I have recently upgraded to an 8s system 12blade fan w/ in runner and Ive seen the performance. Its a significant difference from the 6s but nothing compared to what you did with 12s! Its insane. Fantastic work!
Thanks a lot David... The newer and heavier 90mm airframes really require much more power to fly well, but only a few have the wing and battery area to support it. I'm very happy with this one and the modded FW F-22.
I think he meant that some of the blue boxes can be bad. They're are instances when the blue box malfunctions and you lose all control except for the throttle which plugs directly in the receiver. The chances of this happening isn't all that great but it does happen.
beautiful flight, I would like to buy the 18, but many reviews say that the model is heavy so it's not fast, but for updates you have to change: engine and regulator? even if 'I update it to 8s? thanks bye
Yeah, it's hard to get the newer/heavier FW 90mm planes to perform... Even on a hot German and lightweight 8s setup they really only fly like a decent stock 80mm plane IMO... The lightweight EPS days were much better performance wise.
Hey buddy…. On this freewing 12s… Did you upgrade servos and if so what did u end up using. Also what Size BEC are you using ? I purchased a 160amp castle creations ESC to use with a 12s Shuebeler motor. Trying to figure out BEC info and servos to use. I’m assuming the elevator servos are the only ones needing it?
@@patmorris123 if you don’t mind see what ESC he used please. My castle creations is bit bulky and is gonna block airflow to my motor. Thanks, I appreciate it.
Yes, I'm running the stock servos with maximum resolution to help, but I did have to reinforce the elevator servo mounts. ESC/UBEC is all pilot preference, but I will say I'd never recommend Castle Creations... Just overpriced with far too many reliability issues IMO. Just my experience over the years. Hobbywing, ZTW, YEP, and many others are far better options.
@@fern6978 Thank you so much. What a beautiful jet you have setup. You inspired me to push my f18 a little further to make it even better. She’s all setup now with my 12S Schuebeler DS-51-AXI HDS V2015 90mm + HET. She’s ready for maiden flight. Just waiting on weather and Callie graphics. Thank you for sharing your video.
@Spanishcop Awesome! I'm glad to hear it! Most of my 90mm planes are setup this way and once you go true HV, it's hard to go back. 😁 I only run 6s if the plane is super lightweight or limited on room ha!
Just before 3:00 you said something about the blue box. This is the only thing keeping me from purchasing this plane myself, so could you give me any tips regarding the blue box?
How is fernando offsetting the extra weight for the extra battery? Did he add weights in the rear of the jet to get that 105cg? I'm running a similar setup and my nose is almost 7.5 ounces heavy on the nose and thats using lightweight batteries. Adding the Schubeler setup reduces weight in the back which makes it nose heavy and then you add the extra battery for the 12s and like I said, i'm close to 7.5 ounces. Can you please inquire and thank you.
Strange... If you're running 4000mAh or less (Mine are 590g each) you should have PLENTY of room to achieve 100- 105mm as I have. I've never added any dead weight to any model and if that's needed, the setup isn't optimal IMO. Keep in mind that the modified canopy is mandatory to utilize the correct lipo location. Good luck!
bellissimo volo ,vorrei comprare l'18, ma molte recensioni dicono che il modello è pesante quindi non è veloce ,ma per aggiornamenti bisogna cambiare: motore e regolatore? anche se' lo aggiorno a 8s?grazie ciao
She gets it done man! Dialed in perfectly!
Thanks brotha... Definitely another winner! : )
Good flight!!
Thanks buddy... She's locked in now. 🫡
Jesus she's wicked man thanks for sharing!!! Oh and I loved the shirt hhahaha
Bro that is sick!! Can't wait to do the Yak 130.
Thank you for the tricks and tips. It's much appreciated.
Clear skies!
Heck yeah man, I'm pumped to see it too... It's definitely the way to go 😁
If you're still a bit nose heavy (Which you shouldn't be) consider removing the heavy pilots, they're lkke 116g of dead weight IIRC 😉
@@fern6978 Roger that

Nice job Fernando!
That F-18 packs a punch! :D
Thanks brotha! She's got a lil somethin 😁
Great job and well thought out
Thanks! I'm really happy with how it turned out. 🤘😁
awesome landing
Thanks buddy! Yeah, she's a definitely a keeper now ha! 😊
Fantastic!
I saw Eurofighter is next to F-18. that is my favorite jet.
Such a classic... A true shame they discontinued that one.
@@fern6978 So sad. I waiting for Eurofighter release new generation hope it make by EPO foam.
Excellent video!
Glad you liked it!
Fun flight. great looking bird. i subded

But, when it happens to you, the chances jump straight to 100%.
Fernando talks in a video ! What is this world coming too. Lol. Nice vid guys

I know he used stock servos. I'll call him and get the other info or have him reply on this thread.

Yeah it's always safest to simply bypass/remove the Blue Box and just go directly into the receiver to avoid any possible issues with them.
Wow that really rips. I just got the gray version. So you eliminated the blue box and just used y harness for the elevator and aleron and rudders?
Yup... Better safe and sorry. Lighter too 😉

Awesome flying! Someone asked below and I also would like to know what EDF and ESC are you running?
Great job on the jet but need video improvement during flight! Sorry, the jet is absolutely beautiful!
Thanks Bob! We try our best to keep up ha!
That's badass bro..ok so how fast at full throttle?
Thanks man... Hard to say really. This was on a calm day and no diving WOT... I'd say somewhere between 140-160mph on a good windy day?
Everybody knows what's up with the blue boxes from Motion RC, except for Motion RC.
Right? Denial haha!
What kv motor and what ESC are you using?
I did not get an answer on this yet. I know its modified from Schübeler www.schuebeler-jets.de/de/
Tailerons?
Nope. Standard configuration.
