It truly is lovely to see someone who is not a native, love and appreciate Mallorca and the Mallorquin people. You have done the few places you covered justice. There’s so much more to see and do there, I hope many more tourists learn to appreciate the enormous amount of culture and history on our Island. But I have to disagree with the breakfast, after time away nothing says I’m home like the first bite of a warm ensaimada! Except maybe some butifarron, or a pa am boli.
As a fellow brit, who can't stand holiday resorts, but ends up at one from time to time because you know, family. I can also second that Mallorca is fantastic, and really worth exploring outside of the chavy resorts. For a start Palma is a genuinely interesting & historical city, Deia is stunning. Soller is a must visit along with Valldemossa. Great vid.
My favourite place, visited when I was a small child, visited again with family in may2013 and I have visited 2/3/4 times a year since - got back from my first '22 trip last week. I stay in palmanova but I explore the island I love the hidden gems that the everyday tourist don't get to see
Went there last year, what a place!,spent 5 days there, caught up with one of my Spanish mates,he showed me all around the island, could happily live there, the food, the people, the history, especially the food and beers,so cheap.
Very good video, and I totally agree. I am a Norwegian woman and I have visited Mallorca both during summer and winter and have travelled by public transport to see different places and to do some walks. I'll be back again later for sure. Thank you for sharing this 👍🏼😊
I always go back to Mallorca, you just know it's a great place to be. So many lovely places to discover. I highly advice people to hire a care or go by train if you want to go to Valldemosa and Soller. If you go on an organized bustrip all you'll have to do is "hurry, hurry, hurry" and that was a big no/no!

I love Spain, it is a beautiful country; I visit 1-2 times annually, but the Covid-19 parked me in the USA for now. Thank God that I can go on UA-cam and watch videos that reminds me of the beauty, and culture of Spain. Thanks for the video
Really enjoyed the video I've just recently visited Mallorca and enjoyed every moment we stayed in palma city and was amazed how good the local bars and restaurants were the tapas bars was my favourite may return next month thanks for sharing mike☺
I am seeing this video too late. I am in Mallorca at the moment and should have known this before haha! I have just been to cuevas del drach aka the dragon holes. It was unbelieveble and incredibily beautifull to see what nature has done there. If you are going to mallorca again you should visit this!
If you want to have a healthier and more authentic breakfast than a bagel, you must have a "pà amb oli". You will not regret it. Thanks for showing many nice things about the island :)
Love the fact you say 2 days out of the resort. I've been a few times now and always book a reasonable hotel so I don't feel tied to it... out every day exploring and enjoying local food and scenery.
Great video! I love Mallorca - have been visiting since childhood and it is one of my absolute favourite places on Earth. I like the way you captured Valdemossa and the lesser known parts of the island - it truly is a magical place. Well done!👏
Heading to barcelo illetas in May from Glasgow for first time on Mallorca , already looks like we will be returning again as soon as we get back ! Great watch and guide . Cheers mate
There is so much to see in Mallorca! Deia, Fornalutx, the West coast has the most stunning views! Son Marriog + Sa Foradada, Monasterio de Miramar, Formentor, Sa Calobra (very dangerous road!) Sant Elm, La Granja, the Sineu market, the many beautiful ermita's, we just fell in love with Mallorca when we first visited in 2013, the hospitality is so different from mainland Spain, now we are going back in August (had to move our dates because of the virus, hotel still closed at our 1st arrival date in June) we can't wait to explore more!
Hey man, I am from Mallorca and just stumbled upon your video. Nice one, hope you enjoyed being here. If you ever come back, you should consider visiting some of the small villages like Campanet, Sineu or Costitx. They are not so tourism-oriented, so they really capture the charm of rural life here, I'm sure you'll like them. Also I don't know if you were aware, but there's a place in Valldemossa called la Cartuja where Frederic Chopin used to live and it's gorgeous. Cheers mate
Sineu, yes! We met Ricardo Gogo, we also bought 2 works from him, unfortunately we didn't dare to "fly" the sculptures, he has great works! Deia is also a small jewelry box village! Too bad the Chopin Memorial House isn't open on Sunday!Mallorca is the best!!!
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
I'm a Spanish girl living in the UK. When I had a glimpse of you, mainly your shirt, haha, at the 'cover' of the video, I thought, oh no, another plain British guy tour doing the usual touristy stuff. Yep, don't judge anybody! I loved the video, the ideas, the tone of the narrative, very chilled and relaxing. Loved the history nuggets too. And I'm not even planning to go to Mallorca any time soon. Great video, well done!
Beautiful & lovely video. We first heard of Mallorca a couple of years ago because of the Australian most wanted fugitive business man Christopher Skase.
My hometown is Sóller, so 'Top Things You'd DIDN'T Know About Mallorca' doesn't really apply, but I didn't expect it to. Here's a thing many actually didn't know: the name Sóller comes from "sa olla" (the pot) as it exists in a large, bowl-shaped valley. I do appreciate you trying to pronounce place names correctly. It's a practice most Brits skip, but one that is appreciated in all parts of the world, so kudos for making the attempt. Try putting the accent on the first syllable, as it's written, and you'll be most of the way there. Now if you can just get the rest of the UK to pronounce "paella" correctly. Pro tip: it does not rhyme with "the fella". If a person can figure out how to pronounce "rendezvous" and "Merlot" correctly, this should be a breeze.
Great video so informative, I am lucky enough to call Pollenca in Mallorca my home. Writing this post Covid 19 lockdown & the island is slowly welcoming back the tourists, but if you're thinking of coming don't forget your masks, as of 13/7/20 it's now mandatory/ law to wear them when out in public places.
Lived in Pollenca from 1986 to 2001. Lovely landscape, lovely village - but if you try to be part of the Pollençins - forget it. They like to take your money but will exclude you. The Brits there are mostly busy with playing Golf and drinking too much in an upper class way... Moved to Ibiza in 2001 finally, best choice ever. Although I keep an apartment in Palma which I use frequently. Palma is small Barcelona and just wonderful and has an international mix.

Hi Jake, next time you visit Mallorca should to visit San Carlos Military Historical Castle and Museum in Palma near Portopi shopping center, you'll love it!
Enjoyed the video, I learnt some things about Majorca I did not know and I have been going every year since I was born! How come there were some clips of Cala Millor/ Cala Bona at the beginning but not featured during the video?
We're glad you enjoyed our guide! Unfortunately there just wasn't enough time to feature everything and give certain locations the attention they deserve. All the more reason to go back and visit again. ;)
Kimberley Huxley I think they’re trying to show alternatives to those kinds of resorts mainly. I spent time at Cala Millor as a kid - great fun place for young folks!
"Unlike infamous resort towns like Magaluf and Palmanova to the south, Port De Sóller came through the tourism overdevelopment stage in the 70s and 80s relatively unscathed." True, but there was a big push by developers and corrupt politicians to build up as much as possible. It's nice now, but it took a lot of battling by locals to keep it from turning into the kind of nightmares you see along the coasts on the mainland. It turned out fairly well in the end, but there are more buildings on the hill than there were ever supposed to be.

Strongly suggest to keep to the beaches, pool, your apartment, or hotel, and to shop for food at the supermarkets and you should be okay. Very rude and aggressive taxi drivers as well. A lot of anti-foreigner and anti-German sentiment amongst shopkeepers and locals despite the fact that they make their living from these very same foreigners, who are mainly German.
