    Her weight has nothing to do with the fact that she is still one of the best singers on the planet!!!

      i mean as you get older your metabolism slows down, so it's the case for her, but she aged gracefully!

    That was absolutely stunning. This was like 1.5 times faster than the original and she was STILL spotless. Amazing performance! As if the song wasn't hard enough to sing already! Ann NAILED it.

    Ann Wilson is a tremendously talented beautiful women. Her voice is the 8th wonder of the world. She can wail, she can be tender, she can be strong, she can hit more notes than most 'divas' can dream of. TALENT is what matters and she's got plenty of it.

    OMG!!!.. I LOVE this song, and for those that want to point out Ann's weight, I want to say that I know it took a LOT of guts to go out there night after night after gaining that weight and performing.. that woman STILL has an awesome voice and is in my opinion one of the BEST female performers of all time. Sure she looked hot when she was skinny, but she STILL looks hot now. look PAST the weight.

    I saw this tour twice. Once in Toronto and once in Hamilton. During one of the shows, Howard Leese was divebombing like nuts right before the intro, then he let the feedback go for a few seconds after bringing the bar back up to normal position, then the intro to the song - sounded cool!

    She sings just as GREAT as she did back then no matter what she looks like. Because it is not what you look like as a performer, it is how well you Sing and entertain. SHE FUCKIN ROCKS!!!!!!!!

    I say who cares about the R&RHOF! Ann and Nancy Wilson are both incredible. Ann is one of the finest vocalists in R&R history, and Nancy can simply rip up the guitar. They put many other musicians to shame. Seeing them live was always an honor and pleasure. If you get the chance, go see them!

      Also she never ever went on stage high.

    • @k.wilkie3814
      @k.wilkie3814 4 роки тому +1

      She quit drinking in 2009 after almost having liver failure. She was a wine alcoholic, fully functional, but drank it every day. She and Stevie Nicks both gained tons of weight after stopping cocaine, for some reason it seems to have that effect with women. I know part of the withdrawal from it for anyone is a voracious appetite with very little energy, so I'm sure that had something to do with it. I wish Ann could have controlled her weight a little better, she for a period of years in the 90s looked nothing like herself it got so bad. But she's healthy now and looks great. I can't imagine many things worse than being a public figure who was once a sex symbol having a weight struggle like that. People are so effing mean and for some reason our culture loves to see people at the top of their game fall. I've never understood it.

    I LOVE THIS SONG!!! ANN IS BY FAR THE BEST FEMALE ROCK SINGER EVER. I agree with darklady29.
    1. Ann Wilson
    2. Janis Joplin
    3. Pat Benatar
    three GREATEST!!!
    Oh and I can't forget...Those who talk shit about Ann's weight gain have no real appreciation for music. If you are more concerned about what the lead singer looks like rather then her voice...you are not a true fan nor are a lover of music.

    Yeah, really. Besides, if it was THAT BIG of an issue (Sorry bout the pun) she could always get the same surgery that fixed up Buck Rodgers, after he ate all them space-burgers. Besides, Anne Wilson has more talent in ass-cheek than 3/4's of todays top best 1 hit wonders, and certainly MORE talent and credibility than a basement living internet-surfing you-tube trolls.

  • @jsharp1701
    @jsharp1701 17 років тому

    I think they meant that the tempo is really sped up here compared to the original. I agree. A lot of bands do that with songs they've played 8 million times just to give it some variety (or get past it on the setlist to their new stuff). Plus this was during the height of the speed metal era. Still, Heart rules.

    This is way sped up from the original with Roger fisher on guitar. Ann couldn't hit those high notes quite the same cause of all the marshmellows and donuts. This just sounds like a soulless mishmash of noise compared to the 70's version.

    Yeah, Ann developed a weight problem and then the record companies pressured her to lose it fast and she told them to screw off and they parted ways. She's come back down a bit from this 1990 vid. They did an unplugged tour for a while in the 90's as well.

    The band may be a testosterone driven crap outfit emulating the heavier regions of metal without much ear for detail and true craftsmanship - in this performance her voice truly soars miles above the band mediocre performance. The original track is all about the right speed and the intricate melodies giving it such a different and beautiful taste.
    But listen to the crystal clarity of her voice. It flies miles high above the musicail mucus ejected by the mediocre following band.

    • @JohnSmith-gc1cm

      What a stupid post. The band played it that way on purpose because that was the style in the late 80s/early 90s. Nancy was the one playing the rhythm guitar with the hardest fast part, so are you going to tell us she was low on estrogen? Moron.

  • @mikedtw
    @mikedtw 16 років тому

    Heart was involved in a lawsuit with their first label. I believe they were prohibited from recording right after their smash hits debut. Lessee, can you say STRESS? I bet you know some non-famous person who's gained weight because of stress. It happens. By the time D&B was released, photos, even then, showed a somewhat heavier Ann, but who cares? Celebrate people for who they are, not just what they happen to look like.
