Sensational! I went in to the store last weekend and was sold this exact charger and one of the exact batteries on screen and shown how to use it by Vas. Extremely helpful in person and on screen, I'd forgotten a lot of what he told me so having this to remind me is perfect. Thank you so much Vas, you're one of the people who influenced me getting the DHK Zombie as my first car back in 2018! P.s. stock Zombie on 4S is an animal lol
Hi Nick! Yes, unless the battery has a capacity under 2000mah. It is recommended to storage charge lipo's at 1c. For example, if you had a 5000mah battery, you would set the charger to 5.0a. If you set the charger 2.0a for a 5000mah battery, it will still charge but will take longer. We hope that helps!
Hi Darren, We recommend you set your charger to charge or discharge the battery as you normally would and use a Cellmeter to check the voltage every few minutes until the battery reaches 3.8v. See a recommended Cellmeter here: www.metrohobbies.com.au/products/aok-battery-n-servo-tester-cellmeter-8-multifunctional-digital-power-2s-8s
Hi there! In the Battery program menu, there is a battery setting called "LiHV" that is used for charging 7.6v Lipo batteries. Using the regular battery mode isn't necessarily bad, it just wont fully charge the Lipo. We hope that helps!
When setting batteries to storage charge, most modern chargers limit the discharge rate to 1.0amps. This is best practice, to allow a gentle and linear reduction in the capacity of the battery to storage charge. This will improve the longevity and durability of the battery over time.
Newby to the RC hobby and this is definitely the best video I've seen about charging and storage charging 🙂🙂
This has been extremely helpful. I’m just getting back into the R/C hobby after many years, and need all the knowledge I can get. Well done.
So glad we could help Heather! Happy to hear from you

@@MetroHobbiesAus so 2000 and up 1c storage charge. Up to 2000 2a storage charges?
How long can you leave in storage mode before you should run another storage charge?
Hi Justin, This depends on the quality of the battery, however 12-18 months is a safe estimate for most batteries.
@@MetroHobbiesAus thanks
What voltage to use for 1080esc ues for tamiya rock socker? Is it 7.4v or 6 v?

What do I do if I don't have a charger with the option to set the battery to sleep/storage mode ?

What if I run a 7.6v on the 7.4 volt mode is that bad new to rc and just got my car fixed up!

For some reason when im in the storage setting for my LiPo I can only set the amp to 1.0, why is this?

On iphone battery you need to charge it half full for storage
How do we stop the charging if its haven't completed yet. The stop button doesn't stop
Hi Larry,
You can try to hold down the stop button for a couple of seconds, if not, unplug the battery from the charger.
thx for this video if i didnt see this my battery would be dead in prob a few months
I came from running nitro trucks as a kid to now back into electric cars as an adult and this whole lipo stuff makes my head hurt lol
