I was about to enroll in a university majoring in Electrical Engineering so I could learn how to charge my batteries without burning down the neighborhood but this video saved me so much money! Thank you!
I've watched loads of lipo charger videos but this is by far the most detailed and informative video and covers every aspect about lipo batteries. Well done guys, really appreciate the work that you've put into this tutorial.
@@crazyhobbies4695 with regard to the mAh and the weight of the lipo etc. would a lower S with a higher mAh have more weight than a battery of higher S? I am very close to being able to afford an Xmaxx and have been looking into lipos and chargers. Im in Qld and the local hobby shop has a 4s 14.8v lipo with 9000mAh, Would this have more weight than the 7000mAh 6s lipo in the video? (I know that 2x4s lipos is best for the Xmaxx I was just asking specifically about the weight). Also to slow down how quick the esc and motor heats up what options are there as far as cooling fans for each of these electric components?
I'm brand spankin new to Lipo batteries and the current state of RC cars. This video is the perfect companion to help get me on track with everything. Thank you very much. Really appreciate all the time and effort you put into making this video (even with all the jokes and soundbites.)
Another compliment on this video after watching numerous other lipo battery videos! What I notice is that other videos push getting a proper number for each specification, yet I still walk away with questions. This video does a GREAT job of isolating each number, before moving on to the next so I don't get re-confused all over again. Thanks!
Best video so far I've seen about LIPO batteries. I was so confused before watching this video and I feel 100% more confident now in what I am doing and understanding how these chargers and batteries work. Awesome awesome job sir!!
Newbie here and this perfectly explained everything. I especially appreciate the instructions on how to store the battery by charging it for 10 to 15 minutes versus putting it in storage mode if your not putting it away for 6 months or longer. Good info.
This is BY FAR the best video there is regarding RC battery facts, recommendations and information in general. I cannot understand those people that put thumbs down to this. Absolute congratulations for this video guys! And my thanks for sharing this information in such a professional yet easy and clear way.
Thank you very much for making this video! It's very clear, and I mean VERY clear! I just got my first charger in today, after spending the last five years charging my 2s batteries with the help of a trickle charger... Yeah, seriously! Whenever me and my son wanna go out with the cars, I needed to start charging like 2 days before the bash session, because I needed to charge 8 5000 mah batteries. Also, the storage mode is something that gives me a LOT more peace of mind, because I never used a storage mode. Just as an addition; I have bought myself an ammo box to store the batteries in. The bags are used when charging AND the charging is done OUTside of the house. I really enjoyed the video and learned quite a lot. Thanks again!
Great video and another important tip is that while charging, if you press the left arrow (or DEC in many similar chargers) you can see the target end voltage so you know how far or close you are to finish.
I’m a complete newbie to electric rc and this video is a bloody godsend. Had no idea about lipos and chargers and this helped maintain my sanity with it all. Cheers
Jumped online after failing to understand the instruction manual that came with the charger heh.. Cheers for making this video! Was very easy for me to follow and understand.
Great video I have just got my 1st lipo and reading the instructions that came with the lipo and the instruction with my charger your video makes more sense very detailed information that you put in the video has taken away the fear that I had so thank you.
WOW, just wow! What an easy to follow but better yet easy video to finally understand. I _almost_ didn't watch when I saw how long it was but I am *so* glad I did! Not joking, every single question I had was answered. It' like you looked into my brain and plucked out the exact things I was lost on. I picked up a charger based on a recommendation but wasn't sure how to use it (the manual was useless and the other YT videos I've watched didn't help me understand). I've had the charger and batteries for 9 months and I haven't used them. I knew the batteries were in storage mode so I haven't touched them. The RC truck has been sitting in a box for 9 months. Seriously. I was afraid I was going to burn my house down. In your video, you said they are all the same - while I have a different charger than what you showed, the screens were almost identical and I was able to follow along finally able to *_safely_* charge my batteries now. I also know and understand how to put the batteries in storage mode, and how to keep them from fainting... and so much more. To say "thank you" doesn't do this video justice but I'll say it anyway, thank you, truly. I really enjoyed driving my new truck around yesterday.
I have a friend who likes to get all scientific and technical when it comes to his batteries… honestly.. this video proves that getting the most out of your lipos and caring for them isn’t complicated..

Hi thank for explaining the intricasies of the charger. I have a 48 volt 20 ah for my ebike. Here are my questions:1. will this charger work for my battery 2. I have a dead lithium 48 v and i heard that a lipo charger could revive it ( BMS needs a jolt it has been sitting for about 12 months). Is this true? 3. Can charger be set to charge to 80% of capacy which is supposed to extend its life. I would really appreciate youjr response. You seem to be extemerly knowledegable. Thank you
This was very informative so, thank you . I was actually looking for info for laptop and tablet lipo batteries but can not seem to find in depth info as in this video . Was hoping if you could still answer a couple questions : 1, I have a 7.5V 2940mAh 22Wh battery for tablet and 7.5V 2260mAh 16Wh battery for keyboard and a charger at 15V 1.25A , So would the 7.5v battery be a 2 cell battery ? Even thought 3.7v x 2 would = 7.4v , like you say . You can not just have one cell that is just 7.5V or could you ? 2, On one of these RC lipo battery balancer / charger is it possible to charge a laptop and tablet lipo battery ?
Yeah keep them in a lipo bag all the time. Charge it and store it carefully and you will have no issues, if the lipo becomes puffy get rid of it at battery world.
I know this video is old, but it's good, and I'm glad I watched it....BUT, I have a question I think might be important, if anyone happens to read this comment and knows the answer, please reply, ok? So my question is: If I have lipos in the "hard case" style, will I still be able to tell if they're about to flame out, in time? This slightly worries me, I gotta confess. Can you tell if they're starting to puff? I know lipos often make ticking or clicking sounds when they're about to go, or sometimes get a sweet-ish, fruity smell coming out; if they're sealed, will I be able to smell it? Most of my lipos are much smaller 1S and 2S for micro quads, whoops, and smaller helis, but I've gotten into larger basher truggy or truck type vehicles, which all use the much bigger, higher 'S' rating batteries, all of which are hard case for protection during crazy jumps and crashes. Anyway, if anyone know, please let me know! Thanks, and thanks to Crazy Hobbies for the excellent useful video!

Amazing video, I thought I new everything but this just boosted my knowledge up by 70%! Thanks so much!
Thank you for the help couldn’t have charged my batteries right without this
