I was about to enroll in a university majoring in Electrical Engineering so I could learn how to charge my batteries without burning down the neighborhood but this video saved me so much money! Thank you!
I have a friend who likes to get all scientific and technical when it comes to his batteries… honestly.. this video proves that getting the most out of your lipos and caring for them isn’t complicated..
I’m a starter messed up on the charger order cause I never knew what’s the best once the it arrives I will buy this definitely looking forward subscriber granted thank you
I've watched loads of lipo charger videos but this is by far the most detailed and informative video and covers every aspect about lipo batteries. Well done guys, really appreciate the work that you've put into this tutorial.
@@crazyhobbies4695 with regard to the mAh and the weight of the lipo etc. would a lower S with a higher mAh have more weight than a battery of higher S? I am very close to being able to afford an Xmaxx and have been looking into lipos and chargers. Im in Qld and the local hobby shop has a 4s 14.8v lipo with 9000mAh, Would this have more weight than the 7000mAh 6s lipo in the video? (I know that 2x4s lipos is best for the Xmaxx I was just asking specifically about the weight). Also to slow down how quick the esc and motor heats up what options are there as far as cooling fans for each of these electric components?
Best video so far I've seen about LIPO batteries. I was so confused before watching this video and I feel 100% more confident now in what I am doing and understanding how these chargers and batteries work. Awesome awesome job sir!!
Great battery lesson Crazy Master 👌 Even Mrs Outback watched it intently and now knows everything about batteries & chargers now 🤓 I'm already in trouble for not storing our batteries correctly! 🤪. “When you charge your battery... you’re actually putting chemicals inside your battery”. 🤔 the rest of the video was spot on - Really helpful. But this statement right here, I just can’t let it slide 😂 😂 😂
Great video and another important tip is that while charging, if you press the left arrow (or DEC in many similar chargers) you can see the target end voltage so you know how far or close you are to finish.
Hello there man 🙋🏻♂️ What a great and good explaining about the topic. I can't thank you enough man 💁🏻♂️ but really, this is BY far the best ☝🏽charger /lipo battery and so forth and so forth video there is!!! 🤭 One thing do haha... How to discharge the / my lipo, after a full one and not using it for a while. Or is that automatically when you're do the storries one? Sorry for the language, I'm from the Netherlands 💁🏻♂️ so... Thanks for what you are doing for us, thank you man. Gr Massimo
I just had an Over Charge Capacity Limit alarm when I just charged my 5000 2s Lipo. What does that mean exactly? Also I didn’t know about disconnecting the battery right away after it dies. It was probably connected for about 20 minutes before I got home. I’d just put a cover over the guts and didn’t want to screw up the zippers by backing it over grit.
Towards the end, you suggest a 'snack' charge of 10-15, why not suggest the storage charge function, to get it to 50%, which you've said is the ideal storage charge?
very good question. So with the snack charge 10-15 minutes it will be much faster, then putting it on storage mode and waiting longer . Now lets just say you play with your cars every weekend or few days to go through and put all your batteries on storage would take ages to do. If you knew that you are not going to play with your lipo batteries for more then 3-6 months then I would put them on storage. basically its just a time thing , if your not fussed after every time to put them on storage then this will the best option but if your time poor like most people then a 10-15 min charge will be efficient for you.
This is BY FAR the best video there is regarding RC battery facts, recommendations and information in general. I cannot understand those people that put thumbs down to this. Absolute congratulations for this video guys! And my thanks for sharing this information in such a professional yet easy and clear way.
I just bought an RC car and played with it for a day and unknowingly broke pretty much every single rule in this video. But now I know si thanks! But jesus christ I think keeping your children alive is less complicated than these frikkin lipo batteries.

Great video I have just got my 1st lipo and reading the instructions that came with the lipo and the instruction with my charger your video makes more sense very detailed information that you put in the video has taken away the fear that I had so thank you.
Thank you sooo much for making this video mate, it really helped me as just bought a Arrma Notorious and wasn't sure about the LiPo batteries or how to charge them. Really appreciate you taking the time to make it, it made me understand exactly what I need to do:)
G'day me cobber! What a bloody brilliant presentation about LiPo batteries. It has to be the Beez Kneez of how to do something properly and safely as well as being so simple and informative. An absolute ripper if I may say. Being only new to RC world of sailing IRSA A and 1.5m Class sailing boats and having a fellow member just recently have his kitchen burnt out at 1:30am in the morning, because he didn't know how to charge a LiPo battery properly, is going to make me send all my fellow club members, in both clubs, an email with a link to your UA-cam so they can have a Captain Cook for them selves. Struth and forget the thumbs up and a like, share and subscribe jargon, and do one better and get on top of yar bloody soap box and shout it out to everyone yar can. I'm gunna go for a drive tomorrow along the bloody noisy Parramatta-road and buy me a 'BATT-CHECKER' and a 'DYN1405' too, just don't tell the sheila that hangs around me called the missus - please! Thank immensely and I owe your a beer from just a bloke who was your 554 thumbs up.
Yeah keep them in a lipo bag all the time. Charge it and store it carefully and you will have no issues, if the lipo becomes puffy get rid of it at battery world.
When I try to storage charge my battery I can only go from 0.1 to 1A on my charger but have 3s 5000mah battery’s could any one point me at what ahms I should store at? Thanks!
I'd assume thats because when storing its taking juice from the battery to bring it down to its nominal storage compacity. When discharging I would assume you only want a discharge rate of 0.1A to 1.0A to keep the cells balanced and smooth
Idk where he got 50% but I always told to leave each cell at 3.6v during storage. My 7.4v lipos have 2 cells so I leave mine in storage at 7.2 volts total. 3.6 x 2cells. But thats thru my research as an airsofter
Thanks mate, awesome content love the snack for the battery which will help big time. Oh and it was delivered with understandably Australian sense of humour. I subscribed 🇦🇺
Another compliment on this video after watching numerous other lipo battery videos! What I notice is that other videos push getting a proper number for each specification, yet I still walk away with questions. This video does a GREAT job of isolating each number, before moving on to the next so I don't get re-confused all over again. Thanks!
We should pay for this video, it answered my doubts why my 4s lipo batteries got pumped after playing, 1. I have drained the batteries after my baja electric became slower. 2. I was charging using fast chg option

Very good Video, but isn't the Voltage for a full 4s Lipo 16.8 Volt? ( 12:48 ) 15.2 Volts would only be 3.8 per cell instead of 4.2.
