It sure is.Mallorca is a very special place & soon humanity will discover what Mallorca really is because the truth is coming out.The truth will set us free so you can imagine what they didnt teach us in school:The truth/real history.
I am Mallorcan, and I thank the tourists who come to enjoy the corners of my island, Mallorca really is not known since it is full of fabulous corners and also has culture and typical foods different from those of the rest of Spain, and especially you I appreciate that you show some of those corners and not the crowded spaces that give Mallorca a bad name as a destination for drunkenness. Mallorca is not one but many. The Balearic Islands in general are still unknown. and also in low season is when it is most enjoyed.
Hi, I'll be coming off season for a week, pretty soon to drive around Mallorca, and take life as it comes ;-) ... do you have any recommendations for "hidden" corners, not well known but gorgeous ? Everything but the crowded places ! Thank you very much in advance !
I totally agree with you, however I do appreciate the people who stay in accommodation and hire cars etc, putting money into the island and creating jobs.
Watching you guys today is wonderful, the energy and joy you are experiencing from life is brilliant to see. I have been following you for a couple of years now and I remember when you were struggling with depression. You have turned your lives around.
Buddy coming up the mountain on “roller blades” was actually on roller skis, they are a form of dry land trading for Nordic skiers. People use them to train for cross country skiing when there is no snow.
Great to hear your adventure here on my island! And so lovely you got out into the mountains! Especially interesting what you thought about Deia! It becomes packed in the summer with A-list celebs and crazy tourism! I would definitely recommend coming back and trying some more hiking. I've lived here for 16 years, and travelled and lived in so many other places around the world and Mallorca has the perfect blend of everything! Especially the weather!
Yep I remember going the Mallorca in the early 1990's with my mate on a lads holiday (think we were both 18). I was expecting what is on offer on the Spanish mainland. We stayed in Santa Ponsa which was as expected....but once we explored the island it became apparent. One of the most naturally beautiful spots in all of Europe. The north west coast the pinnacle for me. Stunning
Gosh I'm so glad I found you guys. I need good tips for Mallorca as I only have a few days, and I had to suffer through several videos of influencers taking selfies and sipping wine, to the point that I was wondering if there's any normal people travelling here anymore. You made my day.
Haha the guy was ‘skiing’, they do it here in Norway all summer to stay in shape for the winter cross country skiing season. After living here for a year, it still looks funny 😂
Totally agree. I never wanted to visit due to the drunk English German beach party resorts. Then we went. Stayed in a small beach town on the SE coast and drove around and drove inland and to the north coast..stunning. You get the same hair pin bends on the high Alpine roads from Austria to Italy. That guy was on grass slope skis. Cala sa calobra beach is so busy in summer with thousands of tourists coming in on boats as well as some coming your route. You were lucky.
We never had a full month of bad weather like last november. If you could have a really sunny day in this places you have been in this video you'll not believe it, It looks even better. It's great to see Brits enjoying off season Mallorca. Congrats for the video
Emma and Alex, you have found the hidden gems of Majorca beyond Spring Break for Brits and Germans. Great vlog guys. It brings back wonderful memories. Be Well. Stay Safe. Harriet and Jim from Richmond, Va. 😍😍😍
It's such a treat to see the rest of the island! We can't wait to go back and explore more. The only town outside of Palma that we saw was Deia and it was lovely! We were thinking about your question of where is overrated and underrated and, for us, that's Venice. We went thinking we'd hate it based on what we were told. But we didn't do any of the touristy things and loved it! We bad a different experience entirely and I think people would love it if they stayed a few days and properly explored.
I live in China and have been pushed to travel to places I wouldn’t have otherwise visited due to the travel restrictions. There is so much more here than most people realise! Definitely a good example of overrated and underrated! If you haven’t already, come and visit Inner Mongolia and travel along the Silk Road once the borders open again!
Gorgeous island ... I had heard about these backcountry riches from a cousin - he told me that as of March every year, the island explodes with spring blossoms. That would be a sight to see - and smell, I imagine. And spring would be earlier than northern Europe or northern America, so one could get away from the grey wet springs we know ...
We have been to Mallorca a few times and when you stay far away from the major tourist towns the island has so many wonderful places to offer.A Finca up in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range is just fantastic!
Beautiful video. Not crazy but definitely varied was my road trip from Slovakia, through Hungary, then Macedonia into and around Greece. Then headed back through Macedonia into Serbia, then Hungary into Austria to Germany and Netherlands. Then return via Germany to Czechia to Poland and finally back to Slovakia where I lived for a while while working on a project.
Lovely video, thank you for sharing. Gate's Pass, near Tucson Arizona was a fantastic "day out" for me a few years back; Picos de Europa in Northern Spain is also great for some switchback roads.
Have you never seen rollerskis before? Probably a Norwegian with skiing abstinence. You will see thousands going upp the hills around Oslo on rollerskis whenever we’re out of snow.
Love this episode guys! Recently we had a wonderful time looking for hidden beaches on Sardinia, Italy. The mountains are absolutely amazing and the roads are wonderful! Amazing landscape with lots of twists and turns with dramatic, sweeping ocean views. Cheers:)
I am from Sardinia but i live in Mallorca from 20 years. Sardinia is now, like Mallorca was 60 years ago with the good and the bad. In Sardinia we have a much more unpoluted and extended land, most of people live from agriculture and herding. The bad is that roads and infrastructure are horrible, many places are unaccessible with cars( that's probably a good thing). If you have a OffRoad Car or Bike....you can really enjoy the 300km x 150km gorgeous island. We have even a little desert that ends in beautiful beaches. The inner land feels like a never ending Natural park.
@@fabiano6408 there was a great new highway through the mountains at the southern end which was so surprising but the smaller roads were tricky. What a wonderful place. I would love to go back and explore the north of the island this time.
Gosh you must have mad driving skills meandering through those snake-like roads! Absolutely jaw-dropping. Never heard much about Mallorca. So you guys have uncovered a revelation. Alex's remark about heroes ...classic :) Ohhhh, btw, while there it seems like you ran into another wonderful UA-camr I follow, Brogan Tate!!
Yes love Mallorca especially away from the main resorts. Remember a few years ago following all the dustbin men into a real small Spanish bar in Port D'entraxt and having their lunch menu....which consisted of a small spag bol to start, then fresh fish and salad, creme caramel to finish served with fresh bread, a bottle of water and a whole ruddy bottle of local Roja! Cost 8 euro's!!
Well done on another great video you 2 ❤️👍. Majorca is beautiful! We are currently on the other side of Europe sat in our van in Poland in the snow 😢 This video is making us want to leave and drive to warmer climates 🤣
Hi Emma Alex,I think when it said road closed it meant it lol but at least you could have a look about ,what a beautiful hike just love the goats, the non tourist side of the island is beautiful over the mountains it’s beautiful stunning lots of films was made there space films as well, once you was through the tunnel it opened up to some beautiful beaches absolutely stunning, the only exciting road was Apple cross pass in Scotland very good especially when it’s wet lo. Great blog most interesting, till next time take care keep safe, John 🤷♀️🤷♂️🙌😆👍🥰🎅🏻🎄🔥🔥

Actually Sa Calobra is the end of Torrent de Pareis, a massive gorge with 300m walls in some sections. Is one of the most stunning hikes you can do 🤩 glad you liked our home 🏠
The guy on the roller skis, I think it’s practice for cross country skiing. Obviously there’s not much cross country snow in Spain so it’s a good way to train. I saw this in Mijas up in the hills. Had a look at the N-rot neck gaiters, $50 my god, you can send me one if you want 😉. Brilliant videos every week, love your content.
The guy was roller skiing. It's the summer version of cross country skiing and what most of the professional cross country skiers and biathletes do to train when there's no snow. It's hard work!
I really love this episode, for us on behalf of my parents & me will be Paris France to Frankfurt Germany & to Warsaw Poland, it was varied Landscape, but very beautiful, We love Europe so much so that it is the best continent I ever visited, My parents visited more countries before I was born
Wow, l live in Mallorca and have done for 48 years. L loved your video to see you reporting on trips l made so long ago and always took my friends and visitors on. ...Mallorca is definately not just that beach holiday....Thank you for a wonderful video portaying the other take on this lovely island....
Head to Picos de Europa. Amazing roads and sights, plus the largest roman gold mine and the famous Camino de Santiago hike trail. Also, you can take your own van on the 24hr ferry from the UK to Santander/Bilboa.
My tip: Highway number 1 along the Pacific coast (the hyped..) and the totally unknown trip around the "Nieuwkoopse plassen " in the Netherlands (Best by bike - of course! The Netherlands!)
Fantastic vlog guys, thank you!😀 Suggestion: Isle of Man - we have spent a number of "holidays" over there as 'im indoors used to race in the TT but I was amazed by the countryside.... it's like the whole of the UK in one island 😀
Hey Emma & Alex...as you perhaps have seen from my other comment, I know one or two things about all things German/Germany. Majorca (or Malle) is affectionally known as Germany's unofficial 17th Federal State or home, as many like to call it. I personally love it and could spend many days, weeks, months and perhaps even retire there, although perhaps avoid the busy West coast, when not shopping or site seeing...and instead head for the North and East at any time of the year. Love your vlogs and look forward to many more!!!
Sounds basic but we did a road trip through most of Italy in December, 2018. The drives around Florence to find our rural Airbnb in the middle of the night fog were insane. Hairpin curves, no visibility, people just flying past as if they had X-ray vision lol … I enjoyed it because I’m pretty adept at crazy driving but it was in the top ten “what are we doing out here??” list of drives. Driving up Pike’s Peak in Colorado is another scary one. But #1 has to be Scenic Byway 12 from Bryce Canyon to Capitol Reef National Parks in Utah. No guardrails, 8,000 foot drops on both sides, no GPS to tell you how much longer it’ll be, no lights at night to let you see the black cows in the middle of the road ... I almost had a true panic attack on that one but we made it safely and my mom enjoyed the views I couldn’t see because my eyes were glued to the road. 😅
OMG when you came out of that tunnel and then you pointed the camera over the edge it felt/looked like Emma was driving off the road. Scared me half to death.
Nice video but you missed so many great places and roads. The south side of the mountains is nearly as spectacular as the coast but more agricultural. The Torrent de Pareis (By Sa Calobra) is a great walk but it would take you all day, there's no exit till you reach the top! And there's another great hike over on the Alcudia peninsula to the Ermita de Victoria. The guy you saw on the Sa Calobra road was using a pair of cross-country-skiing training wheels - really hard work up that hill! And thanks for the Boquer Valley tip, we hadn't discovered that one, it looks great.
I spotted an octopus (pulpo) in the water at Cala Bóquer two months ago. It was amazing to see one alive in nature. Even better than the begging goats at the beach.
Wow, wow, wow, that Boquer Valley trail looked all kinds of beautiful. I'm assuming it wasn't overly strenuous given that it was done on the same day as the beach? The mountain pass road could give the Transfagarasan a run for its money! ❤️
You have to do Trollstigen from Andalsnes when you go to Norway. Similar steep windy road, up the side of a waterfall, with fantastic views down the valley from the top.
Where you wanted to walk through at the Cala sa Calabra is the torrent de parreis, the deadliest hike in Mallorca. It can only fully be hiked in summer, since at any other time their could water masses be coming from the mountains. It is a beautiful hike, but you have no signal and not even a helicopter can reach you in case of an emergency.
A two day trip around Mallorca is nothing nearly enough to explore the beauty of this island and unfortunately you did not see it on a bright sunny day when the water is magnificently blue. Mallorca is a magical place filled with history and amazing nature ( sea or land) that some British don’t explore it , now nothing about it and bring it bad reputation sadly. What you both saw doesn’t even scratch de sides of what this island has to offer. ☀️🌴🪵⛰🏖🌅🌄⛵️🧗🏼🚵🏼♀️🧘🏼♀️🏌🏻♂️🐟🐠👙🩲🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻😉

Lovely Mallorca. A toasty warm trip to escape the cold of winter for a bit.

Once again, all credit to the author of the video and greetings from Zagreb Croatia
many happy memories of Mallorca, especially Sa calobra and the torrent behind it, thanks
Yes some of the best views of the mountains and beaches. Those roads were awesome 🤩 Another great video.
ahh you guys really did make the best of the good weather before all the rain!

Try Picos de Europa national Park. Northern Spain. Serious mountain roads and stunning vistas.
