
Depends what type of nuclear. Thorium is very safe and clean
@@randomgeekstuff2560 all modern nuclear plants are highly safe and even cleaner.
Guess humans aren't that creative 😂
would love to see this video redone now

7:14 - Looks like Anthony wants to ruin Linus' career
Agreed. This was a very awkward video

Had to stay away from this channel for a month but we back
I like the way that this channel doesn’t try to unfairly compare consoles to PCs to prove a point. You guys can see the advantages of different playstyles and respect them each. You even give some credit to Apple where credit is due, which I don’t see anyone else doing. Make sure not to let go of this open-minded approach. It’s part of what makes this channel so strong!
I don't care about the environment

your nasty
This should be an annual subject revisited.
Beha awwad nuclear is commonly regarded as the halfway point between fossils fuels and renewable energy.
@@fordrollhaus9086 Nuclear is more output per square inch though...
Christopher VanZetta So? It’s less clean than renewable energy but more clean than fossil fuels because it still produces some waste.
@@fordrollhaus9086 rather some waste that we can store untill it becomes not dangerous anymore, than super slow and non-efficient renewable.
This is such a great video. Feel like this often an overlooked build. Feel like the o my builds you see are budget and extreme builds these days
Anthony is so stealthy, I feel like he just kind of appears out of nowhere whenever he's in a video.

I love it when Linus builds anti console PC's
Lol me too
Thats like every PC tho 😆
Conor He’s 17? Male?
Webbie The point is to make a modern computer, with console efficiency. I don’t think any sane person thinks that hardware a generation or two behind is going to keep up. Merely to point out that if you wanna, you’ve got a console level device. Run windows 10 and it is an next gen xbox. Kinda.
This video is so calming. Like the Bob Ross of computer builds

I really needed to get into this topic when i had problems with my home's energy provider everyday with peaks and failures of energy that i had to buy a nobreak, and as the prices of them skyrocket as the wattage increases, i had to think on power to build my pc. Thanks for the video!
