I even dug out my old concert program from the Permanent Waves tour many years ago - it belonged to my Uncle, he was fortunate enough to have it signed by Neil, Geddy and Alex :-)
ASTOUNDING! As a big Rush fan and a bass player I know this tune very well. That was an amazing rendition of it. The bass solos were fantastic, the guitar solo sounded like it was always on euphonium and the drumming was sharp... the Professor would have been chuffed. Great job guys, that must have taken a lot of effort. Definitely going in my 'Choons' playlist. La Villa Strangiata next eh?
Are you kidding me?!?!?! Awesome!!!!! Oh my gosh so good, and the drummer is having a blast!!! Thank you all for being so imaginative, and you NAILED it. NAILED it. Absolutely brilliant.
How did they do that? The volume of air movement is scary - I played trumpet in high school, but stayed away from any baritone brass just because of the tremendous hyperventilation required. So impressed by this it is hard to describe. Thanks for sharing! And the big smiles afterward - glad you included that in the clip. Well-deserved. I found this by searching for Rush, and discovered a unique group with awesome skills!
That was amazing!! One of the most challenging rock instrumentals ever written covered on totally unexpected instruments. Hats off to them and the arranger of this. You could tell they really enjoyed that with the smiles at the end.
This is good. If I designed an international airport, I'd probably use the rhythm to represent its name in Morse so some obscure rock band could be inspired to write an instrumental.
So very nice to hear, sort of reminds me of Chicago Transit, dunno, great music gentlemen!always so happy when I find gems like this in You Tube, heartening in such trying times imho.
Bravo, fellows! Rush is my favorite band and you did YYZ justice. I love music, and really appreciated the application of different instruments to create the same sound. This took a lot of work, and I'm sure a lot of time went into arranging this. Not an easy task. Well done.
Been listening to this nonstop since I discovered it the other day. Just one suggestion - crank up the volume on Mitch’s mic! His low notes are incredible
I have so many questions. Who did the arrangement/transpose since euphonim is not a "c" instrument. Any word from Geddy or Alex? Drummer killed it too. Great musicians all around.
Drummer is on it. Neil would have been proud.
Thank you!!
@@razzledazzleatx why are you dressed like the karate kid?
@@Augfordpdoggie Cuz I'm a session ninja, brah.
Brilliant! Love the tricky bass part around 2:18
And the articulation, no shortcuts. LIKE!!!
As a former euphonium player and RUSH fan, I approve of this message.
Most unique rush cover ever. This should have 1 million views must have been a pain to learn and play.
Thanks for the HUGE compliment! It was certainly a project.
Because u didn't see the one where they play it with pan drums lol
Hehee ....well....it got a thousand
Which is really good .....did look really
Hard to do .....great job guys
This was FAR better than I expected. You guys slayed one of the greatest rock instrumentals ever!
With Neil's passing I find myself nostalgically youtubing a lot of Rush - so glad I found this - it's amazing! Super musicians!!

I find myself nostalgically Youtubaing a lot of Rush, but today I was Euphoning it.

As a high school tuba player and Rush fanatic since 1980 you guys are incredible.
You would of been stars in Vienna in 1792.

MADE MY DAY! This is awesome. I'd love to see the look on Alex, Geddy, and Neal's faces when they see/hear this. Very well done!
I especially love the 'PARP!' at about 0:49
Fantastic job.
If you have the lung capacity for it, you guys could slay La Villa Strangiato...
I am so glad I had my studio cans on when a friend linked this to me - awesome playing, recording, and mixing!
Thanks so much! We spent a ton of time on the setup and mixing -- we appreciate you noticing!
Two words.... Hypnotic Brilliance
This is good. If I designed an international airport, I'd probably use the rhythm to represent its name in Morse so some obscure rock band could be inspired to write an instrumental.
Me too
Ryan Henderson is one of the best drummers on the scene.
@Jerome Lund The drummers supporting unusual acts like euphoniums scenes I presume
I hate most Rush covers. But I absolutely LOVE this one! Bravo!
The absolute awesomeness of this simply cannot be expressed. Great...just great.
I'm a Rush fan and play Cornet in a brass band. Brilliant!😁
man this is legendary, a piece of gold hide deep on youtube
Geddy's notes never sounded better......this was AWESOME!!

Y'all jamming now... great job
Great arrangement of a song that didn't really have Euphoniums in mind when it was written!
Been listening to this nonstop since I discovered it the other day. Just one suggestion - crank up the volume on Mitch’s mic! His low notes are incredible
Samuel Plays Brass you should also listen to Chris Castellanos version on Wagner tuba “French horn”

LOVE THIS!!! SO GOOD!!!
This was truly great. Thank you for playing in such a high quality that pays tribute to a great band.
Honestly, coming from a euphonium player, this shit is insane
I have so many questions.
Who did the arrangement/transpose since euphonim is not a "c" instrument. Any word from Geddy or Alex? Drummer killed it too. Great musicians all around.
Euphonium is 100% a C instrument if you play bass clef or even tenor clef, although if you play treble it is a Bb
I enjoyed this. Thank you! Song request, 2112.
Increíble!! pero buenísimo, felicitaciones.
Bravo, Gents!
THIS AWESOME! Great job guys!
Thanks, Alejandro!
