- Just leaving my friend's house in style in my Fb Rx7!!
Kind of impressed at the sound quality of the GoPro with how loud this car is and the windy driving conditions. Wind noise was set to auto on the cam, I'll keep trying the other modes to find the best.
GoPro Hero 10 Black
1983 Mazda Fb Rx7
'74 Street ported JDM 12a
RB ported Holley 600
RB intake mani
RB Road race headers extended to 72"
Aero Turbine 2525xl muffler
MSD 6al
++++
Definitely north Carolina back roads. I was up there today. Awesome bro
I love it out here! Never ending twisties to conquer
Looks like a ton of fun. This is the exact setup I want!
Awesome.
Thank you!
I used to own a very rare Alan Moffat 1982 white knight edition with a brand new 12a extend port which stripped my wallet. But for all the Wankel love. If you could afford it - the FB is meant to run a small capacity 2.6 litre Yamaha or Suzuki engined V8. Rotorheads will burn me alive at the stake - but come on. It's just unaffordable. Lighter, more powerful than a peripheral port. Just very much more in the $$$ zone.
Very nice! They certainly aren't the car to have for the feint of heart. I see it as more of a labor of love for the rotary that most people just don't share 🙂
nice - I like the MSD 6al rev limiter ... it can save the engine. 25 years ago, over-reving while trying to get unstuck on an icy road killed my '80 FB's engine (couldn't hear the rev warning buzzer over the spinning tires) :(
Thank you! It has certainly been a life saver setting it up this way!
I have a gslse that im building a track car out of. Im doing it period correct widebody. 13b ida weber. You car sounds great! Mine might be to loud. Header, 2.5 exhaust straight through to a borla muffler..
Very nice! I'm long tube headers to 2.5 with a straight thru muffler, I love how loud it is!
trying to get my hands on an 85 and ironically to also rip it up in nc
Yass!!
Did you do the tuning with the holley?
I've just been street tuning it so far. Change something, go drive it then change again. One day I'll get it on the dyno
What is that whining sound and where is it coming from? My rx7 fb 12a is making that same exact noise right after doing emissions and rats nest delete.
Mine whine is from my Gilmer drive pulleys. They prevent belt slippage and also whine like a supercharger 😁
@abstract_auto_customs7706 I must have a issue with my drive pulley then because mine is stock and it's making that same exact whining sound .
Hmm, that could be your front thrust bearing screaming.. or maybe alternator if it's more of an electrical whine
It is the waterpump slipping if you removed the air pump. Get a 3l220 lawnmower belt for the waterpump to eccentric shaft pulley.
What exhaust setup are you running
RB road race headers that I extended to 72" then 2.5" pipe to an aeroturbine 2525xl at the back
Holy shit, how much HP are you pushing? This is insane!
big fat 100
@@ghost.of.aleksz.salad. it looked like at least 200
Prob only ~150, never actually had it on a dyno yet
What suspension mods?
Absolutely none actually, it's all stock including the 13" wheels. It was restored back to original almost 20 years ago so everything underneath needs to replaced again
What part of carolina?
Far Western N. Carolina, Murphy area
I'm up in Northeast TN. About 35 miles out of boone.
@@davidlay5445 Nice!! I love it down here, tons of amazing roads to drive :)
Agreed. My home road is 421 the Snake. 37 miles and 489 curves, not counting the side roads. I've been running the snake since it was a wooly worm. Way before the bikes found it and started calling it the snake.
Hahaa love it! I may have to check that one out soon, sounds intriguing :)
Street ported 74 12a so did this used to be twin dizzy? 6mill apex seals?
Used to be, I swapped over an 83 front cover and dizzy to run MSD everything
